No draft. We no linger have a draft in this country. Conscription requires an act of Congress and you see how much work they get done.
In terms of fuel prices, the US is less dependent in foreign oil than it used to be. We also have a production glut, keeping prices low. Crude is up on the exchange, but don’t expect radical increases over this newest skirmish. To theCanadians who are worried, your fuel prices will likely be higher than ours.
This newest BS is just that and the enemy is no different. We have been fighting proxy wars with Iran for years. Nothing has changed. Theres not going to be a war in the sense some of you are thinking.
on a related note. We have so much access to information these days. Certainly better than when I was a teenager (Gulf 1), yet todays teens and young adults seem to be starving for actual knowledge and valid information. Maybe it's the 24 hour news cycle, the cyclical reinforcement of the “Chicken Little” narrative by the blind leading the blind, with confidence and conviction, in the social media fantasyland, or maybe schools just stopped requiring civics classes to teach kids civics. Maybe all of it, but everyone needs to chill out. This week, is no different than last week or last year when it comes to conflict with Iran.
