That’s ridiculous. Hope you yelled at him!
So we were on the East side of Main Street just in front of the Partners statue, which, btw, is a decent parade location since you catch the floats coming around the circle. You get a head-on view and also broadside. We had been there maybe 30-45 minutes, long enough to visit with an older couple next to us.

I was perched on the fence rail and Mrs. wabbott had eased over to the curb to get a better view of the Sanderson Sisters show. We had two bags almost level full of swag - we had made a real good haul once we learned all the 'treats' locations.

About 10 feet down on my left, this shaggy looking older guy - beard, long grey hair - who had been there ever since we arrived, slowly reached over almost under my feet and slid the two bags over by his backpack. Then he moved his backpack to hide the two bags.

I said to myself under my breath, "Look at this s####!!" I guess he didn't see me, since I was sitting up on the fence rail, and he'd been sitting down with his back to the fence the whole time.

Once I recovered my wits, I said in my best North Louisiana Redneck accent, "Hey!!! That ain't you're stuff!" Not a shout, but loud enough for him to hear me. He says, "Oh, I thought those were my son-in-laws' bags." I said, "No they ain't."

I motioned for my wife to come back over closer, and she put one of the bags in her backpack and held on to the other one for the rest of the night. It's kinda brassy to try and steal candy right on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. It tarnishes the aura, I think.

But now anyway we'll have a WDW story to tell all the family when we get back home. And two bags full of candy, too!

It's shocking and it sucks that it happened at our happy place, but I love how you weaponized your accent! :rotfl2:

I apologize in advance! I did a search but still struggled to find this info even though I know it’s somewhere in this thread!!

My main goal at the party tomorrow night is to meet Pooh and the gang. What time do they start meeting and what time does the line start forming?

Thanks!

I've heard reports of 630 meeting starts but they didn't start till 7 when I went last month. I got in like around 615 and it was really long already. I finished around 815.

We saw people in line when we walked by around 5:30 pm. It didn’t look very long at that point, but we didn’t stop to evaluate it.

Has anyone been successful in getting a ticket the day of? I am looking for one ticket for the 23rd, hoping I can show up to MK early that morning and scoring one.
Hoping the same but for the 25th, except cant get to gate til 1pm.....Looking for a miracle:worship:

Late in the season Party Report! 10-20-22. I was with my 6 year old so we didn’t do any big rides or long character lines. Our plan from 4-7 was to arrive, get some food, and ride some rides before the party started.

We arrived around 4:30 and lines to scan in and get wristbands moved quickly. We went straight to fantasy land to ride Dumbo and my son wanted to play in the wait area playground. The attendants let us in, but blocked off the entrances with trash cans a few minutes later getting ready for the party I think. We then leisurely ate a turkey leg and popcorn and rode Little Mermaid, Small World, and the carousel with minimum waits.

There was a photo pass spot behind the carousel facing the castle, and we got some cute shots while it was still light and with hardly any people in the background.

It was finally 7 and time to trick or treat! We hit the fantasy land treat spots and they were passing out handfuls from the beginning. We continued the treat trails through Liberty Square. We did the magic shots with the headless horsemen and hitchhiking ghosts with no wait. Then it was time for a break. We headed to sleepy hollow and ordered the corn dog and doom berry drink. The cast member at the register said that was his favorite combo, salty and sweet. Neither are party specific, but they were tasty! We sat at a table right off the path to fantasy land. There was an extremely distant side view of the hocus pocus show and I could hear the music! While I was eating the Peter Pan ride showed a 20 minute wait on the app, so it was back to fantasy! By the time we got there it was showing 50 minutes again though, so we ditched that plan and rode Mad Tea Party. I loved the music! Our spin was to the Crocodile song from Peter Pan.

Then since I had a boy in a Buzz Lightyear costume with me, we headed to Tomorrowland. The cast members there fawned over him and gave him tons of candy! It was a great atmosphere with the dance party going on. We rode Buzz with a posted 10 minute wait, it was probably less.

Then it was time to start thinking about a spot for the 9:15 parade. We decided Town Square to be close to the exit. Little one’s normal bedtime is 8:30 so we were on borrowed time! We met Mickey in his costume with 0 wait and one other family with us. Mickey was giving it his all, playing hide and seek with the kids, it was so fun and different from how rushed it usually feels at that location.

We then settled on the curb outside the theater to wait for the parade. The cast members there were fantastic at crowd control, and kept it feeling orderly. It is a long time before the parade gets there, and if you showed up 9:30 or later it seemed you could still get a good spot, just maybe not a seated one. The parade was amazing, but after that we were done (along with plenty of others leaving). My Buzz was falling asleep on his feet, I thought we could skip the stroller this trip, but there have been a couple of times we have wished for it.

We had so much fun and the party seemed less crowded than Christmas 2019 (the last time we did one). I did miss getting to look at the party merch, but overall I’m happy with what we got to experience especially with not staying the whole time.

Here is my recap of last night's party, 10/20.

This is my second party of the season (a first for me, doing two parties) as well as my very first party solo. The other party I attended was in August, but since I was with my family, we focused more on trick-or-treating, ride overlays, parade, stage show and fireworks. This time, I was determined to get some character and Magic Shot photos, since nobody is ever willing to wait in line for these with me.

I was already in the park at 4, so I was told to stand in line for a wristband at the Chamber of Commerce. For anyone wanting to meet Jack and Sally, this is probably the worst possible way to do it. The massive waves of people had already been processed through the main entrance by the time they even opened the door to CoC (I walked from Bay Lake Tower and the line for entry at 3:40pm went to about halfway to the security tent along that path, so it was pretty long). This meant that when I poked my head into Town Hall at 4:05, the CM quoted me a three hour wait for J&S already. Seeing as I have met them a few times already at different venues, it was disappointing, but not earth-shattering, as my main goals were Elvis Stitch, Pooh and the Gang, and Ariel and Eric (I was dressed as Ursula, so it was non-negotiable). I had a few Genie+ bookings lined up, so from 4-5:30 I did Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder, Buzz and just sort of wandered around.

A 5:40, I stood tentatively in line for Pooh debating whether to start with them or Stitch. A CM was checking bands and making sure that everyone in line was there specifically for the Halloween meet. I decided to prioritize Stitch but would have been about seventh in line at 5:40 for Pooh if I had stayed (they come out at 6:30).

At 5:45 exactly I headed to stand in the Elvis Stitch line and was fifth from the front. He came out at 6:35 and was an amazing interaction- one of the best I've ever had, and I'm really not a huge character person now that my son is older. I recommend this one to anyone looking for a fun meet. When he came out, the line was wrapped around to the wall where Buzz standby goes- probably about 30-40 people. We had all heard that he takes a lot of breaks, so it is best to get there early.

Next stop was Space Mountain with the overlay. We did this in August and really enjoyed it. The posted time was 20 minutes, and it was almost exactly that.

The next stop was checking on the HM line- 45 minutes, so I bailed. I went for the double Magic Shot in Liberty Square and had about two groups ahead of me.

Pecos Bills at 7:15 was not as crazy as expected, so that was nice. I easily found a seat.

After dinner, I headed back to look for the Facilier Magic Shot and was third in line, so that went quickly as well.

Following that, I went to stand in line for Ariel and Eric. They were on break, so even though I was about tenth in line, the total wait was over a half hour.

By this time, the parade was due to start, but I was targeting the later one, so I got in line for Pooh at 9:22 with about 20 people in front of me (total, not groups). They went on break at 9:25, and then I was the last person to meet them at 9:55 before another break.

I also skipped the fireworks as we had seen them in August, along with the stage show. Instead, I headed to Pirates. The live actors were a fun addition, and it was so much a walk-on with empty boats that the two live actors on the bridge were telling each other knowingly that mine was a "chartered vessel". I passed Jack Sparrow's meet with a line of about 15 people on the way out.

I also noted and appreciated that the Tiki Room was blasting "Welcome to the Jungle" at top volume as I passed it.

It somehow became 11pm and I settled into a great spot in Liberty Square for the fireworks. This was thwarted as a behemoth of a man walked directly in front of me (in between the tape lines, which is why I had thought I would be safe) and called his entire eight-member family to stand and fill up the pathway. I had a feeling that the CMs weren't going to clear them (they didn't) so after the Headless Horseman (of which I saw a hint of his collar, I think, between the human pillars in front of me) I ran across and was kindly allowed to share a lovely couple's prime spot.

After the parade, I ran to Haunted Mansion. Unfortunately, at 11:41, the live ghosts were gone, but it was still a fun ride.

Heading out, I collected my allergy treats from Liberty Square, and did the cauldron/ flaming pumpkin/ Oogie-Boogie Moon magic shots with the midnight Hocus Pocus show as the backdrop and soundtrack.

They have very, very obviously pulled way back on the number of tickets sold. I was extremely vocal in my complaints in 2019 about the crowding, and this was so much better and more manageable. I hope that they keep this cap for future years and events.

This was supposed to be a quick recap- I don't know what happened! I am happy to answer any questions about timing.

I have a dinner reservation (6:50pm) at Crystal Palace during the Halloween Party but I do not have tickets to the Halloween party. Will I be able to enter the park for this reservation? Or not allowed since technically the park closes at 6pm?

Thanks for any help here.

You will not be allowed to enter the park for this reservation after 6:00. If you’re already in the park you will probably be able to stay in the park to go to your dining reservation but you may need to stay at CP from 6:00 onwards as technically by then the park is closed to day guests so you will not be able to walk around the park or go on any attractions.

Just sharing a very magical update! We had tickets to the September 29th party which was cancelled due to the hurricane. After (a lot) of persistence, Disney offered us the chance to attend another Halloween party. It was magical! From the cast member who offered us some anytime LLs for the pre-party time frame to the cast member who spontaneously escorted our family to the reserved bench seating at the starting point of the Boo to You parade, we enjoyed every moment.

The party itself is cute. We took tips from all of you and did rides from 4-6, grabbed a quick dinner, and then focused on trick or treating, character meets, the early show and the parade. Caught the fireworks on the ferry to the parking lot (couldn’t reschedule our hotel, but we are localish so it worked out to drive home). Will attend next year!

We were there last night and honestly thought it was just as crowded as past parties.

Thank you! Enjoy your trip and expect a nudge on 10/24 :p
I had no issues. I checked in as soon as I got the notification that it was time. I was seated shortly after 6. When I was leaving there was someone at the door asking if I was staying for the party. She gave me a bright yellow wrist band and escorted me to the bridge by Crystal Palace.

At the party now. All of the managers just watched and did absolutely nothing when Ms Karen and her family went under the ropes where you’re held under the train station but apparently rules don’t apply to her or her family and she just had to get that photo op on Main Street before everyone else.

Which carts are the Zero popcorn buckets being sold on btw?
