Last year we ate at the Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I don't remember having to pick only certain things....maybe I'm just forgetting. Has anyone done this lately and did you have a set meal or limited choices? Thanks.

Not sure when, but I do know that they changed it I thought a while back. That is why we quit doing the package.

We have PS for the BDDP. Am I understanding that you are limited in your dinner choice? You can't order from the reg. dinner menu?

We've done the Fantasmic Dinner package a couple of times a Mama Melrose's and we were never restricted in what we've ordered.

We did Fantasmic in April - we could order from the menu

We did the FDP at Brown Derby in April and we could order anything from the menu. HOWEVER - the package is a set price and includes an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. So you do need to order quite a bit of food in order to get your money's worth. It's much more than we would normally order otherwise; however, I'm embarrassed to admit we usually manage to eat practically everything :o :teeth: We always enjoy our meal there and although I prefer the way the used to do it (when you could order what you pleased and only paid for what you order), I do think it is worth it.

Hi,

We are going in July and would like to know how to make Fantasmic Dining Reservations???

Thanks for the info,

Just call Disney Dining and ask for the Fantasmic Dinner Package--you can choose form Brown Derby , Hollywood and Vine and Mamma melrose. ( Go to www.wdwig.com for menus)

We just did Brown Derby on June 29 and were able to order anything from the regular menu. Each person gets to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert (including Kids from their menu) Adults were 36.99 and kids 9.99. Everything was so delicious we went back for lunch a few days later!!

They will give you a pass to enter Fantasmic a half hour before the show so you don't wait on the line> Just a note we saw some people enter at about 8:50--10 minutes before show time and even though they had FDP there was only standing room left for them!!! So make sure you are there by 8:30!!!

I was really glad we had done the Fantasmic Dinner Package after seeing the many poor souls that had to stand during the show. The line for Fantasmic started forming two-three hours before the show! I was surprised, is it always like that? We didn't go until 45 min before the show though, thanks to our dinner package guaranteed seats, and I was glad we went that early as there is quite a distance to walk for the dinner package reserved seats. Hollywood and Vine was great for dinner, and I think the least expensive of the choices. Good for kids.

We did the dining package a couple of weeks ago, and mostly I wanted to kick myself for not doing this on previous trips. Spending 2 idle hours trying to snag a decent seat for Fantasmic doesn't do much for me, but by doing the dining package we showed up about 35 minutes prior and had seats that were just fine; even though they're way over on one side of the ampitheater (sp?), sightlines were good.

We did Hollywood and Vine, and the variety was wide enough so that everyone found plenty to eat.

However, I just took a quick look at the Brown Derby dinner menu, and if you go with the more expensive items on the menu - crab cakes, rack of lamb, and cheesecake, for example - you can actually save a little money with the dinner package. You've gotta eat like a beast, though (and being at WDW ratchets up my appetite anyway, so no problem here.)

We haven't done a Fantasmic package in several years. It used to be that you could only book it a day or two before the PS. Can I book it, well in advance, thru Disney Dining? That would be a great improvement. We were going to try Mama Melrose, one of our old favorites, but you guys have me thinking about Brown Derby. Only DH & I have eaten there, so it would be a new experience for DSs.

You can book it 90 days in advance, but you'll find the only times available are early (4 - 4:30 p.m.). Once you get inside the 30 day window, the better times open up. We had a 4:20 p.m. at H&V; I called back when we were 21 days away from the date and I had my choice of times! We chose 6:30 p.m. and it's fast approaching - July 12th!! (The latest they'll schedule is 90 minutes prior to the show.) BTW, I did have several CM's tell me the FDP is not available any times but the 4 - 4:30 time frame. Should that happen to you, wait a little while and call back! ;)

Bleh, we have a 3:50pm Brown Derby seating for September 23. If I can't get a later time at the 30 day window, I'm cancelling. That's just not a time of day I'd like to be sitting down for a big dinner, unless it's Thanksgiving.

I made a ps for H&V fantasmic pkg and I have a few ?'s.

First, I did get a 4:00 seating which was fine with me because we plan to skip lunch and make it a late lunch/early dinner kind of thing, saves $$.

This is our first trip to WDW and we want to see all the parades and shows, etc. Does this time cut into the parade time? I noticed on the WDW web site it lists the parade at 3:30 which we would miss if we have the 4:00 but then I noticed on the website here it lists the parade at 5:30. Which time is correct?

Also, I understand that the summer months are the most rainy here. What has the weather been like so far? We'll be there in a couple of weeks and I know that we have that chance that we might get rained out of fantasmic and that would be a bummer. Just wondering what to expect.

we also got locked into the 430 PS but thats ok, what i am wondering is will i get to choose the early or late showing or will they make me take the early one. JUST 4 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago the Studio's parade was at 5:30, I recall ... we were actually waiting on our table at Hollywood and Vine when it, uh, paraded by. Just MHO here, but I think of all three parades, the one at Disney/MGM studios is most expendable.

We did OK on the rain issue - one day, it was raining at MK, but dry as a bone at Epcot. How 'bout that? But June and July are the rainiest months in central Florida, so be prepared. They don't make the call on Fantasmic until the very last minute - I've heard of folks waiting an hour or more just to have a weather cancellation. Darn.

I will say that, in over 100 trips to WDW over the years, this was the HOTTEST I've ever been, with the heat index at 100+. Those spiffy little "mister" fans saved us.

You'll enjoy H&V. This may sound like a strange dish to get excited about, but when we were there one of the sides available was creamed corn spoonbread. Our server said that this was the one item the CM's always fought over. Trust me on this one, if it's available.

FDP is always for the early show. And later seatings tend to open up around 30 days out. Taking the early one is a good idea just in case but then try back for the later if it will be better for you.
