Which is the exact reason why a digital camera is by far the best way to go.
Immediately know if your photos came out, if someone's eyes were closed etc., the quality when printed on a home printer are phenomenal, and you can take a ton of photos that can easily be shared by email/CD with friends and family.
Both my wife and I have used film cameras for our jobs for over 20 years and swore by using a good quality SLR camera.
Now we use a digital and take a few disposable underwaters for the beach/snorkeling.
I find, especially with holiday photos where you oft times have to take photos quickly you end up with a pile of photos that don't come out and then end up paying for stuff you don't use.
