Hugs from Kansas!!!
Right back at ya Alice.......think we all need them!!!
Hugs from Kansas!!!
Yes this is all so unreal, I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone or something. It seems to just keep getting worse. Sorry to hear that you are probably going to have to cancel May, I was so looking forward to meeting you. However I understand. I have a little time I feel to make my decision. I just don't know what to do at this moment, it is so hard to tell what is going to happen at this point. Hope that you are all well.
Happy Happy Birthday!
Here is my positivity for the day. Had Universal not closed we would not have rescheduled to May. If May doesnt work I booked for the second weekend in December. Whether it is May or December, I have the chance to run into you Carole and get a picture; ME, getting a picture with The Carole and Tom.
Aw, I'm so sorry We officially cancelled our trip today so I understand. But at least we'll both be there for HHN!
That's how we felt too.
Hi Carole (and Tom) we were just discussing Orlando and wondered when you were off next, sad to hear your next trip won't happen such scary times atm
But we are hoping and praying September happens as you are no doubt xx
Hey @schumigirl! I’m sorry about your cancellation. I’ll have to take a rain check on our DisMeet!
I’m supposed to go to a conference in DC the end of May. I’m sure it will get cancelled, which is a fine with me. My son has an engineering and construction camp in CO the end of June. I’m hoping that won’t be cancelled.
So sorry you had to cancel, I’m sure I will be canceling our end of April trip. I don’t have much invested at this time so I will wait some before totally canceling.
This is such a stressful time.
We hope to do our usual August trip so that is something to look forward to. I just can’t fathom being in lockdown for months and months, that really will stink!
Looking fwd to reading more as this morphs to Sept. I have fingers - and everything else - crossed that HHN still happens. I don't know how they're going to get those houses done as they'd normally be well underway by now, but it's amazing what UO can probably do with the sizable team, talent and money they have to throw at a problem. lol.
I am now so grateful that we squeezed in one more trip under the wire - just came back a couple of weeks ago from Mardi Gras while it was still considered safe to be there- fabulous time, great concerts - so thankful we were able to do it. 10 days later, the park officially closed.
Now if we could just get the selfish spring breakers the heck out of Fla - they're still packed like sardines on the beaches, despite all the warnings and spreading it here and to their loved ones when they return home. I think the governor is going to do a state-wide shelter in place any day now, as too many visitors aren't listening to the warnings.
But enough negativity...onward to HHN! Everyone stay safe!
Was is the Math Kangaroo competition? I was in charge of ours and had hoped it would still get to go on as we only had 27 students registered at our location. Friday the 13th I was making final arrangements with teachers and the principal we got an email that after school stuff was closed for a few weeks, and then a few hours later heard that schools were closing for a few weeks. It's a real bummer. So far... Davy had a math competition canceled (and he's freaking out that he may have had his last days at middle school).
Finally made it here!! I'm so excited to start reading about your plans!
Alas, I read about your trip being cancelled so sorry! Maybe it's for the best, I don't know but I feel we will all be better off once we get control of this situation. Really hoping September works out for you with the airlines, parks and HHN. We have plans for October, so right there with in crossing fingers and sending good vibes out for HHN.
Of course it would be okay with me if you did a May trip report anyways.. sort of an imaginary trip report. Tell us about all the places you and Tom were planning to go eat, types of wine, chocolate cakes and all about the adventures planned. Stay safe!
I'm so sorry you had to cancel. Just wanted to pop by here and let you know I'm thinking about you on the other side of the pond. We have some family in the UK and it seems pretty bad over there, but at least they seem to be starting to take it more seriously! Hang in there and I look forward to reading whatever you write about!! It's always fun!
What about your part of the world?? Is it being hit badly with the virus and grocery stores taking a hit too?
I`ll get this moving soon.....and look forward to seeing you here again...….take care.....
