IF??:teleport:

Normally I drink say a Sprite w/Mexican food but IMO, one of the nice things about San Antonio is its the closest you can get to actual Mexican food w/o traveling to Brownsville or West Texas (I cook w/a lot of Mexican spices).

And, if my dang job will just calm down, I am trying to drop some weight so I can afford calorie wise to really enjoy the food, drink, sights and sounds of all things Texas while there.:yo-yo:

Cuz yes, be on the lookout for food porn on this TR as I am a Foodie at heart and love to try new foods and drink.;)

and

have added quite a few twists and turns to them......

even added TWO whole new vacation destinations -
CLUE#1 who have ever heard of having to spray the inside of an airplane down with an insecticide BEFORE one boards the plane?? Yup, Aug 1st on - this is what is now in effect when you travel overseas........:scratchin

ANYWHO -
Stay tuned a I get a feeling I will be returning very shortly to pick back up where we have last left off on this adventure...... including my weight loss, etc -

I'm always here when you post....

Will wait around to read more when you start up again

Spraying the plane down before you board will have me guessing where your destination will be

Some advice from a Native Texan:

1. Skip the Hard Rock. There are so many great restaurants in SA so why go there?

2. Joe T Garcias is fun but they only take cash and the line to get in is always insanely long. If you want some back up suggestions in case it takes too long to get in let me know.

3. If you wish to save a little money pick up some pastries for breakfast the next day at Mi Tierras. They're known for their Mexican pastries.

4. Make some time if you can to visit Austin. If you need some suggestions for what to do there let me know.

5. The traffic between Austin and Dallas can be really bad. Check Waze or Google Maps before you leave.

6. Why go to Grapevine Mills? Its just a generic mall with a lousy aquarium. If you're killing time in Grapevine spend your time in downtown Grapevine instead. There are so many better things to do in DFW. I can give you lots of suggestions.

7. Twice a day they have a demonstration cattle drive through the Stockyards. They list the times on the Stockyards website. Try to time your visit so you don't miss it.

I just had to do a "say what?" when I was told that. Oh well, a wee bit of a bug spray smell wont bother me - just will drown out the other smells from the 9-12 hour flight.:crazy2:

P.S.S. Doncha luv the assorted music ya can listen 2 while readin' this trip report? I listen to it to and from work every day n my car to keep me in a San Antonio mood.:)

"SOMETIME YOU HAVE TO DIG A LITTLE DEEPER"

Ok, so a few weeks back, Jennifer (MEI TRAVEL) & I were working getting everything all
together for one really fun and downright enticing adventure into the Paris France side of life.......with it starting with me literally stepping off the plane, getting checked into the Hotel (around 8am) and then I would be headin off to my first tour of the place.

THEN disaster struck -:faint:
Yes, it was pretty intense for about three-four days with her and I emailng each other with ideas, etc but hey, this is the way I travel.....per se, I take a MEH idea and turn it into one incredible adventure and .....well.....if ya can't stand the heat from me, then get outta da kitchem ya know?:scratchin

And thus for whatever reason, She grew distant for about a week.:teleport:

I respected her wishes (She said she "was working on my vacation") for about 5 day, then on the 6th day, I sent her an email reminding her to let me know when she would be charging my credit card.

NO REPLY -

I sent her another email about 2 days later on same subject.
THEN I found out the itinerary for France (see below trip report) WAS ONLY A QUOTE.
Yes, there are a few more issues at hand here but I will only list a few as I was really thunderstruck by her "leading from behind" mentality and felt that a complaint letter was in store here since -

WOW - I am here to play and she does this -:crazy2:
So, I fire off a complaint letter to "Guest Services" at MEI TRavel (AKA "Mouse fan Travel") and there I found out the hard way that her Supervisor basically for all intensive purposes BACKED HER.

And in the process, we both literally said to each other, "Your'e Fired":crazy2:

RRRRRRR!!!!popcorn::

THINK!!!!!!:scratchin SO I put on my Pooh Hat.........
(Yes, MEI Travel is a Fantastic Travel company to go thru for Domestic travel but my first experience with them for International Travel was anything less than Stellar IMHO)

......and from the ashes of this disaster
came quite a fantabolous solution(s)!popcorn::

Ya know what they say "When Life Gives Ya Lemons.....":artist:

So, the first thing that came to my mind was beignets -
And I whipped up some along with some Rita's and chilled out in the backyard while watching Ladybug play.....

Then it hit me!

I want a color of blue for a Honda Civic with a silver colored bow wrapped around it......BUT WHEN??? Paris is now OUT!!

(Or is it?):rolleyes1

So, I got my Pooh thinkin' done with a came to a realization that a trek into the Great Wolf Lodge (Grapevine Texas) isn't all that bad after this adventure n2 the San Antonio area -

1) have a balcony view
2) Spa retreat while there.
3) Wine tastings at "Grpavine Wine Tours.com"
4) Water Park is included w/my stay.
5) Snack shop is on site.
6) in room service as well.
7) DON'T HAVE TO PAY A 'TRAVEL SUPPLIMENT"
8) will do some shopping there as well.
9) Will take the train to the Stockyards.
10) "Rangers" basball game?

Will be there May 5th for 3 nights and on May 8th, my new car will in my driveway with a bow on it (PICS FROM THIS 'STAY-CATION" WILL BE POSTED AS A WAY TO KICK OFF MY TRIP REPORT FOR DECEMBER '17 FOR...........):yo-yo:

And yes, I may extend my stay there another night........:rolleyes1
(this has been booked on my own and not thru a Vendor or toured company)

Now, I know ya are know doubt asking where are you going Dec '17??????
Well.........

I looked down at my beignets and well -
there I found the answer:popcorn::

Yes........Both the New Orleans and Paris France trips have been booked through a company called "Collette Vacations.com as I have plussed them with various add ons from Viator.com as well as Spa retreats, etc.:goodvibes
(look up "Spotlight on Paris France" and "Spotlight on New Orleans" and you will see some of what I am up to via Collette.com

SO, we have -

Dec '16 = 'San Antonio, Texas' via Collete Vacations.com
May '17 = Grapevine, Texas and 'New Car'
Dec '17 'New Orleans, La.' via Collette Vacations.com

(Trip Reprts WILL be getting up and started I promise)

and........
wait for it..........

WAIT FOR IT...........

Yes, very proud to say, Paris France is 'still there" but slated for
APRIL '18. I wished I could have seen the Beaches of Normandy but I really really really want DISneyland Paris on my post day so Paris will be 6 days as the same for New Orleans.:)

EX: www.GoCollette.com

And with that, that kinda gives ya an idea about what I have been up to recently -
(Aug 1st on, they will be spraying the insides of planes down b4 boarding.....my best educated guess is for Zika)

Q: OK SO WHAT ABOUT MY WEIGHT????:duck:

Have been very sidelined at work with craziness but glad to say that it has cleared so I can now do the same with this pesky topic.

Ladybug is also included on this so be on the lookout for weekly blogs from now on as we both chime in on our weight loss.

Cuz ya know them food down n San Antonio is "Fat free"....:rotfl:

**WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES**party:

**WOWZERS!!** I can really feel a difference in my weight - in just 3 days.:dancer:
(watching what I am eating and doing lots of Core workouts)

Feels nice to be able to FINALLY overcome some rather unnecessary stress that has been plaguing me for these past 10 months. Can't go a whole lot into details but sufices to say, YES......be on the lookout for BOTH Ladybug
& I to continue to get untracked on being a healthier us.

.....and YES, I PROMISE to begin to FINALLY post my weight loss starting 1 week from today.

ANYWHO -

Got a week bit goings on in about 3 more weeks in regards to this San Antonio adventure and it begins with a tune up of sorts - beginning with me checking out

1)The 6th Floor Museum (dwntwn Dallas)
2) Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Ft Worth)
<to see how money is printed>:)

3) Russel Stover Chocolate Factory (Terrel, Tx)
(hey, I need some road munchies when I head out 2 Ft Worth ya know):rolleyes1

4) Joe T Garcias Restaurant (Ft Worth)
(never been - looking forward to it)

and thinking seriously about chilling out for a bit at Dave n Busters Restaurant/game area as well.

BUT............:crazy2:
During all this,
Ladybug has an appointment with her "OBGYN" (cough cough.........to get her 'yearly".......ok.....okookokokok......to get her vacination shots, etc):rotfl:
We have strange names......we never call her Vet, "Vet" , etc.....Beagles.....gotaa love em!!::yes::

SHe HATES getting her shots so I have decided to 'bribe her' with a massage, bath, mani-pedi and 20 Milkbone treats when done. SO far, my bribe is working....

And with that, until next week's 'weight in' -popcorn::

OK.....SO HERE IS WHAT THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS IS UP TO.....
14034786_1350893701606455_300061770519567579_n.jpg

(check out the 'proposed' changes....esp the entrance -

see below
13996226_1352690048093487_1756726106832001460_o.jpg

Picture is from "The Alamo Project" via Facebook.

They go on to say, "This is how we envision the 'front' of the Alamo will appear after the transformation-- and what the original Main Gate entrance into the compound most likely looked like until the city of San Antonio tore it down in 1871. The structure stands about 15.5' tall. Currently, the archeologists have been digging right through the middle of the gateway. We'd like them to move just a little to the left here to confirm this structure. It's there waiting for them. "(model and image by Mike Harris).

ANYWHO -
SO the gist goes that the City of San antonio is ticked off that the average Visitor to the Alamo is spending "all of 8 minutes" on average visiting the Alamo -:rolleyes1

....and they are out to change this with "Re-imagining" :earboy2:
the Alamo area ; as you can see by the first picture I have posted. Changes looks like they will be a doing over the next 5 to 7 years so yup, be on the lookout for San Antonio to give Brackettville, Texas a run for their money (Brackettville, Tx is where is 1960's set of the Disney movie, "The Alamo" is located at).:goodvibes

Yes, I have often thought of taking a vacation out to Bracketville and visit a B&B at the same time......just that's quite a LLOONNGGG drive :moped:

if ya know what I mean....:headache:

But -
in other news --:yay:

I am making slow but steady progress in that pesky topic of weight loss for both Ladybug & I as we have 1) stopped the weight gain and am very proud to say that I have lost 3 lbs so far and Ladybugpaw:

has dropped .05 of a pound!!party:

Just wish like "H" that plain m&m's would be "fat-free" but oh well......

Pssttt!!!! I took an "M&M PERSONALITY QUIZ" and scored out as "Red"...........:rotfl2:
and with that, looks like we are about 668 more hours away from breaking out the suitcase and beginning to slowly clean it out from the last adventure and begin to put a few things in it.:teleport:
