I am going with four grandkids sometime around the middle of August. I haven't made ressies yet as we haven't firmed up the date. I haven't been in the summer in years.

Heading down from August 19-23, staying at DI&S.

Not sure about ADRs yet but maybe Carthay for dinner? Might look at trying the BBQ since we have never done it.

We did F! Dessert in March and it was okay but probably not doing it again this time. We might do WoC since we skipped it but no firm plans yet.

This was a bit of an unplanned trip, we went last September and then again this March but both DH and DS got sick during our March trip that I talked DH into us going back in August before our APs expire! Because DS was sick on our last day, we missed the AP preview of BTMRR which meant that we missed riding it for 3 trips in a row.

It seems really ridiculous, we were there for a week in March, we are heading to Ontario to visit family for 2 weeks in July and then just 4 weeks after we get back, we are jumping on another plane for DL.

Oh yay! Thank you, wakica, for taking this on!

It's already up there, but we are going to be there the 12th-16th. "We" are me, my DH, DD4 turning 5 on our trip, and DD2.

I haven't decided which parks on which days yet, but we are big hoppers, so mostly, I decide where we start. We are doing a pool/beach day on Friday the 15th (still deciding what beach- suggestions welcome!).

Saturday the 16th is my daughter's 5th birthday! We spent her first birthday at DLR, so this is really sentimental for me to be there again for this second big milestone birthday- she starts kindergarten two weeks after we return home. I need an emoticon for mixed emotions for that one....

Anyway, for that Saturday, I am booking the Discover the Magic Tour, which starts at 10am in DLR. I'm really excited for that- it looks like a lot of fun and will be a great surprise for both girls! We don't do many counter service meals at the park because it's usually too much to try manage with young kids, but I want to do a nice restaurant for DD on this day. I haven't decided between lunch or dinner, but I am thinking Carthay Circle.

I'm so looking forward to reading about everyone's plans!

OK so I have taken the initiative to start up this thread. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know I've never started a thread like this before but will try my best to keep things updated.

So I guess the gentle nudge worked. Thanks for starting the August thread! I'm already on the calendar (24-29) and will be staying at the DLH. We will also be staying there in a few days (April 5-11). So if anyone wants specific info on the parks or DLH, just ask. I will try to pay attention to this thread while there.

First time at GCH but have stayed at DLH several times. Also first time for mid-August and a little concerned about being there at that time as we usually go later. No ADs yet and will be at both parks. "We" are me, DH, DD 14 and DD 10.

According to another thread, Matterhorn refurb has been pushed out to 8/25-11/13. This could change but thought I would mention in case this is a must-do ride for anyone planning on late August.

Hello! We are coming to DLR August 19th and staying until the 26th at Paradise Pier. My oldest son (17) will be playing football in Anaheim with his team so we decided to tag along on the trip. We have stayed at DLH and GCH before so thought we would try Paradise Pier this time and save a bit of cash.

We are going to make ADR's for Surf's Up and Big Thunder BBQ (which we never miss!). We are a family with four boys so the all you can eat BBQ is their favorite meal.

We will most likely park hop the 19th, 20th, 21st, football on the 22nd, Universal on the 23rd, then hopping again on the 24th and 25th. The 26th we are off to Vegas for 3 days before heading home.

August cannot come soon enough for me! We usually go to Disney every year but last year we went on a road trip and did the Disney Alaskan cruise (which was amazing) instead. So this year DL in August and WDW in October! Next year another cruise so probably no park visits, but maybe a stop at DL Paris if I am extra lucky!

We've been to DL plenty of times but never in August. Any thoughts on the weather?

We also did a DCL cruise last year instead of DL. And we just booked Alaska for June 20015. So excited!

Surprises are SO much fun! We surprised DS last September but waking him up at 4:00am and asking him "if you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you want to go?" He was so not awake that it took him until we got to the airport to really believe that we were going back to Disneyland!

We surprised our DDs with a trip in April 2013, and we had the flight attendant deliver a special letter from Mickey to my girls (they were 1 and 3 at the time) telling them were were going to DLR. It was so much fun! She even announced it over the intercom, and everyone clapped. I loved the surprised look of disbelief on DD4's (3 at the time) face.

As for beaches we are going to go to Huntington Beach. Well, it's not set in stone yet but I've heard it's a really great beach so that's the plan as of right now.

You know, I did see that when I was looking at a site and thought since another site didn't have it that maybe it was an error. Awe, I'm sad it is true. darn - I've never ridden Matterhorn! I will try my best to make my plans so that I can get there on our first day. Don't want to miss out on it!!

YAY I will add your info in by this evening! How do you like surf's up? My dd16 is in love with surfing so and she rarely gets to surf (She will on this trip and did at Typhoon Lagoon in WDW a few years ago as well) but maybe she would get a kick out of that restaraunt!

i think the weather is usually pretty good in Cali. I've heard to not expect any rain. LOL Definitely a lot different than Florida! haha As for the rest of the weather, I hope someone more familiar with it will chime in.
