Hijinks & Shenanigans but not much Mayhem@The Dark Side+Disney:Link to DL/Hawaii TR

Followed you over from the YC&BC thread! :goodvibes Looking forward to reading all about your trip. We hope to do a Universal/WDW split next summer. :thumbsup2

:welcome:

Thanks for coming over.

We really liked the split stay. We did the Universal portion of the trip first because it gave us an opportunity to get together with Teena, but visiting Disney first would have had some advantages. If one of your family members is still cutting his teeth on thrill rides, it is better to start with RNR, ToT and Everest before working up the nerve for Hulk and Dueling Dragons.

The Universal Express Pass would also be appreciated more later in the trip, since we were so exhausted.

:thumbsup2

Sigh..... I guess I'll read it....

;)

~NM

:rolleyes2

I guess I'll :welcome: you!

Look forward to your comments!!!

;)

Lets get this party started!!!!:banana::banana::jumping1::rockband::figment:

:welcome:

Thanks for joining in!

:goodvibes

Yay!! Although it was sad when your trip ended, I was excited because I knew your trip report would soon begin.

Soooo, Yay!!! Can't wait to read all about the hijinks and especially the shenanigans. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

(I will work hard to show more enthusiasm than NinjaMom in all of my posts!)

:welcome:

As you will see on the BC board- we revised and improved our "string-bag theory" We didn't actually use the DTD-boat-EP route to return to the BC since we had such limited time on our trip. We took a cab. It didn't s*ck!

:lmao:

I'm here and subbing!

:welcome: Scott!

I have lots of CL photos- let me know if you want me to post any over on your thread when you see them.

:thumbsup2 Not like one of those TV movies you watch for 2 hours and when it's over you look at each other and say "That's it?" :thumbsup2

:cool2: Bring it Dee lady! :cool2:

:welcome: Mike!

So glad you are here!

We had another "You can't go to the front of the park moment" Someone at ToT needed FP advice- Mark was going to send him to me, but he handled it on his own.

:goodvibes

I was hoping you'd do a trip report! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Hard Rock, since I haven't been there since 2006.

We still don't know where in Orlando LeakyCon 2014 will be, but I'd love to hear about HRH in case that's one of the hotels which will be affiliated with the conference.

- Best Aunt

:welcome:

Here's the short version of my review of the Hard Rock: Loved it!!!

LeakyCon sounds like a blast. :wizard:

Great opening, can't wait for the rest!

:welcome: and thanks!!!

:goodvibes

Two of my favorite resorts!! Can't wait for this report. :):goodvibes

:welcome:

I totally agree! We loved the Hard Rock and the Beach Club! It was an awesome split.

:cool1:

Joining in Dee! Can't wait to read along.....

:welcome:

Thanks for joining in!!!

:yay:

Miss you already!

:welcome:

Miss you, too!

Truly, our dinner was one of the highlights of our trip! We all walked away saying how much fun it was. The boys tagged along while mom caught up with a friend, but they walked away saying what a great night they had!

Joining in - sounds like a fun TR ahead!! :thumbsup2

:welcome:

So glad to have you here!!!

:)

Joining in. Can't wait to read along

:welcome:

Thanks for joining in!

:woohoo:

Can't wait to read all about it Dee!! :)

:welcome:

Too bad we couldn't find a way to meet. Hope you are still enjoying your time in Florida.

We always get a lot of flak for planning a trip to Florida in July, but we lucked out on our timing this year. It was hotter and more uncomfortable back home than it was in Orlando. And we arrived home just as the heat wave broke.

Who knew we would have to travel to Florida in July to dodge a heat wave?

:lmao:

Can't wait to read your report! You are hilarious and have a way with words :lmao:

:welcome:

And thanks so much for those kind words!

When I am done here I am going to start working on my photopass pictures. Be warned- I have already been chastised by Cathy for not warning her about my smoochie pictures in the account.

:rotfl:

First, this is seriously funny. I'm still laughing as I type.

Dee, there is so much I love about your first post. Love that Nate was so appreciative and in good spirits throughout the trip - so heartwarming, and I know how much that means to you. Love the anniversary photo "with poncho." Love that you returned to BC. Love that Ben got in more Disney time. While we've given up on commando (more pool time now, tons of ADRs, etc.) I can still relate to the "no shopping" because I have three boys. :) All great, and of course, looking forward to following along (as long as you keep reminding me when you post an update!)

P.S. While I like hijinks and shenanigans, we've also become very fond of "ballyhoo" lately. Any of that?

:welcome:

We had such a great trip!!!

The anniversary picture is one of my favorites, poncho and all. There was supposed to be a Photopass photographer at the dessert party, but the rain hampered that.

Apparently, it cracked Mark up that I coordinated my wardrobe to the places we were visiting: Jimmy Buffet shirt for Margaritaville, Gryffindor shirt for WWoHP, Beach Club shirt when we checked in, fireworks shirt at the dessert party.

Helloooo! We have known each other for 30 plus years and been married for 27. You didn't see that coming???

I'll have to go back and think about whether there was any "ballyhoo" :)

:goodvibes

Hi Dee! It's only taken me until page 3 to join!

Glad you had a great time! I'm looking forward to your 'mother of the year' award recipient... this will be good. ;)

How wonderful that you were able to meet up with Teena at Captain's Grille. I still have the photo of Em and me with Teena a couple years ago so I need an updated version next month!! :thumbsup2

:welcome:

So glad you are here!

As I mentioned in your TR, I thought of you as I passed "your" room as we walked by the Yacht Club.

I have that picture of you and Em and Teena, too!!! We had such a wonderful dinner with Teena!

For those of you wondering about the Mother of the Year- can't wait to get to the chapter where a mom left two of her kids alone in the Winnie The Pooh line!

:scared1:

I'm in! Great intro., but I have to ask - no dancing? :)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

:welcome:

The "No Dancing" sign at Disney I posted in the intro appears in a few of the trip reports I follow.

:)

Hiya Dee I finally made it-better late than never :thumbsup2

Ditto everything Pixarmom said just have to add that "refuses to participate" had me rolling with laughter:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds like great craic was had by all -can't wait for more:goodvibes

:welcome:

No worries! I figure with time zone difference you are here right on time!

I still smile whenever I look at the "Refuses to Participate" photo. As part of the Photo Connect Package, we get one printed picture and this was the obvious choice! The guy who printed it out loved it, too.

:lmao:

I think I have 40 plus pictures in my account over the 2 1/2 days we were at US/IoA.

:thumbsup2

Oh yeah Dee...it's called Zax bypass! I wrote something about that shortcut in your 'muggles' thread a day or two before you left for Orlando. Now that I think of it I think I took a picture of the sign to remember haha! We used that route out too.

Kerry

I took pictures too and I'll post them when I get to that point.

I remember you posting that helpful info in my previous report.

Can't wait to follow along! I haven't been frequenting the Beach Club boards bc I have been cheating on you all with the cruise line :duck: Going on our second cruise in January (7 day Fantasy Eastern)

You tell a great story Dee!

We went to Universal last year after our split stay in Disney (Hard Rock & Yacht Club). We were having a coffee outside at Starbucks by Beetlejuice and I said "I want to go back to Disney" we checked out of HR and back to YC for 2 more days. We just love Disney so much more than Universal.

I'm here and am looking forward to hearing all about the hijinks and shenanigans! What the heck do you mean there's no dancing while on vacation? Oh my! My family would so be in trouble if that were a real rule. :rotfl:

Glad to hear you are enjoying the cruising life. The Beach Club board continues to be active and entertaining!

I'm all in Dee!!! Can't wait to read all about it!

:welcome: Jay!

So glad to have you here!

Can you guess what my special purchase at the BC Marketplace was?

:goodvibes

Looking forward to reading about your adventures :)

:welcome: Dawn and thanks.

:welcome:

I'm glad to hear you were able to make it back to Disney/YC when you discovered you had enough of Universal. We were very pleased with the split we booked. About the right amount of time at each place, but I think if it had worked out, doing Disney first would have been slightly better for us.

:cool2:

I will give you and your family special dispensation to break the "No Dancing" rule!

And here are 3 bananas dancing suggestively to get you started!

(For those of you who haven't figured me, Ninja Mom out, I'm ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) )

Dee, as for your trip report.... I just have one thing to say... Those zip lock bags better be filled with pretzel bread and other menu items "liberated" from the restaurants! (especially the buffets!! :stir: ) Never mind the ponchos.... Soggy people are one thing but soggy pretzel bread is a crime against humanity.

OK, I have two things to say. There had better be refillable mugs in this trip report. I want to hear about how you lugged them hither and yon and filled them with all manner of alcoholic delicacies while riding the boring rides like Spaceship Earth and that ride in Canada where they show the movie, you know, the one where the room spins when you've emptied that refillable mug of too many Margaritas. (See! Nobody has figured out that those theaters in the round really ARE rides.)

I'd also like to see lots of action in this trip report. Don't give us any of that "I went on the Tower of Terror and it was really FUN!". I want to hear about how you stole the hat off of the CM and cut through the line screaming chants learned from international tour groups.

Finally, I want to hear a lot of complaints. There aren't nearly enough complaints posted on the Dis Boards so lets hear it! Don't hold anything back! If the sheets were too white I want to hear about it! If the crew from CSI examined your room and found a rogue cat hair, I want to hear how you got Disney to comp you for the whole trip because you threw SUCH a Hissy fit, Bob Iger himself came to your room and ran the vacuum.

As for the pictures I'd like to see many out of focus, half eaten, food pictures and lots of pictures of awkward towel animals. You know, the ones that Mouse keeping makes that apparently are not found in nature, like the "Platty Mouse" and the "Ele-fish".

In the shenanigans department I'd love it if there was a story in your trip report about how you artfully applied plops of sunscreen to those reserved but unoccupied Storm Along Bay chairs and made it look like those Seagulls from Finding Nemo had really bad Mexican food and left a 100 reasons why people shouldn't hog the chairs.

OK that's enough from me. BRING IT Dee! Lets get cracking on this trip report and for God's sake it best not be boring! Make it up if you have to, embellish and especially steal from others to make it interesting. And none of this "I'll post another chapter after a 2 week hiatus" bull. I want to see a chapter every 3 days, even if it isn't from your actual trip. Now keep in mind that if I don't see regular reports from you I MAY have to take over your trip report and provide all the dirty details myself. If it comes to that it's not going to be pretty or even remotely true so get to posting!

That is a nice picture of you and your husband at the dessert party! Looking forward to hearing more! :thumbsup2

I am going to try to get started on an actual update this morning. According the following post, I've got deadlines!!!

I went back and amended my chapter links post- I have a few preview chapters listed now.

Some great ideas, there!!! Love the sunscreen plops on the chairs- that's some classic shenanigans right there.

There were some hijinks involving tour groups.

You will be sorely disappointed with my beverage of choice inside my refill mug.

And absolutely no worries- there will be food porn!!! Some of it in focus, but for you I will post an out of focus picture of a mostly-eaten lobster slider- I forgot to remove the top roll and take a picture until there was just a bite or two left.

We had a LOT of towel animals, but none of the pornographic ones like CT Disney received back in April. I don't know how much you need to tip to get that.

:thumbsup2

Close- in one of the drawers with our sleeping stuff.

Flat Ben and Flat Dee both made it to Orlando but sadly neither made it out of the suitcase.

We really liked the dessert party and that pictures is one of my favorites!
