Disney Dream is now Yellow status with the CDC

They did this pre-Covid too. I have crazy (weird and varied) food allergies. This can cause random throwing up. When this happened on one of my Disney cruises, they right away wanted to know my room number. Luckily, they didn't get paranoid and let me dismiss it as allergies; I'm curious (though really don't want to find out) how they would respond now.
I got suspected food poisoning on one of the UK sailings and was throwing up - notified them and they were surprisingly relaxed about it, asked if it was just one ‘event’ and said to let them know if it happened again. I’ve been lucky not to ever be sick when sailing DCL pre-covid so wasn’t sure what the normal protocol was. Quite a few people had similar on that sailing (including someone throwing up during a character meet and greet) and AFAIK no-one was quarantined.

I believe they are currently allowing 1900 guests, as of last week. Jen Lefforge just returned and was vlogging and she was on the last of the 1600 sailings.
Which ship? DCL has already sailed the Dream with more than that — 2100. I’m not so sure DCL has actually set capacity limitations but rather demand has been low for most cruises.

She was on last week and she was told there were 1600 passengers and that the cruise loading next had 1900.

I'm sure that's true, but it doesn't mean either of those figures are a max capacity set by DCL. It simply means that's how many guests booked each of those cruises. I believe it was Columbus Day weekend earlier this month that had 2100 or so. Passenger capacity for any given cruise has always varied somewhat -- with more guests onboard during weekends and school vacation times which was the situation a couple of weeks ago.

Our cruise last week on the fantasy was supposed to have 1400 guests. We were told that 400 of them cancelled at the last minute.

Like everyone else - our daughter tested early on Friday morning in our room. We were negative and spent the day on Castaway Cay. My app didn’t work on the island because of no wi-fi service. When we got back about 4:45pm we had a message waiting for us that our daughter needed to be tested again. A nurse in a hazmat suit came to our room and administered a PCR test. It took about one hour and we were negative. Our daughter was not allowed to leave the room during this time and we had a security guard outside our door. Disney then called us and said even though our test was negative we needed to go to the quarantine area. We had about 1/2 hour to pack. At that point we had four cast members in hazmat suits block off part of the hallway and escort us to the second floor quarantine area via the crew elevator. We were not allowed to leave until we got off the ship. Disney was amazing and made sure we got room service for food etc. This was because our child was in the same group at kids club during the week with the one positive child.Other families in that group were quarantined also. It was an adventure for sure! Again, Disney was fantastic.
a bit overkill. for adults at least who were vaccinated

I think the most concerning thing on this thread is that Disney is putting people into quarantine in non-balcony staterooms. That is completely unacceptable especially when people have likely booked a balcony during these times in order to ensure they would have outside access at all times if forced to quarantine.

I'm afraid to tell my wife this. She's somewhat claustrophobic that's why we always get a veranda. She always said she wouldn't mind being quarantine because we have a veranda. Houston we have a problem.

I’m not claustrophobic but am sailing with a 2 and 4 yr old and we book a balcony so we would at least be able to get fresh air. Moving people to a lower category and taking away the option to go outside is insane and I cannot believe people are standing for it. I cannot believe someone that paid for a one bedroom concierge room would be moved to an oceanview cabin on deck 2 and therefore no one should.

Hmm...can you imagine being put in quarantine on day 5 or so of a 14day cruise in an inside room? Yikes!

Hopefully with FDA approval now of Pfizer vaccine for ages 5-11, there won’t be many unvaccinated passengers onboard. We are scheduled to sail on the March WBPC cruise but without children. I don’t know of any scenario that would require us to quarantine other than actually testing positive other than maybe another table near ours at dinner but that’s why they shouldn’t be close to each other.
I wonder if pp’s daughter ever later tested positive.

The only way to “not stand for it” is to not cruise. They are going to follow their safety protocols.

Then again, since the ship isn’t full though, I dont see why they couldn't set aside the aft section of deck 5 to keep people who are quarantined in a balcony room. Maybe they’re afraid of people talking over the divider and spreading it to one another.

I'm pretty sure we would have to be dragged down to deck 2 if we were to be quarantined.

Heard there were guests quarantined on the fantasy 8 night that just got back this morning. Heard there were guests from deck 6 and deck 8 that had to go into quarantine during the cruise.
We were on that cruise, and had a stateroom on deck 6. Never saw/heard anything about anyone having to go into quarantine - must have happened when we weren’t around or on a different area of the deck. I suppose they also try to be pretty quiet about it.

We didn’t actually see anyone quarantined. Our next door neighbors heard from someone they know on the ship about the quarantines.

Or perhaps deck 2 is just easier to isolate. The deck 5 laundry is aft and the aft stairs are quite useful for getting from deck 6 to deck 4! On deck 2, they can rope off the hallway access points from the area just outside the restaurant and keep the non-quarantined guests in there.

That, and the medical center is on deck 1.
