Yup! My TA books for me on platinum day, then calls the next day and books for my daughter because she’s gold. Once they get an agent, they take care of all their clients on one call! Since this is a free service for the clients, I can’t believe more don’t do it this way!

The only reason I don't have a TA, is because I am the planner in the family and I enjoy it so much. I prefer to know all my options and make the choice (read: control) LOL. For example, if my TA gets through to DCL and there are only certain rooms or room types available that weren't in my original request to the TA, then what? They pick for me? I like to do the research, read stateroom reports, etc. and ensure I am getting the best options for me. I know there are plenty of benefits though to have a TA, like certain perks, discounts and most recently the 2-hour hold time on opening day! :rotfl:

After an hour and 8 minutes on hold I booked my cruise!!

Gold Magic 8/25 Norwegian Fjords 9B for 2A (although he is age 15) $4727.34 total [2240,2240] fees $220 and tax 123.67. No ins/trans/air/OBB.

I had a placeholder but it had to be used by July 8,2018 so missed out on the discount.

Another possibility is that some platinum cruisers have older kids. We are still gold (3 more for platinum). We started cruising DCL when mine were 8 and 4, but now they are 23 and 19 so often can't accompany us due to school/work schedules. When they do, they are booked into their own cabin, so still pricing for 2 adults.

That's my point. In general, families with younger kids probably aren't (repeat) cruising with DCL with the same frequency that they did, say 10+ years ago.

The Fantasy seems to have the fewest bookings reported so far. Are the Caribbean itineraries not as sought after?

Well, it's generally the "same old, same old". Clearly, the one Fantasy sailing that deviates from the typical routine (the 11-night southern) has generated the most interest.

Once silver and regular bookings open up the fantasy and dream will be getting filled up. Platinum and gold lots of people look for different cruises than the same old same old cruise that they been on.
Plus people are probably trying to go to Alaska and Europe before the new ships come.

Most new cruisers tend to book on board for the same itinerary for the following year.

As someone else stated, they are the same old itineraries. That being said, considering I booked one of the same old itineraries, it's going to Tortola which my DH and I loved last summer and St. Thomas, which he's never been to, and obviously Castaway Cay, which we always love to go to plus three sea days. We had originally planned on the 9 night Alaska cruise, but then we decided to redo the kitchen so that knocked Alaska right out, and what with the price, it was teetering as it was. Looked into Alaska cruises on NCL and was pleased that prices are basically half for, in my opinion, a better itinerary and staying in suite. Something to consider for the future. We really love cruising DCL and want to be able to book a placeholder when we go on the Fantasy in hopes that we'll be able to use it on the new ship in 2021.

This works out better for me. I will be calling in the morning and the lack of bookings thusfar will keep my prices down. It would have been nice to see some quotes for both the itineraries and room types that I was interested in. The anticipation is making the day go sooooooooooooo slow! :snail:

Finally made it through! My first call dropped after an hour and a half on hold- thought I would just cry! Tried again at 9:30CT on hold for an hour but finally booked!

G Magic 7/21/19 4A 2A $19140 [9570 | 9570] + $324.92 taxes, fees, port + $798.00 ins Total= $20262.92 (deposit of $3828)

The cast member said that the 11 night Norway/Iceland and the 10 night Med are the most reserved so far!

Dad of 3 Addicted to DCL, By any chance did you get the breakdown of Adults and Kids for the 8 night?

Sorry the quote function does not seem to be working on my iPad right now.

All of these quotes are for 2A/1C in a 11B with no OBB, no transfers, no insurance, no tips. I was on hold by 8:42am CST and waited about an hour and 15 minutes.

Magic:
6/29/19: 10 night Med. $9516.20
6/14/19: 8 night med. $6679.25 (2320.00/230.00/1459.20 taxes 580.05)

Fantasy:
6/22/19: 8 night Southern $8148.89

Dream:
6/28/19: 5 night double dip $5362.62 (1965.00/1965.00/1209.60 taxes 223.02)

Sorry, I don't have the breakdown of the other two. Silver members good luck tomorrow and happy holding. :)

Costco had a 1hr+ hold and then they would have another 1hr+ hold with DCL. Booked directly and got 3 day courtesy hold right now. Will decide on the itinerary and then transfer it to Costco.

If it would be a short cruise, I would do it via my TA. But for an expensive one, now that I am a Costco exec member, it's no contest. a 9K cruise would net me about $800-$900 with costco, and only $200 with the TA (if using a placeholder).

Don't be surprised, though, if many of the initial cruises for the the new ships are blacked out from OBB discounts.

Started calling at 1300 (GMT), eventually got into the queue at 1525, got through at 1640 and was booked by 1646!

7-night Norwegian Fjords from Dover
25 August 2019
1 adult
Cat 5C
GBP £4,653.27 inc £88.61 tax no ins/trans/air/OBB

Initially I was quoted $6,493.67 total inc taxes, I didn't get the breakdown in dollars only for sterling.

The agent mentioned that this was a very popular cruise although I haven't seen many prices for it coming up on this thread.
