O.K. you vets. We are going on the Magic in October, we are a couple with two boys 6 and 9, an 84 yo G'ma, an Aunt and a 21 yo cousin. When we check in we want all the extra options. A couple Palo ressies, the mud bath, a couple days of rainforest spas, a couple hair appointments for the formal nights, tea at Palo, character tea for the kids... So tell us, is each day of Palo a separate line? Must we send someone to the cabin to get our restaurant assignments so we know when not to miss "the real dining" for each? Are we going to need a couple people there to stand in separate lines? Can we then proceed to the spa lines? Or.... We do have family radios. Do they work well across the decks?

What about the "lines" for the 60 day in advance shore excursion bookings. Is this a Cindy's breakfast kind of thing? Or can we easily call WHERE? 60 days in advance and get assorted excursions. I figure most of us will go the shore on our own, but what could G'ma do? Which are the least strenuous?

TIA
Carla

Hi Carla! I'll try and help with a few of these.

First of all, check your Personal Navigator (they will give you one at check-in) for the times that all the appointments are being made. They CAN change from time to time, so any advice you get now may need to be revised if the times change.

Palo reservations are done all at Palo. You will have your restaurant rotation printed on your Key to the World card (in a code) so you can tell which restaurant rotation you have.

A = Animator's Palate
P = Parrot Cay
L = Lumiere's

You will drop off a form that you fill out at Palo to request your dinner reservation. For brunch and high tea, there are separate tables you go to for that. It does not take long at all, especially if you get there early. You will only be able to make ONE dinner, one brunch and one high tea reservation initially. You can waitlist for additional reservations after the first day.

You can split up and have another adult make the spa reservations. Plan on being there 10-15 minutes before they start taking reservations, and if you know what you want to book proceed directly to the booking lines and skip the spa tour once they open the doors.

The two-way radios work fine on the ships.

Some shore excursions do sell out but it's not something that you have to call 60 days in advance for...nothing sells out that quickly. Once you've made your final payment you'll get information about booking. You call the DCL Special Services Desk at 877-566-0968 to book.

Enjoy! :)

If we want to split the group, two people one night at Palo, two people another night, and also want brunch and high tea, do we need four adults to stand in four separate lines? If we book for Palo what is the best night to double dip, i.e. see the rotation restaurant, then miss which show, or go for the repeat restaurant? How great are the things that go on fro the semi- and formal nights in the restaurants, are they definite not-to-be-missed? Seems three of the nights will always be the most wanted for Palo, the non-rotation nights, but, but, but... What would be the best restaurant or show to miss?

Carla
