Welcome to the DVC-Forums DVC-Trivia contest.

Notice: The Trivia Contest has ended. All entries were due by Midnight, 4/30/06. We'll be doing the final grading and will announce the winners soon. We'll also be posting all the answers in the next day or so, so be sure to check back to see how you did.

To see the Winners and all the answers, go to This Thread

It's fun and games time here on the DVC-boards, and everyone* is welcome to play. How well do you think you know DVC? Show your stuff, impress your friends, win a prize!

The PRIZES:

1st Place: $40 Disney Dollars :cool1: Yes, that's real spendable Disney cash. How cool is that?

2nd Place: $25 Disney Dollars  Nothing wrong with being second banana!

3rd Place: $10 Disney Dollars :thumbsup2 OK, so we don't have a big budget. But it's all for the fun of it, isn't it?

4th-10th places: Honorable Mention. So you didn't win the big bucks. :confused3 But you still get your username up on the big leader board, our version of the Millionaire Play-It top 10 board, but even better: You're a DVC-trivia expert, top ten out of 100,000 members (assuming all 100,000 members enter). Impress your friends, maybe even earn a 'special tag' from the DISboards own TF!

The Rules:

1. *Everyone can play (except the DVC-board moderators). You do not need to own DVC in order to play. However, anyone associated with the DISboards as part of administration, agent, or moderator of any kind, may play, but is not eligible to win any of the cash prizes.

2. The contest runs through the end of April, 2006. Any entry received after midnight on April 30th, 2006 will not be counted.

3. Judging will be by the DVC-board moderators. Their decision is final. In case of a tie, the earliest entry wins.

4. All entries become the property of the DISboards.

5. Winners will be notified by e-mail and will need to furnish their name and mailing address to receive the Disney Dollars. Any information furnished by a prize claimant will not be shared with anyone else and will be treated in accordance with the DISboards privacy statement policy.

6. By entering the contest, you agree that if you finish as one of the top 10 entrants, your Username may be used in an announcement post on the DVC-Mousecellaneous board to congratulate the winners.

DIRECTIONS:

Use a regular e-mail stating your DISboard Username, and with a list of numbers 1 to 100, with your answer(s) for each question following the question number. E-Mail to: DVC@wdwinfo.com

Receipt of all e-mails will be acknowledged. If you do not get a receipt, it means we did not get your entry.

You may enter multiple times, so if you do some more research and want to change some of your answers, you may submit another entry. Remember, winners will be decided by the highest score, then date and time received. So if you submit a follow-up entry and receive a higher score on it, keep in mind that it becomes your best entry and the date/time assigned will be the one for the follow up entry, not the original entry. NOTE: We do ask that if you are submitting a follow-up entry to a previous entry, please indicate this at the top of your entry form. It will also help us greatly if you list which questions you have changed, so the judges will only need to look at those questions instead of grading your entire form again. Thanks.

HINTS/Additional Information

All questions are worth 1-point each. A perfect score would be 100 (Yeah, like that's gonna happen..... :rotfl2: )

Some questions have more than one answer. To receive credit for the question, you must get all answers correct when more than one answer is required.

Warning: Some of them are trick questions. Read carefully.

Guessing is allowed. Heck, if it's a True/False question, you've got a 40% chance of getting it right, 40% chance of getting it wrong, and a 20% chance you answered the wrong question. (All according to Murphy's Law, section IV, sub-paragraph 6)

Some of the questions are going to be really tough.

Do not post any answers anywhere within the DVC-forums. Anyone posting answers will have their threads deleted and will not be eligible to win any of the huge cash prizes.

Good Luck, but most of all....HAVE FUN !

100- And finally, the last question. The one you've been waiting for. It can really be an easy one if you just think about it.
What is the name of the very first DIS DVC Board moderator ?

After grading all of the entries so far, Deb & Bill have taken a commanding (but not insurmountable) lead in the contest. Congrats!

Keep those entries coming! :cool1:

(only 28 more days to enter) :smooth:

4/07/2006, EDITED by Caskbill:
Deb & Bill had the distinction of having the very first entry. Congratulations.
But we're not going to tell if they're still in the lead any more.... pirate:
So as Doc said, keep those entries coming..... :surfweb:

Doc, How long after we send the email do we receive an acknowledgement from you? Thanks!

Acknowledgements usually go out within 24 hours. If you haven't heard back within about 3 days, then a follow-up message might be appropriate.

When can we expect to see the quiz answers?

Edit: Sorry, I didn't read the top of the page until now.

...where are the results posted? I assume the results mean who won, not the answers....

Eagerly awaiting.... :teeth:

PK poses a great question? Maybe the results are hidden on the board somewhere, like a word search. Maybe it's the final part of the quiz! LOL :sail:

Could there have been so many high scores that a tiebreaker was impossible??? Find the results and you win?!? Hmmmmmmmmm.......the heck with housework, I think I know what I'm doing when the kids get on the bus!!!!

LOL! Maybe this is the DVC contest version of the Da Vinci Code... The contest was very neat and has ended, but alas,... it holds even more mystery! Coming soon to theaters near you!

They accounted for "tiebreakers"... I believe Caskbill state it would be graded for highest points, and then by the date/time it was submitted. So, first one to get the highest scores win. :thumbsup2

Anxiously awaiting to see if I broke the top 100! :cool1:

Hello fellow Virginian!
Yes, what exactly is causing the delay in posting the results?

Yes it's strange. Any other question that is asked gets answered in 5.3 seconds. :lmao: But the mods are silent on this topic.

We're a little slow due to a number of reasons.

1. we're lazy ..... :teeth:
2. Some of the answers have been revised as to what is acceptable.
3. We're regrading the entries to adjust for the changes.
4. The results are pretty close, so we want to be absolutely sure when we declare the 'winners', that all entries were scored consistently.

Besides, we're having fun making you all wait....., consider it our version of a DVC waitlist... pirate:

Ahh the true comes out! They like to see us squirm! :lmao:

Oh, just the answers are posted, I wanted to see who won!

CONGRATS PKLEIN09!!!!!

WOW! :cheer2: That' s pretty :cool1: cool! :cheer2:

:listen: Will you be giving a victory speech! Seriously, congratulations! ::yes::

I would give a speech elijahpep, but I'm speechless (which, if you ask my husband, is pretty darned near impossible!). I saw your post and then I went looking for the list of winners. I went nuts looking everywhere for about 5 minutes and then I remembered about the tag fairy. I screamed when I saw my tag (one, I won the contest and two, I have a tag...thank you TF)...and amazingly didn't wake my 4 kids! WOW is all I can say. I noticed your tag, Vascubaguy's tag, JamesD's tag, and Govac24's tag ....congratulations for your honorable mentions! party:

Again, many thanks to all those who created the contest! My husband and I had a blast!

--Michelle

Okay, I give up! Where is the list of winners? I know my seven year old pirate: can operate a computer MUCH better than I :badpc: A little help here! Thanks ::MinnieMo

I couldn't find the list either. This morning the tags were different, and this was our only clue.

Congratulations all of you! Whoo hoo! :Pinkbounc Now I'd like to know what your scores were! Impressive, I'm sure!
