Is it almost time? A pre-trip report.

I've been looking at a few of the other Pre-Trip reports and I have decided to make one of my own.
Here's the basic information:
Who:
Brittany, my sister, Becky, my mom, Diane, my mom's friend, and Hayley, me.
823501d4.jpg

This is Diane, Brittany, and me.
6fd03a71.jpg

And this is me, my mom, and Brittany. [excuse the black scribbling.]
We're all from Asheville, North Carolina. My sister is 19, turning 20 in August.. My mom would probably kill me if I told anyone her age, and Diane probably would too. I'm 15, turning 16 in September. Last year is the first time we'd ever gone on vacation with Diane, and it was pretty fun. So we decided to possibly take her again this year, if the budget allows. We like trying on hats and making funny faces. :)
What:
Well, we all know that!
When:
July 3-July 10; it's going to be super hot, but that's the only time everybody had a week off for summer. Except for me of course, I don't have a job.
Where:
Caribbean Resort

I'll post our diner reservations once I find them. And I'll continue updating throughout the time we have left to wait.

July 3 - Planet Hollywood for supper/dinner.
July 4 - The Plaza for lunch.
July 5 - The Tusker House for breakfast.
July 6 - The Sci-fi for supper/dinner.
July 7 - The Liberty Tree for lunch.
July 8 - Tony's Town Square for supper/dinner.
July 9 - Beaches and Creme, unknown time.
July 10 - T-Rex Restaurant, unknown time.

I haven't been the Disney World that much. The first time I went for one day when I was 2 because my real dad had been in a car accident and the family didn't want us to worry. It sounds horrible, but I don't remember it. We only went for the day, so we didn't stay at a resort.
The second time we went I was 8. It was Brittany, my mom, my real dad, and I. We stayed in the Caribbean Resort. And it was the happiest the whole family had been in a while. It was the first year I rode any ride that wasn't "State-Fair Material" and I went down Summit Plummet [i got a tee-shirt for being brave].
The third time didn't happen for a long while after that. Was in 2007 and I was 12 and I went with Brittany, my mom, and Alvin, -.-''. We stayed in the All Star Movies.
The fourth time was in 2008, and I was 13. I went with Brittany, my mom, Alvin, -.-'', and Diane. We stayed in the Port Orleans French Quarter. That was the first time I had ridden the Rock-N-Roller Coaster.
This will be our fifth time going.

More coming soon..hopefully

Brittany - She's 19 years old, and is in college. She has a boyfriend, and likes to hang out with me. She's very opinionated, and is a constant people watcher.

Becky[Momma] - She's loved Disney all her life. Even though she's getting older, she still loves going there. Her favorite movie is Alice in Wonderland. She has a tattoo of mickey on her foot. Also a people watcher.

Diane - She had never been a real big Disney fan. She was in grade school with my mom. She then worked with my mom, and went to Disney with us last year. Yet another people watcher.

Me - I'm 15 years old, and I'm in high school. I've been to Disney five times. I freak out in crowds, so going to Disney is a bit difficult. And yes, I'm a people watcher too.

[Now I'm figuring I should've named this The People Watchers Go to Disney]

More coming soon.

Regarding the places we're eating [ Planet Hollywood, The Plaza, The Tusker House, The Sci-fi, The Liberty Tree, Tony's Town Square, Beaches and Creme T-Rex Restaurant] what's good to eat there? I've only been to Planet Hollywood, Beaches and Creme, and The Sci-Fi. So any advice helps. :)

The trip to Disney World will take about 9 and a half hours. Depending on how much we stop. It's 600.56 miles from my house, to the Caribbean Resort. This is the first year that my momma is going to let Brittany drive part of the way down there.
Either on our way there, or on our way home we'll go to some outlets and shop in Florida.

FROM THE BACK SEAT OF THE TAURUS

This is the first time we're taking any thing smaller than a SUV. It'll be a tight fit, unless my mom plans on renting a U Haul. Which I doubt she'll do. On our past trips my mom has made my sister and I coloring books filled with Disney characters. And she's packed us a box of fun and games. Now that we're older we pack our own bags of fun things to do. This year in my 'take-along' I'm planning to pack:
• My Ipod & charger.
• My phone charger.
• My camera & charger.
• A notebook & things to write with.
• A coloring book.
• A few books to read.
• A blanket, pillow, and Rumps.

My mama will have us snacks and drinks in a little red cooler, so things don't melt or get hot. This is yet another reason I love my mama! She's always looking out for me and Brittany.

I'm not doing too good with my pre-trip report, so I'm going to try and make it better, coming soon!

Hi Haley
good start to your pre trip report-
Love the pic of ya'll on the 'coaster' in AK
Good planning on what to bring in the car--wish mine would plan ahead but then there wouldn't be drama and we all know how we love drama--NOT
What part of the trip is Brittney driving--now that my eldest is 'grown'(she is 23) we were thinking of letting her drive some of the way--but only when there isn't a lot of traffic--

Hi Hayley!! Good job with your PTR so far. Regarding your ADRs... you have some of my favorite places!! I am OBSESSED with Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre... we must must must go there on every single trip. On our next trip I think we may go twice. Actually. Just love it there. You MUST get a milkshake there and at Beaches & Cream. My family has tried to figure out which is better. You see they are almost exactly the same but I think at Sci-Fi they are a SMIDGE better. Both though... are amazing and exceed ANY other milkshake on the planet, anywhere.

I also must say... I LOVE Planet Hollywood. I haven't been to the one at Disney since 2004 b/c there is one right where I work in Manhattan, but the food is the same at every PH. New Yorkers generally avoid it because they say it is a tourist trap. Personally I don't care, I enjoy the place as a movie fan and I LOVE LOVE LOVE their famous chicken crunch. It is beyond delicious.

As for the other places... I haven't been to any except Tony's, but not in ages. We had an ADR for LTT on our recent trip but didn't make it. I was going to get the Tavern Fried Cheese as an app and the William Penn Chicken Pasta as my main... that I know! I suggest you check out the Restaurants Board, especially the reviews and Food Porn thread. It will help a lot and also make you very hungry! ;)

And I think my mom is probably going to let her drive on the interstate [:scared1:] because we're going right when she gets off, and her work is right by the interstate. I think it's a good idea to let your daughter drive there. She needs the practice because she may want to take her own kids one day!

I've never had a milkshake from Disney! So that's a MUST! And what exactly is a chicken crunch? lol. Whenever we go my family usually sticks with chicken and burgers. This is the first year we're trying new things!
I didn't even know there was a post on here like that.
*goes off in search of the restaurants board & food porn thread*:rolleyes1

So I was going to post a few pics. of our previous trips, but the two I posted are the only ones that survived our computer malfunction we had a few months ago. I think we have them on disks, so if we do I"ll post some. :( So, for this trip I'm sure my mom and I will have enough pictures to make up for all the past trips.

Since I can't post any pictures, I guess I'll post the different rides we must go on, aren't too sure about going on, and etc.

{Magic Kingdom}
We Simply Must Ride The:
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. [We've found it's best to ride later in the day because the grease on the tracks has been melted and it goes faster]
• The Teacups!
• It's A Small World. [For my mom.]
• Peter Pan's Flight.
• BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! [I'm pretty amazing at that]
• Jungle Cruise
• Tiki Birds

Not Too Sure About Riding:
• Splash Mountain
• Space Mountain [For me, how is it?]

I Absolutely Do Not Like But Am Being Forced To Ride:
• Haunted Mansion.

{Epcot}
We Simply Must Ride The:
• Soarin'
• Test Track [Because the past times we've said we were going to, and either chickened out, the line got too long, or it was raining.]
• The Seas With Nemo

{Hollywood Studios//MGM}
We Simply Must Ride The:
• Toy Story Midway Mania

Not Too Sure About Riding:
• Rock-N-Roller Coaster [Everybody but my mother rode this last year...not too sure about it again. It was just dark...that's all I remember]

{Animal Kingdom}
We Simply Must Ride The:
• KALI RIVER RAPIDS! [What's better than getting soaked on a hot day??]
• Kilimanjaro Safaris.
• Festival Of The Lion King

I Absolutely Do Not Like But Am Being Forced To Ride:
• It's Tough To be a Bug.

Along the way we'll certainly pick out other rides to ride though!

Subbing Hayley! Great start!

I absolutely despise It's Tough To Be A Bug. I am so scared of wasps, and when that part comes, it terrifies me! (Not to mention that it actually hurts!)

Hey, thanks!

Every time I go I end up holding my self up on the arms of my seat just so I don't have to endure that. I did it when I was 8 thinking it'd be cool...no. It just scarred me for life!

Chicken crunch is kind of like chicken fingers but eight zillion times better. If you love chicken you will love it.

and Space Mountain is a MUST do for us!! It's one of my favorites... what is worrying you?

Haley
Have you tried riding BTMR at night? It is even better then!
Space and Splash Mountains are great fun--if you are still unsure about space try riding the peoplemover-it goes thru the ride....as roller coasters go it really is tame--in the 'coaster world.
You can go to You tube and search on the rides and get pov ride on lots of them--there is even a computer version on rock-n-roller by imagineer0988 that might help you decide.
Like you list--sounds like you have done a lot of reaseach.

Alright, I will most definitely have to try it then!
And I'm not sure about it because my mom's friend said she rode it and accidentally peed her pants, and then a grown man was crying behind her.

I haven't tried riding it at night.
And I've ridden the people mover but I never pay that much attention to Space Mountain. I just see the bright colors.

I found some disks of Disney pictures!
I haven't had time to upload them all, and since it's 3am I'm only going to post a few:)

What does Disney mean to me?
It's a place that you can go and all your worries will just go away.
You just think about having fun with the people you're there with and what rides you're going to ride.
It's a place where people are happy, and nothing bothers them.
It's where you can look as bad as you possibly can, and nobody says anything. (not to you at least)
It's where you can act like a goofball and have a fun time and nobody will judge you.
Because they are having the same kind of fun you're having. :D

Today I was informed that Brittany isn't going with us to Disney. :(

Every time we go, she goes with us, but this year she would rather go to the beach with her friend. I mean, I don't guess I can blame her. She is nearly 20. So now, I'm not sure if we're even going. And if we do, I don't know how fun it'll be. My mom can't ride the EXCITING rides because she has panic attacks. So we'll probably get stuck riding Dumbo & It's A Small World over and over. We still don't know if Diane's going to go with us. If she does that's not going to be too great either. Because if me and her decide to ride a thrill ride my mom would have to wait for us, and that wouldn't be too fun for her. And I always ride BTMR with Brittany. I've never ridden it without her. So that's going to suck.

Well, if anything else changes I'll be sure to post about it.

Amen!! I agree with everything you said, but I especially love this observation because in my normal life I am a very dressy, girly girl.. always with the full on make-up and hair and all that. At Disney I throw my hair up in a pony tail and put on comfortable casual clothes and i'm good to go! It's something I so look forward to, not having to get all done up! It sounds silly but it's truly the little things sometimes. :)

:goodvibes
Same for me!

Alright. More preparations.

Before we go we're going to see if I can find some AMAZING Disney songs on the computer so I can burn them to CDs.

On the way there we'll probably listen to those.
If you have any suggestions that'd be great! :)
