First Look at Wonders of Xandar Touch Point for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT​

Among Riddley’s photos is our first close-up look at the tap point or “tapstiles” for the attraction’s Lightning Lane. Instead of featuring the iconic Mickey head, the tap points are purple and feature the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion icon.



Riddley also shared photos of the Starblaster outside of the pavilion.

Finally, this photo featuring the Nova Corps star logo lit up in orange seems to be from inside the pavilion.

Disney World Offers 80 Acres of Land to Build 1,300 Units of Affordable Housing

Disney World has just announced that they will be earmarking 80 acres for affordable housing near Flamingo Crossings Town Center. Here’s the announcement:

For more than 50 years, our Central Florida family has played an important role in the story of Walt Disney World. As Disney cast members, it is our home, it’s where we work, it’s where we play and it’s where we grow. And at Disney, we’re always looking for innovative ways to make our community stronger.

Today, we’re taking a big step forward in these efforts: Walt Disney World is earmarking nearly 80 acres of our land for a new affordable housing development – right here in Central Florida. This initiative has been in the works for a while as we’ve been focused on finding solutions to this challenge for quite some time. I am thrilled that we can finally share this news with our cast members and neighbors.

Original Club 33 at Disneyland Undergoing Refurbishment Through April 15​

Along with much of New Orleans Square, the original Club 33 location in Disneyland is undergoing a refurbishment to add “sparkle and shine” ahead of the club’s 55th anniversary.

Le Salon Nouveau will remain closed through April 15, the Orange County Register reports. Le Grand Salon will remain open Wednesday through Sunday during the refurbishment.

New Permit Filed for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Show Set Installation

A new permit filed today suggests that there is still some work to be done on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster. The work, listed as “installation of show sets”, lists ThemeWorks Inc as the contractor and Walt Disney Imagineering as the owner. ThemeWorks Inc recently worked on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser immersive hotel experience as well as highly themed elements of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Not only will D23 Gold Members be able to experience the attraction before opening day, but this event includes even more magic so you can make the most of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration.

First, you’ll check in at the main entrance, where you’ll receive your complimentary after-4 p.m. park admission and a commemorative credential. You’ll have some free time to stroll and sample the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival with a dining card. After the sun has set, we’ll gather around the World Showcase lagoon for reserved viewing for the new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious!

Then as the park closes, the exciting moment arrives as we invite you to make your way to the new World Discovery neighborhood where you’ll embark on an all-new journey in the Wonders of Xandar pavilion.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind' height requirement confirmed​

The 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind' height requirement is 42" (107cm)

At 42 inches, 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind' has a lower height requirement than other Disney World rollercoasters - Expedition Everest (44"), Rock 'n' RollerCoaster (48"), and Space Mountain (44"). However, it is higher than Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (40") and Slinky Dog Dash (38").
The height requirement supports accounts of the thrill level of 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind' being around the level of Expedition Everest and very much a family coaster experience.

The ride vehicle features a lap bar, with seating of 2 guests per row.

Disneyland Paris Celebrates 30th Anniversary With ‘Golden Ticket’-Style Chocolate Bar Giveaway​

Disneyland Paris has begun its 30th anniversary celebrations, but more special merchandise is coming for the official anniversary date of April 12. Today during the Annual Passholder broadcast, they announced a celebratory chocolate bar with a “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”-style contest.

​

Some lucky guests will find a prize within the wrapper of their 30th anniversary chocolate bar. Over 100 prizes will be available, including a VIP tour, a stay at a Disney hotel, park tickets, and 30th anniversary merchandise.

The bar is organic milk chocolate and will be released on April 12, 2022.
