Mother Gothel is the villain in Tangled. As Flynn Rider explains, “This woman, Mother Gothel, hoarded the flower's healing power and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years. And all she had to do was sing a special song.” The problem is the flower's healing power ended up in Rapunzel's hair, so Mother Gothel actually hoarded Rapunzel - - - in a tower for several years.

Maleficent is an evil fairy and the antagonist in Disney's 1959 animated feature film, Sleeping Beauty. However, she is also the protagonist of the 2014 live action film that bears her name. Personally, I prefer Maleficent's story in the more recent film. Which film features your favorite version of Maleficent?

Mother Gothel was originally supposed to be voiced by Grey Delisle (Avatar: the Last Airbender animated series fans know her as Azula), but Donna Murphy ultimately landed the role. Here's a short clip of Donna Murphy in behind the scenes footage for Mother Knows Best:

WDW fans of Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anastasia can meet them in person - along with Cinderella and her prince - at 1900 Park Fare. Our family met them about 1.5 years ago, and we enjoyed them very much.

Eleanor Audley voiced Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty. She was also the voice of Lady Tremaine in Cinderella and Disneyland's original Haunted Mansion ride's Madame Leota.

We only have about a week left in May. I'll be so sad to say goodbye to the villains! This has been such a fun month and a GREAT group! But, it's nearly time for a new month and a new host. Any takers for June?
