I looking for suggestions for dinner in Epcot. We are a family of six: my husband, myself, two kids (7 and 11 y.o.) and the grand-parents. We've been to Disney multiple times but the grand-parents have only been once before, years ago. We've tried many restaurants over the years: Akershus, Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Beirgarten, La Hacienda, Rose & Crown and Via Napoli.

I feel like I am running out of ideas on where to eat. Right now I have a ADR for Via Napoli at 6:00PM. Via Napoli always had good food but I'm not sure Grandma and Grandpa will like the style of pizza served. They usually like Pizza Hut or Domino style pizza. I was thinking of switching with Rose and Crown to a good view of Illuminations but there are no times available. La Hacienda has a gorgeous dining room with beautiful views of the lagoon but the food was not great last time I ate there. I am torn!

Any suggestions?

Biergarten: German Buffet with various Meats, Breads, Potatoes, Sauces and Deserts.
Plus they have live entertainment.

One advantage to a Buffet is that you don't have to wait to order and then wait for your food to be prepared and delivered. Another is that there is a variety of items to choose from.

Swan & Dolphin Signatures are nearby.

If using Dining Plan - Flying Fish or Yachtsman.....

Wanna' downscale - the newly opened Ale & Compass (which replaced Captain's Grille).

How adventurous are the grandparents (or other eaters). I've heard nothing but good things about Spice Road Table.

It's not even all adventurous. They have a steak and a meal with chicken and beef skewers, both of which are quite good. The chimichurri-like sauce that came with the skewers was amazing.

The menu would terrify my MIL...heck chimichurri sauce terrifies her.

Teppan Edo -the habatchi restaurant in Japan, perhaps? You have a big enough party. It’s basically protein, vegetables, rice. Plus you get a show while they cook the food

Coral Reef ?

In my household, we are all foodies and ready to try new flavours. Heck, my 7 year old even eats oysters and his favourite foods are sushi and sashimi. Grandma and Grandpa, however are not very adventurous in their food choices. We brought them for dinner at Boma's years ago and they had trouble with the buffet choices.:sad2:
I would love to try Spice road table as I love Moroccan flavours but I doubt my parents in law would like it. I am better off sticking to Via Napoli.

I always forget that Epcot is so close to the boardwalk restaurants. I definitely have to take a look. Which do you suggest is best?

Sounds like my MIL. Somehow I conned her into tiffins at AK (we'll see how well that works out). At Epcot we're doing Le Cellier and Teppan Edo (she can find SOMETHING on that menu to eat).

It's not really a question of "best" as it is cuisine choice. Il Mulino is better than any Italian in Epcot. Shula's is better than any steak in Epcot. Yachtsman is better than any steak in Epcot. Flying Fish and bluezoo are better than any seafood in Epcot.

They don't mention the chimichurri on the menu description. ;) It came on the side, too, so it could be completely ignored if you wanted (same with the Harissa that comes with the steak).

Spice Road Tables isn't just Moroccan food, as a matter of fact it's very little, it's all about the food all along the spice road and has more of Med. vibe. It's a lot less "exotic" than the Moroccan restaurant, which we love by the way. I agree with another poster that maybe the Japanese restaurant would be good for your group, lots of fun for the kids to watch and you can get basic steak and chicken.

The Swan/Dolphin restaurants are very good - we like Il Mulino and bluezoo. LOVE Kimono's, but I'm guessing the grandparents may not want sushi?

If you want something a little closer and a little different than pizza, Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk is typically a safe bet.

I'm going to put another plug in for Spice Road Table, though. The food is really good and the atmosphere is so lovely. The staff there are also so friendly. It really isn't spicy or exotic, IMHO. The steak is good. The mix grill and lamb sliders are really tasty too!

Echoing @DisneyWishes14 have you thought about leaving Epcot and heading to the Boardwalk area? They are all so close and would give you a chance to try something new, while satisfying the grandparents at the same time. Given what you'd described thus far I'd suggest Beaches and Cream or perhaps trying the revamped Ale and Compass or Crews Cup lounge.

I agree about teppan edo if you want to stay in Epcot. Hibachi is very very accessible with no weird flavors. It's just garlic, butter and some soy sauce and otherwise simply griddled meats, veggies and noodles. It's also a lot of fun and "special" if it's not something you do at home (I do so I wouldn't go there). I personally would not take the time to leave Epcot but I value my precious park time. It would probably kill at least a half hour of time each way depending on where you were in the park when you decided to up and leave.

We loved biergarten but we sat with a family of 6, two parents, two kids and grandparents. The grandparents were VERY simple eaters and very put off by the menu. I tried to suggest the simple roast chicken to them but they were very put off by that point and didn't like what they tried.

For the BW area, I would definitely suggest Trattoria al Forno or Flying Fish. FF may be one of my favorites at WDW now - we were just there in August. Beaches and Cream would be a safe choice, but hard to get a reservation as well. We tried Ale and Compass on our last trip for breakfast and the food was good but we were the only people in the restaurant (random Tuesday AM in late August) which felt so strange for Disney World.

At Epcot, I would put another plug in for Spice Road Table - I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. And you can sell the grandparents on the skewers and sliders as being, well, grilled meat and sliders. It is really not challenging at all. And they can always get something off the very non-adventurous kids' menu if even those were too "exotic."

Tutto Italia would also be a good choice - we haven't eaten there, but took our then-3 yo to the wine cave there on a whim, and had a great meal. I would pick that over Via Napoli if you're unsure - I liked the pizza at Via Napoli just fine, but service was unorganized and slow, and the restaurant was very loud.

Also - Garden Grill, if you haven't been there, is very good. We've been for dinner and for breakfast. Yes there are characters, which is fun, but I'd even go there for the food without the characters.

Rarely anyone suggests it, but we had a fantastic experience at Nine Dragons in Epcot last year. DH and I both love Chinese food and thought it was one of the best meals we had at Disney. Another plus was there were hardly any people there so even if we didn't have an ADR we still probably could've walked up and gotten a reservation.
