Hospice information

Hi all, I am in need of some information. What should I look for in choosing a Hospice company? Thanks for any and all replies.

Let the people know around you, friends, co-workers and relatives, get there personal experience with ones they dealt with

Meet the people who will/might be caring for your loved one. A face to face meeting will tell you a ton about the organization.

Talk to people who have used them before. My DMIL was so bad, I would never recommend them. My moms was OK and I would give them a recommendation. It’s a stressful time and you need someone helpful, not someone causing more stress.

Although sometimes difficult, try to speak directly to the people who will be helping you. You have to get along with them and be able to commicate easily or it will be very frustrating.

Make sure you understand what they’re able to offer and (maybe more importantly) what they are not. If you’re working through a hospital, the palliative care team should be able to offer assistance in making a decision based on what they believe will be needed.
