That soreness is all goodness. I hope that you really start getting into the exercise as I believe it is THE key to long term weight loss. I can't remember where I read/heard it, but I think it is the number one indicator of long term weight loss maintenance. And it is SO good to have ways other than the scale to measure your success. I promise you the soreness will lessen, but it is good to always keep pushing yourself, as that is the way your body will change. I'm so excited for you! Go girl!!

I did breakfast right this morning. Had a boiled egg on high fiber cracker. Don't think lunch was too bad. But I did have a few cookies, which isn't as much as I've been having here in Switzerland. And only one cappucino. Unfortunately, I didn't get to exercise, as I was home with my DS. Of course I could have used my resistaband, but I didn't.

Tomorrow plan to hit the gym.

Good work, Jen. I totally agree about the exercise. And there is the big benefit that it's good for your entire health picture. Not to mention mood!

Beth, you had such a great drop last week, consider it still a victory whatever the scale says this week. Glad to see you here.

I am having a hard time with the food. And I was really busy the last two days, pulling long nights, so I didn't get to the gym. I will today.

I went to the gym today and did 40 minutes of cardio and a little stretching and weights.

Plan is to leave for France tomorrow and stay outside of Dijon on Wednesday and then Thursday through Sunday near DLP. We're thinking of going into Paris on Saturday to see Montmarte and Eiffle Tower. Hoping everything works out!

I weighed in, and went from 226.6 down to 224.6 for a loss of exactly 2 pounds. I'm happy. I guess. :rolleyes1 I was hoping for more. But then, who doesn't, right?? lol

Tried on my black jeans yesterday and they still barely button! I've got to get down into the low teens again asap.

Beth! That is outstanding, esp considering you lost 12 before!!! You are going in the right direction.

I have to weigh in today and am worried... it will be about the same as last week, if I'm lucky. Mainly, I'm not reducing calories enough coz I'm working out every day. Also, I'm staying up too late... I am going to clean that up.

How's everyone else? I know Jen is in France, so this is not a time to worry about food, and she's probably getting a lot of exercise walking everywhere!
 
Hi Christine! Thanks. Unfortunately the weight I'm losing now is weight I'd lost previously and gained back. :sad2: But at least I stopped it before it got too bad, and am now back on the right track.

I am so nervous about the next week or so. I've got Noelle's birthday plans tomorrow. Movies which means popcorn. Then for lunch her and her friends want to do a buffet. :scared1: Then of course at her party there will be pizza and cake/ice cream. :scared1: :scared1:

Fast forward a few days and then it's Thanksgiving. Followed immediately by a visit from Cheryl, Linda, and Marcie. We have plans to go out to eat every day!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I am afraid I'm going to gain those 12 pounds back. So of course stressing about it tonight freaked me out and............you guessed it, I went straight for the fridge. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: So now I'm stressed about everything I just wolfed down too. I tell ya, I can't win!!! :rolleyes:



Did we lose Capri, Wendy, Deb, Kelly, Shirley, and everyone else again?? :confused:
 


Beth, maybe movies doesn't have to mean popcorn. If you are taking Noelle and her friends, perhaps you can give them the "freedom" to sit by themselves with you a few rows back. Leave the popcorn with them.

Buffets are tricky, but can you drop them off and do a bit of window shopping close by? Or maybe skip the buffet since she'll be having a party with pizza and cake? Pizza is not so bad if you watch your toppings. A couple of slices of veggie pizza is not so bad--especially if you tell them to go easy on the cheese.

My husband thinks it is bad luck not to join in a birthday cake, so you have to have at least a bite of that. But, can you serve yourself last and see to it that the cake is about gone by the time you get your slice? Even if you have to serve the kids big pieces that you think will go to waste...it is better than going to your waist...

I am hoping the rest of it and some of its friends will leave me this coming tuesday. I have a busy and food filled saturday but I am saving all my weekly allowance points for it so I should be ok. I really wanted chocolate tonight but I am chewing gum instead!

Hi Beth. I am also in a place where I'm working to lose weight that I had lost in the last few months, so I can sort of identify with you (except I didn't just lose 12 pounds! :cheer2:). I hope yesterday went ok for you. Christine had some great suggestions.

I'm looking for ideas too that will help me... one thing I like is the "do I want to taste something fabulous or do I want to look fabulous?"

The more pre-planning you do, the better. Is that party this weekend? Also, build in more exercise if you're going to decide to indulge in small ways.

I'm really miserable. I weighed in about .5 higher than last week. My trainer was so kind, he knows I'm dealing with stress and so he didn't focus on it. Instead, he gave me the hardest workout ever! :lmao: Lots of emphasis on the quads because they are big muscles and so will burn more calories.

I'm achey and a bit stiff this morning, but nothing that a hot shower and a little movement won't fix. But I ended up eating too much food yesterday so I have to get back to the way I ate when I was losing. Smaller meals but more of them. Protein and veggies or salad.

I am not going to go back to where I was.

Hi everyone,

I am working on whatever I can to get the numbers to go down. I'm on an upswing and at this point it seems like it's just stress and/or lifestyle because the eating cannot be the cause of me going up at the rate of like 1/2 lb. a day!

One thing I'm going to do is make sure I'm going to bed earlier.

Speaking of oatmeal, that is my usual breakfast. I have it with non fat milk (we have the best dairy - it is really good non fat) and maybe 3-4 blueberries if they're in the fridge. I make a small amount as it's so filling. I do it in the microwave.

Off to the gym today too!

I am doing ok today. Have a plan in place for Thursday. I weigh in tomorrow since I had to work a double today. It's been quite here lately...I wonder why....come out come out where ever you are. Better to face the music now than after the holiday carnige. LOL!

Had my wi last night and lost 4.8lbs! Woo Hoo!!!! That puts me down 58lbs since May! I am hoping to lose 2 this coming week so I can get my 60 lb clippie! Hope everyone is having a great day and staying on plan this holiday season!

My goal for tonight is to eat until I feel satisfied but not full. I'm also taking tons of leftovers for the rest of the semester hopefully I can make it last that long.

Oh, I tried. My gym closed early today... then I tried getting people to go for a walk after dinner... no go. I did manage to do 25 min of Wii fit exercise, and did work up a sweat, but it's not quite as good as an elliptical...
