Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

The "hit or miss" CL check-in reports on here are disturbing. I don't think that checking in CL is that big of a deal, but I do think that the least they could do is have someone send you up to the lounge to relax and wait for a concierge CM to come check you in. It's not that uncommon for more than one family to check in at the same time after all... Having said that, our absolute worst check-in was CL at the GCH (at DL) with a CM who obviously didn't want to be there, didn't want to be courteous, and didn't want to be checking us in. (looking back I should have complained, since it still bothers me that we had such a horrible check in, but at the time I just let it go). Again, this is something they could avoid considering there aren't that many CL CMs compared to the number of hotel employees overall. There are so many wonderful CMs, too. It's worth it to take the time to write about the ones who make things special!

Oh, and TgrLvsPooh, you should get your chocolate!
This is really disturbing to me. I know that having a cast member meet you at the curb is not a big deal but it does set the tone for your whole vacation and doesn't seem like a very hard thing to do right! If it's just to hard to have someone greet you with a smile and escort you to the CL desk then what happens if you have a real problem to fix? Our last trip to the GF RPC many years ago started out with no one to great us and an unhappy CM at the front desk that only heard me say CL and were not pleasant to us telling us that they couldn't check us in and were down right rude. They basically ignored us figuring that we were not their problem. We haven't been back but are trying them again in Feb.

A club level first for me tonight: Someone on the first floor has their laundry hanging out to dry on a line outside on their patio!!!! :laundy: Not swimwear and towels, but actual jeans and shirts!! :rotfl2: Probably about a dozen or so items pinned to hangers. I hope it doesn't get stolen. Lol

So here is a question, will my MagicBand operate the elevator before we check in , because that would make things a bit easier as we are bringing a car be can just leave stuff in the car, go upstairs and figure out our room stuff then go back down and get everything from there.

I can't answer your question, but hopefully others will be able to :).

View attachment 140438 Hi! We checked out of YC this morning & I have some pictures of the new lounge. Let's see if this works.View attachment 140439

Nice pics, thanks for posting :flower3:.

Looks great we will be there in early January for marathon weekend!

Have a great trip! :wizard:

Ok, that's just wrong. When I'm paying the cost of a Disney deluxe resort, especially at this time of year, I do not want to be looking at a backyard laundry line. Part if what I'm paying for is the ambience & view. :sad2:

BWI Garden Cottage
GF Main Building room
GF Outer Building room
CR Tower room
Poly room

Which would you choose & why? Or would you go with another? Why?

BWI: Garden Cottages do require a walk to the lounge, but if you are concentrating on F&W, I would want to be in an Epcot resort. And I do prefer BWI to BC.

GF: have never been, but I would choose lobby because I like a busier feel to my resort. I don't like being in quieter outer buildings. I want to see the lobby, be close to shops, etc. But it's not near Epcot.

CR Tower room: I like the busy feel of the CR tower, and convenience to MK is great, however, you are more interested in F&W...

Poly: I love the tropical feel of the Poly. It feels very vacation-like. Easy access to monorail, other resorts, and MK. However, your focus is F&W, so...

My vote goes to BWI. The cottages are very cute. I really enjoy the easy access to the boardwalk/lake area in the mornings and evenings; it is very pleasant. And easy access to Epcot/WS.

Another CL first for me this morning. I was at the desk getting some help with one of my retail magic bands that wasn't working and a man came up and asked "Who's the driver today? We need to go to Animal Kingdom".

Is this something I don't know about???

Just wanted to post an update on this. Although the AKL club lounge still shows on the refurb list for 1/11 through 2/5, I received the following in an email today in response to my inquiry:

Dumela (Greetings) April,

Thank you for sending in the planning form. The Club lounge renovations have been moved back to later in the year. There will be no impact on your visit.

At your service,

Don

Hope that helps some others with plans in January and February!

This makes me feel better about what I heard, because none of CMs seem to be on the same page, ever. I talked to someone in guest services the other day who told me that the CL construction would be moved to "late spring," and that the only thing scheduled for the end of January-Feb are the 5th & 6th floors, which are DVC.

Our CM in our family told us once, while she was training some certain guests get VIP treatment i.e. drove to where they want to go to. Can't remember exactly if that what she said. OR it could be someone who its their first trip.

I saw someone in lounge today with just a rob and no shoes. :rolleyes1

I know this isn't club related but I'm bummed hot tub is closed today.

Why, oh why, do people think that's appropriate? :sad2:

Because they feel they are spending the money so they should be able to do whatever they want. But, I learned that lesson the first time we stayed CL and never had repeated it but I was in socks and we were 3 doors down from the lounge.

It's sad how there are so many different answers to the same questions :(.

I've often wondered the same thing!
