This entire situation is based off canceling the reservation, not modifying. The loophole is from people that dont even stay onsite but book a one day room, get the 60 day window for FP and then cancel the reservation but as long as tickets remained active, they were able to keep their FP. Yes, i know about the people who stay onsite and was using this loophole to gain a few days but the real issue was the offsite and total cancellation. This is all over other forums and confirmed, if ur just modifying ur stay u wont lose ur FP but if actually cancel ur reservations ur FP will be cancelled as well. The key here is Cancel, not move or modify.
