Merry Grinchmas!
After our unexpectedly thrilling ride on the carousel, we went in search of the Grinch.
We walked past the book store and decided to check in there because it's where we found him back in 2015.
Lo and behold, we didn't find the Grinch but we did find another friend hanging out and decided to say hi.
(You may notice my Universal refillable cup in my hand. Unlike at WDW where they can only be used at the resort, Universal sells them in the parks and you get unlimited refills on the day you purchase it. After that day, you can bring it back and pay a daily fee to reactivate it or you can pay by the refill. I had purchased it in October and brought it back. If you're a soda drinker like we are, it's definitely worth it and you can even fill it with iCEEs which is awesome on a hot day and really gets the value out of it!)
We weren't 100% sure who this Seuss character was, but some quick googling informed us he was Guy-Am-I (the man who Sam-I-am is trying to convince to try green eggs and ham). #themoreyouknow
We continued on with our search and found a line formed outside Gertrude McFizz Fine Feathered Finery and sure enough, that's where the Grinch was hanging out.
This is where the rain really worked in our favor. The line was only a few families long compared to the 45-60 minute waits we'd seen reported, we only had to wait 6.
And old Grinchy was just as sassy and fun as ever.
He asked us our names and was pleased with Kim - as he said "Perfect, nice and short, one syllable". And was unamused when I said Courtney. Too many letters he says lol. I told him I didn't pick it

After our meet, we walked through the gift shop attached and found another Christmas tree!
It was just about noon and the next Grinchmas show was starting at 12:30 so we didn't want to stray too far out of Seuss land. We decided to go get our cup refilled with an ICEE and then get in line for the show, hoping that we'd be able to wait under cover.
The good news is we were first in line for the next show. The bad news? We were waiting right out in the open.
Luckily, the most amazing team member was working and invited us to share her umbrella with her. She also told us that she and the others working the line had already spoken to their bosses about getting everyone in the theater as soon as they cleared out the previous show. She was seriously awesome and if I wish I knew how to give Universal TM's compliments because she was the best.
True to their word, they herded the audience out of the show as quickly as possible and let us start walking in around 12:10.
I told my sister it felt like walking through the queue to an HHN house, just with Christmas trees lol.
Going into the theater was a very organized process and the TMs led everyone to rows. Despite this, there were some (of course) who had to ignore the instructions and try to seat themselves, especially in the first two rows that they reserved and left empty. If we'd had alcohol with us, it would've made a great drinking game.
We had a perfect view of the stage.
