Disney Dream - Restart Content (initial cruises)

Meanwhile while ya'll fight over those upper decks - the wife and I will just quietly lay claim to deck 3 & 4 (one for each of us), that's where the MDRs and the theaters are. ;)

But in all seriousness - I find it interesting to see these posts because it gives me an indication where people spend most of their time. We spend almost every waking moment on 3 & 4 for stated reasons. We tend to eat even breakfast & lunch in the MDRs

Sucker

Take deck 12 to ourselves haha

Well, of course it's only 900 this time. 50% fewer vloggers.

When they run out of vloggers it will be to 450.

I thought this too. Now for the big question... how low is too low? At what point do they cancel the cruise? They've already gathered CMs from various parts of the world, do they not get paid if they decide to cancel a single sailing? Would they combine 2 sailings? I hope it doesn't come to that but who knows what the future will bring. If they're willing to keep sailing with 500 passengers, I might have to cancel our WBPC and cruise every other weekend this fall instead. You know, just doing my part to help out the cruise industry. ;)

Good question. The President of Royal Caribbean said last week that depending on which ship, their break even point is 35 to 50% of capacity. Wonder what DCL's break even point is?

I tried to search. Anyone see anything about the hot tubs being open? I know about the 10 minute pool thing, and I've seen on the Magic Vlogs the hot tubs were open..... but the one vlog I saw from the Dream had nets over the hot tubs. Didn't know if it was an always thing, or a temporary.

That 10 minutes in the pool thing really gets me - it would take me longer to GET TO the pool then I would be allowed to actually be in it. I don't know why they don't make it half hour slots, that seems more rational.

and that is with a casino and a very robust bar-loving crowd.
Norwegian has been offering free open bar, free wifi and free specialty restaurants for a while now.

I didn't hear that one. What do they do, blow a whistle after 10 mins and the pool has to empty for the next group? They didn't do that at the Beach Club. They limited capacity but they didn't tell people in the pool area they had to leave.

Hot tubs are open Michael Kay will be releasing his embarkation video with himself in it at some point.

Ya but Disney charges way more up front. So they make all your drink and casino money in the initial cost of the cruise.

If people are waiting correct. Although things keep changing with the pool I feel since it's not until now they had to deal with the pool since the UK sailings are cool and they didn't end up in the pool as much it seems.

I just read a blog post that said that. I'm so sad as I was really looking forward to getting a little something next year. It wasn't there on our first dream cruise in 2017 so I was excited to get to it this time. Although my wallet might be a bit happier that it's gone :D

I did just that on our last cruise. Just a little bit of something. I treasure it now. First, because I got it on my DCL cruise. Second, probably be my only piece ever from Tiffany's. That little, blue box...

I bet if DCL starts to see the capacity too low, they will start offering the special rates as they have in the past. There are some GTY rates dropping lower, but still no FL resident or military discounts out there. It could be lower at this point as well since school just started in Florida and parents may wait until the fall comes around to keep kids out of school.

Not really sure I want to see videos of the unvaccinated Kays sitting in a hot tub around other people….
Are we sure they are? I watched bits of the David Kay video about his pre-cruise testing, but it wasn't clear to me in the video and out of the (many negative comments) if he took a home test because he is unvaccinated or because he wanted to show the process some guests will have to go through.

Not to mention isn't it hurricane season right now in Florida? When does that end?

I would really think about bringing the kids with us if kids clubs and nursery were wide open for booking.

Instead just myself and my wife.

That might be a postivie or negative from Disney's view.
