January Exercise Challenge-Start the New Year Off Right!!!

Hello and Happy New Year to all my exercising Wish buddies!!! :yay: Its a new year and time for a new US!!! So to help us get there, we will keep up with the exercise challenges. If you have been here before, welcome back. If you are new to the challenge, we are glad to have you join in.

So once again, here's how it works. Post up how much exercise you are committed to doing for this month. It can be minutes, miles whatever. The milestones are as follows:

10% blue
25% green
50% purple
75% orange
90% red
100% silver
Over 100% gold

When you post up your numbers, please do so in this format: 100/1200 (minutes done/goal). It is really helpful if I don't have to do any math.

In addition, for anyone who is interested, we will be doing a 2008 challenge-how many minutes/miles for the entire year. I will keep track of your monthly totals and track the year long ones as well. So as an added incentive, post up how much exercise you want to do in '08. Remember this is all for fun and to motivate us a little more to get off the couch and get moving. It shouldn't stress you out!!!

Since I was no where near my goal last month, I am stepping it up this month. I am in for 1100 minutes for January, and will say that I am going to try for 15,500 minutes for the year. A lofty goal, perhaps, but I can do it!!!

Ok I'm in! I've got to get this off to a good start so my goal for January will be 1500. My yearly goal will be 18000.
 
Okay, I fell apart in December due to bad weather, a trip to Disney, the flu and now bronchitis!!! It was a rough month. I'm back in for January!

I will shoot for 1000 minutes again--I know I can do it. For the year, I will shoot for 15,000 minutes.

For this month I'm going to shoot for 700 minutes, I'm going to be conservative since I'm just getting back to the gym after 6+ months off...

For the year I'm going to say 10,000 minute. I also want to walk/jog/run 1000 miles this year and swim 10 miles.
 


A Gold's Gym is opening up across the street from my office. My ultimate goal is 60 minutes each day after work. Unfortunately, they aren't open yet. Hopefully by next week. So for January my goal is a very modest 600 minutes. For the year 12,000 minutes. No mileage. My cardio is going to be varied.

I'm in! This will be my first time to participate. I am going to start with 600 minutes. I really have never kept track before so this will be interesting.:rolleyes1
 
Okay I'm a newbie here. Don't know how this will work really but after doing some calculations on this I will shoot for 700 for this month and add from there for the remainder of the year. I don't have the figures for the year but put me down for Jan. 0/700 right now.
 
I am in for 1400 again this month. Spent lots of time shoveling this morning, so I have exercised for 90/1400 for January. :)

I am going to try for 1500 minutes of exercise for the month of January. :thumbsup2

I clearned the house some today, as well. I got on my knees and cleaned the Kitchen and Bathroom floor. I also cleaned my Workout room tile floor. I also vacuumed and did dishes. I am going to say that I did 30 mins so far.

When I get off of work tonight around 11:00 I am going to work out, I will get back to you with that :)
 
I'm in for 1000 minutes for the month. I am totally starting over this year I've attempted do the exercise challenge a few times. I joined a gym last May but only went for about a month before I gave up I'm in for good this time. Both me and my mom are on a diet together so its hopefully going to make it a little easier. :cool1:

sign me up for 700 minutes per month 10,000 for the year. I want to start off slow and build up. Did my DDR today for a start of 20/700 minutes!!
 
I've been doing well on WW, but haven't been exercising, and I really need to add exercising in. I'll start small for January.

500 minutes.

I'm thinking small, so I am not going to put down a yearly goal.
