lanyards question

I know that in Disney World they use magic bands is that the same on the ship or do we need to have a lanyardd to use and if we use the lanyard do we need a plastic holder to put our cruise card in

I usually bring my own lanyards unless the cruise line offers it. I don't know if it has changed but up until my last DCL cruise (April 2017), if you were silver castaway club member (or higher), you would get one.

Also, DVC members get a free lanyard, even if it's your first cruise! I like the small pouch with a zipper on top can fit my phone and a few little things and has a plastic pouch out front for my room key. Also, convenient for excursions. Just ordered one for my husband for our panama canal excursions.
