We went on Pirates (again)-- which was a walk on (again)...

I hate when it's not a walk on.
That queue, when it moves slowly, is pretty gloomy.

my favorite scene:

I think, for me, it's a toss up between that or the redhead.

Then we went over to BTMRR which was nearly a walk on. We only had to wait for 1 train.

Nice.
I'll never forget the first time I rode BTMRR.
The queue was all the way through the twisty bits and down the mountain.

I think it took us an hour or two to ride it.

Plus it was stinking hot.

Not something I care to repeat.

We went in Gaston's because Moose wanted a bottle of water... and while we were in there, no one was sitting in Gaston's chair!
FINALLY! Picture time!

Well, someone looks fairly relaxed!

Then we went over to Space Mountain- which was down. What does that mean?!
TWICE in ONE trip we road the people mover through Space Mountain with the lights on. Who gets that lucky?!

That's our Becky.
Thrilled to pieces that she doesn't get to go on the ride she wants.

So--- after we had gotten dressed, we checked the weather to see if we should take our ponchos. It looked like it had stopped raining... so we decided to leave the ponchos in the room.

Usually, that's a sure fire way to guaranty that it'll rain.

Our reservation time was 8:15… and we left the room around 7:30.

Perk to staying on site.
If you were off site, the conversation would be more like this:
"Well, I guess we should head out now if we want to make it there on time."
"What? Now? Our reservation isn't until 8:15... tomorrow!"
"I know."

We went down to the boat dock and took the boat over to the campgrounds, where the Hoop Dee Doo REVUE is.

Smidgy will be so proud of you.

We had about a 30 minute wait.

See? 15 minutes!

When they finally opened the doors, we got the table right as you walk the doors... the very back of the house.

Is that a good thing? How was the view?

Our waiter, Bob, brought us a pewter bucket of salad (which already came with Italian dressing on it and some cornbread which was pretty good (no where near as good as Boatwrights thought)... and butter as an appetizer.

I do not think I could eat butter as an appetizer...

Drinks were all you could drink (included in the price)... AWESOME! I had sangria and Moose had Yeunglings (anyone seeing a pattern here?)

::yes::

The view from our seats... and our waiter who happened to step right in the way at just the wrong time.

No, no, no!
This is how you need to write that:
"Our waiter was always moving so fast that nobody could take a picture of him. But I managed to catch him as he stepped right in the perfect spot at just the right time!!!"

We were given a menu-- and this being our first time we were trying to decide what we wanted to eat.

When Bob came back to our table, he took our drink orders and then he explained to us that it all came and you could eat as much or little as you wanted.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!??! OMG! :scared1:

:lmao: I don't know what's funnier.
You're reaction, or mine. (I didn't know about the menu either.)

Of course, about that time, the stagecoach pulled up outside with the performers... who BUSTED DOWN THE DOOR behind us!

Did they startle you?
Or were you thrilled?

but the corn- I SWEAR it's drenched in butter! (but I'm NOT complaining)

I should hope not!
Drenched in butter is the only way to eat corn. :snooty:

We really enjoyed the part where they make fun of the states where people come from.. that was pretty funny.

So, I take it they were asking where people were from?
Any out-of-countryers?

Then, they did birthdays and anniversaries. Oddly- everyone clapped for everyone's anniversary EXCEPT ours... what is that about!? 1 year, 7 years, 14 years, 20, 25 and we had a couple who had been married 55 years! Okay, I can understand applause for 1 year and 25 and definitely 55 years-- but for everyone BUT us?! That was a little rude.

Either clap for everyone.. or no one. Don't leave people out.
Especially not friends of mine!

(You shoulda got a free FP or something...)

Then, at the end they bring out washboards for you to play the spoons on... and then sing along with them.
Me with our washboard:

Cute pic.
But I thought you played either spoons.. or the washboard with thimbles on your fingers.

We needed to be rolled to the boat dock because we had eaten (and drank) so much!

I know that feeling!

Oh, how I know that feeling.

Can you see the "bear's face"?

::yes::

This may not work... but when we got back to our room we could see the fireworks from our balcony. Here's the video of that.

Nope. Didn't work.

Stay tuned! Tomorrow is our last real day... we go on every ride in the MK that we didn't get to on the "do it all" day... and some that we did... and we eat at a place neither of us have been before.

Thanks for reading along!
See ya real soon!

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Great pics! :goodvibes
Thank you!

I love hoop de doo! It's such a fun show.

I am so surprised no one clapped for your anniversary. You're right - How Rude! Seriously?

Love the night time pics from the WL. So pretty!
I know... it actually made Moose pretty upset.

I showed my DD19 your pic from Gaston's with your DH in Gaston's chair. I wanted that pic so bad when we were there, but another family was sitting in the chair, just chatting and enjoying themselves. Didn't they realize that it was a photo op? I needed that pic of myself in the chair! Obviously, I survived the disappointment. Like I need another reason to return to WDW....
We went in there probably 3 or 4 times and EVERY time there was someone in the chair... EXCEPT THIS TIME!

So I'm at work...
The computer tells me I have to install an update....

1st- I'm sorry your computer rebooted... that sucks.

2nd- Becky- BLEH! I HATE that name! Just so we're clear.... I'll let you off with a warning, but next time you will be court marshaled and then horse-whipped.

3rd- I don't recall there being anyone from Canada... but they had one from Hawaii and she said "we don't get many of ya'll 'round these parts! Nice that you swam so far to see us!"

4th- sorry the video didn't work... I wish I could figure out how to get the video to work... although, to be fair, the video wasn't the best quality anyway. I actually think THIS: pixiedust: may be better quality than the video.

Can't wait to write about our last day at WDW. This is the fastest I've ever been done with a TR.

Duly noted, Becks. (okay, I'll stop now)
Not a fan of Tom Sawyer I take it????

There are ways, though....
I did figure out a workaround to see it... and I did.
And I liked it, too.

If I hadn't known where and how it was shot, I might've been a tad confused, but since I did....

It has gone by quick!

Narrator: This was the beginning of the end for our friends- their last day in the most magical place on Earth.

So, this morning we slept in... yes... I know... there's no sleeping in WDW. But it was our last day. We had done everything we had wanted to do by this point and we needed to catch up on some sleep.
When we got up around 10:30, we discussed breakfast but I was honestly still full from dinner the night before at Hoop Dee Doo. Can you believe that?!

On our way, I took more pictures...

and there were people already in the pool... oh to be here with this nice weather today instead of in Indy with 2 degree weather. SERIOUSLY!

On the way to the boat dock, we saw the geyser go off:

We got to the boat dock a little after 11, it pulled up not 5 minutes later and we made it to the park around 11:30. We decided to spend our last day in the MK.

When we walked thru the gates and had our picture taken since there weren't many people in front and we hadn't had our picture taken by the train depot yet.

I told Moose he got to pick everything we did today. He was okay with that!
First thing we did: picked up fps for Peter Pan- they were already for 3:45 that afternoon!

We then went to Pirates, which was a walk on (we got stuck again...)

Then HM which was a 40 minute wait... so what would Moose rather do?
go to Gaston's! So, we headed over there... but it was packed... so we went BACK on Under the Sea... I think this is our thousandth ride... it was only a 10 minute wait.
Which I would have been okay with, had it not been for the foreign lady with her daughter who kept cutting in front of us in the line! Moose would follow the line and I would stop for a second to take a picture or play with the crabs... and she would pull her daughter in front of us-- at one point she stepped on my foot and kept on going.
I told Moose I was about ready to grab both her and her daughter by the hair and pull them back behind us-- but instead, every chance I had, I'd jump right back in front of them. At one point I was in front of them and he was behind them. I was VERY aggravated at them.

When we got to the end of the line, Moose pulled me back with him and let them get in their shell before us. I didn't care that they went in front of us-- it was the whole fact that the woman should teach her daughter it is NOT okay to line jump... I don't care if you are from Orlando or not- that's proper etiquette- teach your child some manners!

URGH!

Anyway- after we rode Under the Sea for the millionth time... (see how it jumped from thousandth to millionth in 1 ride?!)... we went back to Gastons.. because the husband had decided he HAD to have a pork shank.
So-- we got a pork shank and a LeFou's Brew!

(I'm pretty sure I already posted that picture- but that's okay)

(Thank you dis tourist blog! Apparently we didn't take any pictures of either... how weird!)
IT WAS DELICIOUS! It was moist, sweet and flavorful. Moose picked it up and the bone came out of it! It was at least the size of a turkey leg and it was enough for us to split it and be full. I think this may be something we get from now on- gasp- INSTEAD of a turkey leg!
The LeFou's Brew was interesting. We got it in a regular plastic cup. Obviously it tasted like really cold apple juice and the foam on top was an interesting addition. I enjoyed it, but Moose not so much.

Then we decided to go to Mickey's Philharmagic with only about a 5 minute and then over to the Riverboat. We'd never been on this-- and felt bad that we didn't get to try it the other day when we tried to do everything in the MK.
Us on the boat:

View from the Riverboat:

another one:

Splash and Harper's Mill:

It was interesting-- we also some of Moose's family members on the Riverboat ride!

The mooses:

Then we went over to Rupenzel's bathroom-- both to use it and to see it.

I love the little wanted posters from the movie.

inside:
light fixture:

It was about this time that we realized it was REALLY hot out... so Moose wanted to get a drink. So, we went to Pinoccio's and each had a soda.
We got the last table there... and sat next to the cute stained glass.

Then Moose got annoyed with the children running around yelling and decided to go in search of a souvenir for his nephew. I stayed with the drinks because we weren't done with them yet.
About 15 minutes later Moose came back empty handed.
Then, we waited-- again-- but this time we waited for our Peter Pan fast passes to be use-able.
After we flew over England and Neverland, we went back to Pirates (having NOT checked the Dis App like we should have)... and found it was down.
We decided to sit in the shade across the way and wait for a few minutes. We waited about 10 minutes and it reopened.
We rode again because there was no line and then checked out the gift shop.
For his souvenir, Moose ended up getting the soundtrack to the POTC ride... I didn't even know they MADE that!

I'm going to stop here for now. Stay tuned for our amazing dinner and our sad trip home.
Thanks for reading along everyone!
See ya real soon!

I love the Rapunzel themed rest area. It's so cool and modern. Did you know that the tree stumps conceal electrical outlets? I was poking around in the rain, waiting for my DD to finish HM. That's why my hair is so curly now... Not really, but it was good to know, if my cell needed some charging. :thumbsup2

It's too bad the trip is almost over. That last day at the Magic Kingdom is the only way to do it though!

Sorry your trip is almost over. Boo!

Nothing like sleeping in on your last day just because!

Ugh to the line cutter lady. I hate that, but I ultimately just let them pass. Trying to keep up with their antics is just too annoying.

Can't wait to see where you eat for your last Disney meal!

Narrator: This was the beginning of the end for our friends-

WHAT?!?!?!? :scared:

their last day in the most magical place on Earth.

Oh.... <phew>

Wait.

That's almost as bad!!!

So, this morning we slept in... yes... I know... there's no sleeping in WDW. But it was our last day.

Good for you.
I find it tough to sleep in on vacation... so much to do! So much to see!

When we got up around 10:30,

10:30?

:faint:

I wish!

we discussed breakfast but I was honestly still full from dinner the night before at Hoop Dee Doo. Can you believe that?!

Well... if you can believe that at breakfast, I was still pretty full from the previous breakfast...

then yes.

and there were people already in the pool... oh to be here with this nice weather today instead of in Indy with 2 degree weather. SERIOUSLY!

Oh, to be in Indy with 2 degree weather instead of Winnipeg with -26 degree weather. SERIOUSLY!

:rotfl:

Doesn't it look like everyone in the pool is fascinated with a woman taking a picture of a fake rock?

We got to the boat dock a little after 11, it pulled up not 5 minutes later

I must admit, I've never seen a boat dock pull up before.
It must have been magnificient!
(Or Maleficient)

We decided to spend our last day in the MK.

Yeah... you kind of have to, don't you?

I told Moose he got to pick everything we did today. He was okay with that!

Was he now? :lmao:

First thing we did: picked up fps for Peter Pan- they were already for 3:45 that afternoon!

Oh? Is that right little miss I'm-sleeping-in-until-10:30?

Oooohhh.... I want that.

Then HM which was a 40 minute wait.

Wow. Busy day at MK!

so we went BACK on Under the Sea... I think this is our thousandth ride...

You should have received a certificate or something, don't you think?

Which I would have been okay with, had it not been for the foreign lady with her daughter who kept cutting in front of us in the line! Moose would follow the line and I would stop for a second to take a picture or play with the crabs... and she would pull her daughter in front of us--

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
She may have thought that you were going to be stopped for a while, which is why she went by.
Heck. I might've done the same thing if you took too long.
But if you were just stopping briefly for a quick snap, then, yeah... I'd wait.

at one point she stepped on my foot and kept on going.

What?!?!? Go get her Rebecca! Take no prisoners!

I told Moose I was about ready to grab both her and her daughter by the hair and pull them back behind us--

Yay!

but instead, every chance I had, I'd jump right back in front of them.

:rotfl:

At one point I was in front of them and he was behind them. I was VERY aggravated at them.

Oh?
Hadn't noticed.

When we got to the end of the line, Moose pulled me back

...kicking and screaming...

I didn't care that they went in front of us-- it was the whole fact that the woman should teach her daughter it is NOT okay to line jump... I don't care if you are from Orlando or not- that's proper etiquette- teach your child some manners!

Agreed.
I don't think you can teach your child manners if you have none yourself.

Anyway- after we rode Under the Sea for the millionth time... (see how it jumped from thousandth to millionth in 1 ride?!)...

Now you deserve a plaque.

Sounds delish!
One more item added to the Disney 'must do' list.

The LeFou's Brew was interesting. We got it in a regular plastic cup. Obviously it tasted like really cold apple juice and the foam on top was an interesting addition. I enjoyed it, but Moose not so much.

I think I'll stick to Dole whip floats.

Us on the boat:

Another cute pic of you guys.

Splash and Harper's Mill:

Have you been to Tom Sawyer Island?
I haven't.
Might never.... only due to time constraints, though.

Hey look!
Moose!

Then we went over to Rupenzel's bathroom-- both to use it and to see it.

They should start listing that thing as an attraction.

Then Moose got annoyed with the children running around yelling and decided to go in search of a souvenir for his nephew.

Children? At Disney? What the deuce?

I stayed with the drinks because we weren't done with them yet.

Doesn't that sound like a scene from a war movie?
"Somebody's got to go. Someone has to get word back to headquarters!"
"But it's certain death out there! There are snipers everywhere!!"
"I know, dammit. But it's important. The colonel has to be told!"
"Risky."
"Very."
"Okay."
....
"Right. I'll stay with the drinks and you go run the suicidal gauntlet."

.
For his souvenir, Moose ended up getting the soundtrack to the POTC ride... I didn't even know they MADE that!

Ne neither.

Stay tuned for our amazing dinner and our sad trip home.
Thanks for reading along everyone!
See ya real soon!

Thanks for the chapter, Rebecca! :goodvibes

Sorry I didn't get to update over the weekend.... I was swamped at work... with work. So I didn't get to post a new chapter. I'm thinking I may be snowed in on Wednesday, so I may get a new chapter posted then.
BTW- for those of you who care-- between today and Wednesday, SOMEONE is having a BIRTHDAY!

How dare work get in the way of important TR reporting!?!?!

Someone? Hmmmm.... It's not me, so that narrows it down a bit...

So this was my Tuesday.
Up at 5 for work... And I feel like garbage.
Yeah, I'm sick with a cold.
I have to go anyway since I have two separate dentist appointments this month that I have to use sick leave for.
Work from 6:30am - 2:30pm.
Pick up DW and go to DD's school to deal with some issues there.
Meet with Principal and Vice Principal for an hour.
Go to grocery store 'cause the cupboards are bare.
Get home and quickly make dinner as fast as possible since DD has to go to dance in about half an hour.
Clean up a bit then have a hot shower because everything aches.
Totally exhausted and so take a nap for an hour.
Get up and ready and head off to work (10:30pm - 6:30am)
Now it's Wednesday.
Get home, grab a quick bite.
Sleep .
DD is off early this semester so she comes home at 12:30, which means the dog barks which means I'm up now.

And then it hit me.

Oh, man...

I was gonna.
Honest.
But the day just got away from me and, well...

I just plain forgot.
No excuses, but there it is.

Sorry
But even though I'm a day late...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

(Belated)

SOMEONE is having a BIRTHDAY!

Being that you are expecting a little one in the near future, yes someone will be having a Birth day. When said Birth day is, we'll find out in the future.

Now you and moose already had a birthday. I take it one of you is celebrating said day and turning another year older.

Happy Belated Birthday Moose!

I better cover both bases here for just in case, since she didn't really say who the SOMEONE was.

Happy Belated Birthday Goose!

Pick up DW and go to DD's school to deal with some issues there.
Meet with Principal and Vice Principal for an hour.

Is this the older DD or the younger one? If its the younger one, I told her to do it after school, not during so she wouldn't get caught. Kids just never listen do they.

Get home and quickly make dinner as fast as possible since DD has to go to dance in about half an hour.

I know which one this is, so I'm guessing the trouble maker was the younger one.

Totally exhausted and so take a nap for an hour.
Get up and ready and head off to work (10:30pm - 6:30am)

So you got off work at 2:30pm and have to be back at 10:30pm? Man I hated those days.

Get home, grab a quick bite.

Isn't it kind of dangerous to grab a quick bite? I mean, you never know where it's going to bite you. I personally wouldn't try to grab a quick bite and just get something to eat instead.

Actually Buzz, DH’s birthday was 2 weeks and 2 days before mine… and mine was Tuesday (2/4) of this week.

So, between my birthday, the Olympics- I’M A HUGE OLYMPICS FAN- and my gazillion doctor’s appointments, I’ve been bad about updating. Please forgive me.
If you’d like to know WHY I’m such an Olympics nut, I’ll be happy to tell you my spiel—I’ve only given it about 6 times this week to various co-workers and facebook friends.
Day 6, chapter 2
So, since today was our last day in the parks, we decided to get our souvenirs on the way out. We stopped in the Emporium, we bought sweatshirts for DS our niece and nephew, DMIL and DFIL.
(Sorry no pictures, since they weren’t ours)
I got a few pins and my popcorns!!! LOVE the big bags of smaller bags of popcorn! The Cinnamon Toast popcorn is my favorite! If you’ve never had it, try it! You can ONLY get it in the Emporium, in the big bags of variety popcorns…
However- as we were leaving the Emporium and going to the exit, we were stopped and asked to take a survey…. If you remember, we were also asked to take a survey when we left EPCOT.
So… what do you do while your spouse is taking a survey? Take pictures of course!
Moose taking said survey:

Halloween décor was already up!

It was SUPER windy because a storm was blowing in and the temperature had dropped.

Then, we took the boat back to Wilderness Lodge.

And about halfway back, it started to rain. You can see the rain on the surface of the water.

The Iron Man-o-rail:

It was raining cats & dogs… guess we left the park just in time!

On the way back to the room, I asked Moose what he wanted to do for dinner. He said… I don’t know… we’re wet and nasty… I don’t really feel like going back to a park in the rain. I agreed, so I asked him if he wanted to try Artist’s Pointe since we had never been there before. He said he thought that was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary (which was technically the next day).
When we got back to the room, we had some little guests.

So, when we got back up to the room, I took our mugs down to the QS place to get refills and on the way back to the room, I walked up to the podium and asked if I could make a reservation. She said they didn’t do that- they take reservations from the phone service. But she said she’d check and see if there were any openings at that time and she’d just make a note that we’d be back at that time. I asked about 7:30 and she said that would be fine. She asked if we were celebrating anything and I told her we were celebrating our 5th anniversary and she said she would make a note of it.
We both got showers and changed and laid around the room until it was time for our reservations.
When we showed up, we were given a seat near a big window… here is the view out the window:

Never been in Artist Point? Here’s a fuzzy picture:

We were both spiffed up! Moose:

Me… ever the lady:

Our waitress brought us sour bread, butter and fennel infused oil.
As you can also see in this picture, Moose order a “Lodge Fizz” which he said was “okay”.
As appetizers, Moose ordered the mixed greens salad with house made granola- which he really liked. He said the dressing was light and great, the salad was crunchy and the granola was the best he’d ever had.

I ordered the heirloom tomato salad, which loved. If you like tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, this does not disappoint. I checked the menu and it looks like they’ve changed this plate a little. Because the menu now says blue cheese and sweet onions, which as you can see this does not have. But, the wine dressing was amazing!

For dinner, Moose ordered the center cut filet with sweet potato sticks and a dry blu cheese sprinkle. He loved the steak but doesn’t like blu cheese so he didn’t really try that.

I ordered the pan seared Salmon (which they brought out on the plank and then placed on my plate so as not to heat the rest of the food. The sweet sauce on the bottom was amazing—I’m not sure what it was, but it was delicious and paired very well with the salmon.

There was a small spring roll and greens with it… which was all chilled. And picketed cauliflower, which I wasn’t sure about... but once I tried it I was sad I didn’t have more.
For our anniversary the waitress brought us each a glass of a pinot noir which was AMAZING! It was a perfect “dessert” wine.

We were having such a wonderful time we didn’t want to go back to the room yet… so we decided to look at the dessert menu.
Moose ordered the baked Alaska (which they did not serve a flambé- and he was upset about).
I ordered the seasonal berry cobbler- which was raspberry… and homemade raspberry ice cream. Now—I’m sure if you like raspberries, this is delicious—and I thought that just the taste would be good… however I am NOT a small seed person- watermelon seeds don’t bother me… strawberry seeds don’t bother me… but raspberry seeds… OMG.. they are like torture on my teeth! So, I did not enjoy this- specifically because of the seeds. It took me forever to eat because of them.
I also ordered a dessert hot chocolate/coffee which was very good and a nice compliment to the ice cream.

As you can see, she brought it out with a candle in it- to celebrate our anniversary.

After dinner we walked down to the beach and watched the end of the water pageant. It was a nice way to end our trip. Just us… on the beach, sitting together, holding hands, watching the water pageant.

It was heaven. One of my favorite parts of the trip. Just a nice quiet moment—I didn’t have to wait in line, or walk 8 miles or pay extra for. That’s what Disney is about right? Little moments like that, that makes great Disney memories.
Thanks for reading along—I’ll have a recap and our “on the way home” chapter next weekend.
See ya real soon!

Happy belated birthdays!

Artist point is one of my favorites....your meals look great.

I want to hear your Olympics story!
