"Dream"ing of April 6, 2015

Thanks for the responses- keep em coming! :)

Feeling excited today. At work, I got a local parenting magazine that not only profiled the place we're taking the kids this summer (Dollywood)- it also has a cover story on the Disney Dream! I got a copy for us and one for my parents. I think my dad has an inkling what's up (I was trying to surprise them, but my 6-y-old has blurted it out). I covertly pointed to the article for him to read! Also, the cruise planning DVD came in the mail. I put it with the other items I got in the mail. I was planning to wrap everything to give my parents at Christmas. My 6-y-old saw the first box come from Disney Destinations, that's how he found out about the trip, lol.

Will FE groups be posted here? I'm thinking we'll try one, although we are new to all this.

Why do you think Atlantis will be crowded?

It's peak season/spring break. I've heard lines can get very long. I'm sure Atlantis is wonderful and I'd love to get there some day. Blue Lagoon Island just seems more relaxing : )

Hello fellow Dissers!

I and my DDs are looking at joining y'all for our very first Disney cruise...in fact very 1st cruise ever. I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time, which makes me one hot mess.:scared: My girls are excited and already doing a countdown! :sad2:

As a newbie, please bear with me when I ask a lot of silly questions but I will take any advice that is offered. Have to admit, I am looking forward to meeting other Dissers too! :flower3:

Another first timer here... this will be the first cruise for everyone in my family (Myself, DW, DS6 and DS3). We scored an 8A room so we are pretty excited for the extra space. Looking forward to tips and tricks before setting sail!!

Well, I know we will be leaving on a Disney ship either on April 4 or April 6. Just in case we decide to go with the 4 day Bahama cruise, I wanted to introduce myself and see how many teens will be sailing with us. I have 3 sons who will be 15, 16, and 18 at the time of the cruise and it is the 18th High School Graduation celebration so I'm trying to make it special and all about him!

Oh the choices are just too hard to make!!

I will have both my 17 year old son and his cousin + my DD14. I'm sure there will lots of teens no matter which cruise you choose. Just an FYI - the 18 year old won't be allowed in the teen club, but there are some other organized activities for the 18-21 crowd. Good luck choosing!

My DD (10) and a friend and her DD (11) will be sailing on this cruise! I've sailed once before on the Wonder and really love that ship. Little concerned about crowds due to a lot of schools being on Spring Break but it fit our time frame.
I really want to possibly join the Fish Extender group but don't really know how to proceed. Any advice would be great!:cool1:

Hi,
We will be joining you on this cruise for DD's Senior year Spring Break - Me(54) DH(58) DD(17) and her BFF(17).

We will be going to WDW a couple of days prior and to Universal a few days after. This will be our 4th DCL cruise, but the cruise will be a total surprise to DD's best friend, who's never been on a cruise before! :yay:

We'll be staying in our favorite cabin - 9174 cat 5E extreme aft. Really looking forward to this trip! :cool1:

Hi there. We are 2 decks almost directly below you in 7194. This is the first time we've stayed in this type of cabin. I'm really looking forward to that balcony. My DS17 is also a senior, and we will have our Dnephew with us who is 17 as well. Glad to hear there will be others their age.

We will be on the Dream for a Spring Break trip that week. It's my family's 1st cruise together! I've been on Carnival before but DH, DD (6) and DS (7) have not. I booked it last year for a Cat V but will surprise them this Xmas with the trip. We're also doing WDW parks 2 days before the cruise to get in the Disney mood. Hopefully it won't be total madness at the parks that weekend.

I'm so excited for our trip. Looking at trip reports and videos online just makes me ready to go even more.

Welcome. We are first time cruisers as well and DD doesn't know so it's going to be part of her Cmas surprise as well.

As for the parks Easter weekend, I think you need to prepared for total madness and big crowds. From what I've read, if you are off property, just the traffic to get into WDW can be nuts.

We've decided NOT to do the parks at all this trip. We are flying to Orlando on Saturday and staying off property at the Gaylord Palms resort and just hanging out there, maybe venturing over to the DTD (although with the construction going on over there we may skip that too). We have friends in Orlando that we'll probably spend some time with on Easter Sunday with and then I may book Easter dinner at the Yachtsman.

This will be our first Disney cruise. My husband and I have done 7 RCL cruises and are WDW veterans. We swore we would never do one of these due to lack of casino and limited bars .... but our DS (6) finally convinced us. We will be deck 10 off the back of the ship. Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (obstructed view). Anybody else going with a 7 year old boy (or close in age)?

My son will be celebrating his 7th b-day (a few days early) and also staying on Deck 10.

Hello all! We just booked this cruise on Friday! It will be myself, DD11, DS9, and DD9. DH isn't joining us for this one - this will be our fifth Disney cruise, and after #4, well, he had enough. Too much of a homebody, and our last DCL was a 12-night Med, and it was just too long and too much time away from home for him. So I am cruising with the kids over Spring Break!

Excited to have another Disney cruise to count down the days to!

Edited to say - I need to change my signature and update it with this cruise LOL!

Just got back from Food & Wine Festival, now I can start focusing on the cruise! Just reserved a room in PC for the night before!
