Our Greatest Adventure: A 15 day wedding/honeymoon extravaganza!

Wow I bet it seemed like you had taken over the World Showcase by the number of people in your party! Looked like you hit up pretty much every country! Very impressed! I can't wait to be 21 so I can try one of those orange (grand marnier) slushies they look so good!

Lady Marie: We had wanted a HUGE dance party and we sure got it! We all had a blast. And jumping in the pool was the perfect end to our day (except when our room key was left inside our room by my father and we had to sit outside our room waiting for a castmember to let us in, but hey, one of the few things that went wrong, and not too big of a deal lol)

I_Luv_Stitch: We had so many people, it was really a circus trying to get everyone to stay together! Lol Completely like herding cattle…if the cattle were also drunk…I will say I’m not a big grand marnier drinker at all, but those slushies are something else, definitely something to look forward to!

Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately, we are looking to buy our first house so all of our free time has been dedicated to that. :badpc:

The previous night we went to bed pretty early as we had to get up and be at Typhoon Lagoon somewhere around 5:30. One of our groomsmen, Craig, who’s like my brother, is an avid surfer. When he found out about the wave pool surfing, he wanted to do it, and so did we.

So the four of us took a cab over were in Typhoon Lagoon before the sun was up.

There was maybe a group of 8 and we each got three or four rides I believe.

I had never surfed before and I LOVED it!

It was so cool to be in the wave pool with so little people and only the 8 of us in the park. We had an absolute blast! We were speaking to the instructors, who were so great by the way, who said you could rent out the wave pool at night for a private party and they’ll make the waves even stronger. We’ve decided that in 4 years, for Craig’s 40th birthday we are all heading back to Disney and doing it! Woo!

Once our instruction was over, the park was open to all guests and we met up with Rachel, who’s Craig’s sister, and her son Logan.

We went on some slides and took a dip in the lazy river.

And then we were zonked. The four of us were exhausted from being up so early and having a pretty serious workout before 9am. We decided we had one more must do, the shovel and pail ice cream sundae.

We had so much fun, but it was time for us to head back to our hotel and check out, we were switching it up for the rest of the trip to our favorite hotel, with a lot of history for us.:cloud9:

Just found your TR, and I'm really enjoying it! I absolutely love your bouquet with the map flowers - very cool!

I can't wait to hear what your favorite resort is. Having Typhoon Lagoon to yourself was really great. Surfing in a wave pool looks like a lot of fun.

I hope that you eventually got to sleep late after all those early wake up calls. ;)

Basketlacey: Thank you so much!

RunningGirl: Welcome! Thank you! I love that I still have them and they look exactly the same as they did that day, no preservation needed! lol

Wood Nymph: The wave pool was soo fun! I didn’t realize just how much I’d want to surf all day. We are rope droppers all the way, but we did sleep in a few mornings…

Thanks again everyone for reading and commenting. You guys are awesome! :flower3:

Luckily, we had packed most of our stuff the night before, so we just grabbed our bags from bell services and headed on over to the Contemporary, via a taxi.

I was thrilled to stay in the same resort that we stayed in back in 2007 on our first trip together, The Contemporary. On that trip, year of a million dreams granted us a complimentary upgrade to a Magic Kingdom view. I cried, I danced, I was ecstatic. Watching the fireworks from your balcony is one of the most romantic things to do in Disney. I knew that when we got married, I wanted to have that room again. ::yes::

We checked in fine, getting our magic bands, which they were still testing at this point, and raced up to our room where we were met with this view. It takes my breath away every time. :cloud9:

We also had a very nice gift from the hotel for our wedding/honeymoon.

I felt bad eating this adorable Tink, but it was all delicious. :cutie:

We decided to hit the pool for a bit. We didn’t have too many things planned for the rest of today besides dinner, so we figured it would be a nice way to start to relax.

We sat on some loungers and just enjoyed the quiet of the lake.

Tonight, our reservation was at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. We have eaten here numerous times before and it’s one of our favorite dinners. We had invited Cory’s parents along, but his dad wasn’t feeling well. His mom though still decided to join us.

We took the boat over to the Lodge and I really enjoyed these couple of minutes. The lake is so quiet and peaceful and while the sun was starting it’s descent, it was such a lovely moment with my new husband. :lovestruc

When we got to the restaurant and were to be seated, we asked if Izzi was working. Years ago, back in 2008 when we visited for our anniversary, Izzi was our server and he was fantastic! Seriously. He told us to accept everything that came to the table. He sent out little courses along the way including scallops and dessert. He was awesome! The hostess said it would be a few more minutes but we waited.

As always, Izzi was a pleasure and we had a wonderful dinner. He brought us a lovely champagne toast.

Here are two food pictures, although I do not remember what they were. :confused3The food was delicious as always.

We had a really great dinner and Artist Point is still a favorite.

We said goodbye to Cory’s mom and took a bus over to the Magic Kingdom. We walked back to our hotel using the very convenient path and enjoyed the water show before falling asleep.

Your view is fantastic. And I would have eaten the Tinker Bell, too. It all looks delicious.:lovestruc

We stayed at the WL last month and made a last minute decision to eat at Artist Point, a place we had never tried before. It was a cold night and the lodge was just too warm and cozy to leave. We had a server who made the experience a lot of fun. And they gave us a complimentary wine with our Oregon blackberry cobbler. It was one of the highlights of that trip.

The boat ride between CR and WL is very nice. We've taken it many times, mostly to get to ADR's at monorail resorts.

Add me to the list of DIS'ers that just found your TR... And what BEAUTIFUL wedding pictures!!! I knew you could get married at Disney but I didn't realize you could be married inside the park...

And I didn't know you could surf at Typhoon Lagoon... Looks like I'll be hanging with you for the remaining days of your honeymoon to see what else you can do at Disney that I don't know about... :jumping1:

Wood Nymph: Oh, that’s wonderful. That cobbler is delicious! Artist Point never lets us down. I love all the modes of transportation from the monorail and wilderness resorts, makes it much more exciting than just being stuck on a bus each time.

Pagek83: Hi! Thank you so much!! Hope you enjoy the rest of our trip!

NancyLuvsMickey: Awesome! Thank you, you’re so sweet. It’s amazing just how many places are available to get married there that you wouldn’t even think of. I’ve got a few more surprises coming your way so definitely stay tuned!:goodvibes

We got to Animal Kingdom at rope drop and met up with Kate and Craig again. This was our last day we were meeting friends, from here on out it was our official honeymoon, just the two of us.

This was their first time at Animal Kingdom and I was dying to take them on Everest. Has anyone been on that ride with a newbie, someone who has no idea about the whole backward part? It’s a blast!

See? :rotfl2:

We got the must-have tree of life pics, and a magic shot with Stitch.

We then met up with our other friends, Rob and Heather and went on Everest again, this time mugging for the camera in what are two of my favorite pictures from the entire trip LOL

We then went on Dinosaur where everyone’s reactions are pure surprise lol I mean, maybe not ours…:scratchin

We had lunch with Craig and Kate at Yak and Yeti which was delicious as always. The Yak Attack drink is soo good!

Then we split from the group, saying our goodbyes. We had an appointment for a couple’s massage that was gifted to us through Disney’s honeymoon registry.

We headed back to our resort to get our bathing suits and then went to the Grand Floridian Spa. Cory has never had a massage before, but he agreed after much convincing.

Boys and girls are split up and led to their respective rooms while not in the massage. The little room where you get changed and wait is really nice and relaxing with a little pool and sauna and little muffins that were really yummy. I enjoyed the pool while Cory loved the sauna. Seriously, I could not get him out of there.

I guess I was so relaxed afterward that I didn’t take any more pictures that night! After spending an hour or so in our hotel’s arcade, we had a quick dinner from the Contempo Café and then just went back to our room and read and relaxed. We watched the fireworks from our balcony with a bottle of wine and got to sleep at a normal time. It was back to MK in the morning for a first!

I'm jumping in! The wedding part of your trip sounds amazing. Can't wait to hear about the Honeymoon part.

HHMcG: Welcome and thank you! Thanks for joining in :cutie:

We took the brief stroll over to MK after sleeping in a bit.

We headed over to our first ride of the day, Space Mountain.

Through the tunnel…Story about this tunnel, one time Cory thought it’d be fun to touch the ceiling. He got a huge shock when he did that made him feel completely weird for a bit lol He’s not doing that again anytime soon! :rolleyes1

And then we rode again.

Next it was on to Buzz where Cory’s goal was to max out on his score and what do you know, he did!

Me, not so much. I’m determined to do it next time though. Even with Cory’s help, I just couldn’t reach it.

And now it was time for a first, Voyage of the Little Mermaid! Ariel is my favorite princess and I just couldn’t wait to venture into Eric’s castle for a journey under the sea.

I may have been freaking out and skipping in line as we went. No big deal. What? Am I 5? Nope, add 20 to that, but I felt like a 5 year old again. I loved it!

We rode a few more rides in Fantasyland and then hit up the Haunted Mansion. For lunch we went to one of our absolute favorites…The Columbia Harbor House.

We rode Big Thunder Mountain before deciding it was way too hot. We headed back to the pool to cool down and get ready for our late dinner in Epcot.

Joining in a little late but I'm absolutely loving your trip report so far! Your wedding & honeymoon so far seem so magical! pixiedust: I can't wait to hear more!

DisneyHoover: Aw, thanks so much! And it’s never too late to join. I also love your Stitch picture.

Hi everyone! I wanted to get an update in before we are gone for a week. We will be back in Disney World tomorrow :hyper:, February 27-March 6, so if anyone’s there and sees us, please don’t hesitate to say hello!

We took the oh-so-convenient monorail from the Contemporary to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then to Epcot. I just love the monorail and how you get that quick preview of the park before you’re dropped off.

We got to Epcot with a bit of time to spare, so I wanted to try and see Pooh. Luckily, Tigger was out too and we got some of my favorite character pictures of the trip.

Tigger and Pooh were all about my ring.

They motioned for Cory to come in for a nice group shot.

And then Tigger started to push on my shoulders. I was completely caught off guard and really didn’t understand until the cast member stepped in to tell me he wanted me to kneel lol

And that’s when Pooh and Tigger made one of the best pictures ever! I love this! :goodvibes

I was so giddy walking out of there, completely in love with our pictures and the interactions.

We got a quick picture before crossing the bridge to France and to our dining destination, Monsieur Paul.

We sat down to a lovely window seat.

And that was pretty much the best thing about eating here. We were really disappointed and felt the food was just meh. Chefs de France is so much better, in our opinion. The only thing we agreed on liking was the dessert, but I don’t think we’ll be returning here anytime soon.

Before heading back to the hotel, I wanted to catch Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco, especially with Cory’s Jafar shirt. I will say this experience wasn’t top-notch. They were okay, but were a bit strange. Maybe they really didn’t like the Jafar shirt?

We walked to the front of the park a bit disappointed with the last few hours, but we didn’t stay upset for long, we were still in Disney!

I love love love love that photo with Pooh and Tigger! Makes the whole interaction that much better!
That's a shame about your meal and your meet with Aladdin and Jasmine, but as you said you're still in Disney!!
Very jealous of you going to Disney tomorrow, have a safe trip and a lovely time, will you be doing a TR for that trip too??

Oh my goodness the picture with you two, Pooh & Tigger is absolutely adorable! Hopefully that great interaction made up for the somewhat meh interaction with Aladdin & Jasmine. Have fun in Disney!

I_Luv_Stitch: Thanks! We are having a great time and I'm definitely doing another report :cutie:

DisneyHoover: It was fantastic and definitely did. We are having some awesome interaction this trip too!

FancyNancy: Thank you and welcome!

Hi everyone! I wanted to get an update in before we are gone for a week. We will be back in Disney World tomorrow :hyper:, February 27-March 6, so if anyone’s there and sees us, please don’t hesitate to say hello!

I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner. We were at Disney Feb 26th to Mar 1st, the cold and rainy part of the trip. The rain on Saturday helped to keep the crowds down, though, especially at AK. Luckily we were staying in a 2BR at OKW and put the washer and dryer to good use. :)

I would have loved to run into you there. We were at Epcot on Friday, MK on Saturday morning and evening, and HS Sunday morning, then we had to leave for home just when the weather had become nice and warm. :(

Wood Nymph: That’s too bad! I would have loved to meet up. I see you’re going again Oct 21-26, we will be there Oct 18-23, so we will have to meet up then! The rain was definetly not welcome and the crowds at Hollywood Studios were surprisingly large. Glad to hear it helped at AK though. Boo to leaving when it got warm finally! It was a surprisingly cooler trip some of the time.

Thanks for sticking with me everyone. I am back from another fantastic trip that I will be doing a report for after this one.

This morning we were up bright and early for our most favorite breakfast, Tonga Toast at Kona Café! What, we had Tonga Toast once already at our wedding? Sure, that’s true, but we are addicted and we wanted more!

Yum…And that coffee and juice are to die for too.

[/URL
]

We then grabbed a bus from the Poly for rope drop at Hollywood Studios. On our way in, that rascal Stitch popped up in another one of our pictures! Also featuring Cory’s version of Blue Steel.

We headed back for our first ride of the day, Toy Story Midway Mania, and didn’t do very well.

Back by the hat, we ran into the actual alien himself. Man, do I love him.

Along the way, we spotted this adorable wet paint sign.
