Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Gorgeous!! I love the photo in your sig :thumbsup2

I'm with Kristine, never would have been able to wait around for that long! I think I only waited like 5 minutes.

I love the colors of your wedding and I'm not a fan of pink. It looks more like a blush color? Is that what its called? Beautiful! :goodvibes

Courtney, your photography was just wonderful!! Your pictures are so gorgeous!! You made such a beautiful bride-- and I love the ceremony venue!
I love the peonies in your bouquet-- my favorite flower!
I kind of know what you mean about theater-- the last production I was in was in an opera my freshman year of college. Now, every time I go see a play (especially a musical), I get this twinge of sadness. I love seeing theater so much, but that sadness that I don't still get to perform is definitely there.

I just caught up, and I have to say that you looked AMAZING on your wedding day! Your hair girl did a great job on everyone! I love the pink and gold dresses that the MOH's and your Mom & Grandmother were wearing. Very flattering colors together!
Miguel looks great too! So dapper in his tux! But you take the cake, you truly look beautiful, and your photographer did a wonderful job capturing that. Congratulations! Can't wait to read about the rest of the wedding day, and then the honeymoon!

Beautiful pictures!! :goodvibes I knew your wedding would be amazing from all of the planning updates, but I love seeing the whole thing all tied together finally! I love the ceremony space, and you and Miguel look wonderful! :)

Gorgeous Pictures!!!!!!

It all looked gorgeous and beautiful and you and Miguel look so happy and cute together in your pictures :)

Such a magical day!!!!

Your dress is absolute perfection! So beautiful, of course you are too =)
The pictures are beautiful and I love your flower arrangements. I am looking forward to more and of course your disneymoon!

I am in love with your photos! WHAT AN AMAZING DAY! I think my jaw was dropped the whole time I scrolled through. The flowers, the ceremony site, THE DRESS...stunning! That's so cute how Miguel kept saying that he couldn't believe it. So happy you're sharing your wedding recap with us!

Amazing photos Courtney! everything looked beautiful & you looked stunning! :goodvibes

I was the same as you.. no nerves at all in the run up to the wedding, and then that last 30 minutes waiting for the ceremony it all kind of hit me what was happening & the adrenalin rush began! :cutie:

Emma princess: x

Oh you guys are so cute!!! The wedding details are gorgeous of course but I love the cuddle/snuggle ones :lovestruc

Did you know that I was a dual major in Social Work and Theatre? (there is a combo for ya!)

i can't believe you had to wait for 45 minutes. I'm so happy that I pulled up at the church right when it was time to GO because I would have gone crazy. I was one of those nuts who didn't eat :rolleyes1

I had no idea you were a theatre major! Haha, that is quite the combination. Even though I work in accounting now, I have found so many times that my theatre training has come in handy. :thumbsup2

Yeah, we had to get over to the venue pretty early to get started on pictures. It was pretty nice to relax in the bride's room, though. It was nice and quite down there.

I'm just happy you remember who I am! I have no real excuse, just that school and work (and a new nephew) got in the way of feeding my DIS addiction.

I'm loving all the new pictures you added since my last post! ::sigh:: I love weddings.

Of course I remember! I actually still have your TR in my subscriptions and I saw it the other day and thought of you! :goodvibes

Wow! Wow! Wow! So many beautiful shots! Love the photos of Miguel kissing your cheek, and you kissing his, so intimate.

The picture of both your hands with the bouquet reminds me of my similar picture. Miguel's hand is darker than yours, just like Ron's hand is darker than mine. I like the contrast.

You are an amazingly gorgeous bride! All the pictures are great, but I especially love the one of you alone (before the wedding) looking up and sorta to the side.

As I was reading all about your ceremony it got me thinking back about mine. I too tried to slow it all down and capture each moment in my head, but it's so hard! Being nervous, and everything happening at once, and just this huge feeling of happiness.

I'm only disappointed about one thing though. No picture of Miguel tearing up watching you come down the aisle? ;) Or at the very least, any picture of him watching you come down the aisle? I love looking at the groom while everyone's eyes are fixed on the bride.

Thank you, Mel! :goodvibes Our photographer hasn't got all of our pictures uploaded yet. She did a preview of about 125 photos last weekend, so that's where all of these are from. I am sure there will be a Miguel seeing me for the first time picture soon! I can't wait to see that, too! I will be sure to post it when it's ready! :)

The ceremony was gorgeous!

So glad that things went smoothly (despite the nerves)!

Thank you, Joyce! :goodvibes

Courtney, all I can say is WOW! I honestly don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful wedding. Everything about it just screamed "love and romance". It was so elegant! You are amazing for planning such a beautiful day...you should really be proud of yourself for making something so beautiful happen! That was truly a fairytale wedding!! Everything looked perfect...from your hair and make-up, the flowers and the photographer!! I'm in awe!

Thank you! :goodvibes It was definitely a lot of planning, but I think it really paid off. I was pretty impressed with myself! :lmao: All of our vendors did an amazing job!

Gorgeous!! I love the photo in your sig :thumbsup2

Blush pink was what I kept calling it! I think the girl's dresses were actually called tea rose. I liked that it wasn't too bubble gum, but it wasn't hot pink either. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! :goodvibes I only met with one photographer. I had seen her work before and I just loved her style. There are a lot of great unposed pictures that I really love, and I love how she plays around with the lighting and coloring. :thumbsup2

How neat that you did theatre, too! I miss it SO much. I love musicals, and I haven't been able to see a single one since I "quit". It makes me miss it to much! :sad1:

everything looks absolutely stunning and flawless!! :lovestruc:love::lovestruc:love::lovestruc:love:

Thank you! I was so pleased with how things turned out! :goodvibes

Thank you! Jennifer (the h&m artist) was amazing! She was so sweet, too. She really made getting ready a fun event. :thumbsup2 I thought Miguel looked pretty handsome, too. ;)

THE WEDDING - RECEPTION PART 1

While Miguel and I were finishing up taking our formal pictures together, our guests were enjoying the cocktail hour in the ballroom’s pre-function space. I don’t have any professional shots of the cocktail hour yet, but here are some pictures that my MOH #2 got.

My card box ended up coming in! It arrived TWO days before the wedding.

Everyone said that they had a wonderful time during the cocktail hour. We had the string quartet playing modern love songs, and we had three appetizers being passed (shrimp and grits in phyllo cups, croustinis topped with beef tenderloin and tobacco onions, and fried green tomato triangles) Also, the bar opened up and our guests could try our signature drink, the Georgia Peach Margarita. Everyone said it was very tasty!

Meanwhile, Miguel and I were led to one of the hallways that led into the ballroom. Our caterer and DOC had set up a table for just the two of us where we could relax a little before the reception started. They also brought us about six pieces of each of the appetizers so we could eat a little. They were so yummy! We devoured them!

All of the vendors were putting the finishing touches on the room, and I was excited to be able to see and thank my florist and cake baker. A few minutes before the guests were let in, my DOC took Miguel and I into the ballroom. This was probably the moment that I was most looking forward to, and it did not disappoint! Every detail that I had worked so hard on had paid off and the room looked amazing!

Table detail. Thank you Emma (DisneyBarbie) for the diamond confetti idea! One of my little cousins actually went around to all the tables and collected all of it at the end of the night and took it home with him! LOL.

After we oohh’d and ahhh’d over the room and I thanked my DOC profusely for creating my vision to a T, we were ushered back out of the room so that the guests could enter. My grandmother later told me that when the guests saw the room for the first time, there were many gasps! She said that having both the ceremony and reception in the same room almost made it seem more magical because the room underwent such a transformation.

Then it was time to make our entrance! We walked in to At Last by Eta James, which I’m so glad we chose! Everyone cheered as we made our way to the dance floor for one of the two moments that I was dreading most about the wedding: the first dance. (The other was the father/daughter dance). I know it’s a special moment, but I was so uncomfortable during the song, and Miguel was too. We both kept saying we should have picked a shorter song! Haha.

My friend took this one, so it’s not a professional picture and it’s a little blurry, but I love it. I love how you can see the city lights in the background.

When the dance was finally over, the DJ brought me the microphone so I could make my welcome speech, and so that I could introduce my uncle who was saying the blessing. This is such a typical pose for me! Haha.

My uncle’s blessing was really beautiful. He is always the one who says it at family gatherings, so it meant a lot to have him say it at the wedding.

Here’s a few “us at the table” shots. I love these!

A few more pictures taken by my friend. The coloring is really weird, but I actually like that about them! So typical for my MOH #1 to be fiddling with her phone! LOL

It was of course then, time to eat! I wish I had some pictures of the food already, but my photographer hasn’t uploaded all of our pictures. All of the food was wonderful, though! Our guests kept complimenting us on it, and I was really pleased about that because this was one of the most important parts for me! I ended up eating the bourbon and brown sugar glazed salmon and Miguel had the slow braised short ribs. We both managed to eat a good bit of our salads and entrees (in fact, I think Miguel actually cleaned his plate!) before we stated our table visits. This was another part of the wedding that I wasn’t really looking forward to, but it ended up being fun! It was neat to hear everyone’s comments about the night so far.

THE WEDDING - RECEPTION PART 2

After we visited with our guests, it was time to cut the cake. I think that our baker did a fabulous job creating yet another one of my visions!

Another friend picture.

Cutting the cake was actually harder than I thought it would be! I’m not a good cake cutter anyway, but because of the ribbon that was at the base of the cake, it was really hard to get a good piece out. At one point, I just told Miguel to let me do it, and I had the server in one hand and the knife in another and he just stood there and watched! I finally got it though! LOL. Again, so typical of me!
7ecf81a8.png

Immediately after we cut the cake my father came over to do his toast. He kept it short and sweet, but it was very meaningful. He even did one part in Spanish to honor Miguel, which was really touching.
f149fb2e.png

After the toast I was quickly whisked away for the number one moment that I was dreading: the father/daughter dance. Again, I hated every moment of it. I know it’s supposed to be sweet and sentimental, but I just wanted it to be other. Plus, my father kept stepping on my feet! I probably told him 5 times but he just smiled and kept dancing. LOL. He was enjoying it at least!
f6d522a5.png

After our dance the DJ did the anniversary dance, which was fun to watch. My aunt and uncle ended up being the last ones on the dance floor for being married 55 years! Then, the dance floor opened up and everyone started dancing! Miguel and I are not big on dancing, so I didn’t think we would be doing much of it at the wedding. It’s not that we don’t enjoy it, but I think we both get a little embarrassed. My DOC told us that the best way to get the guests on the dance floor was for the bride and groom to be there, and so reluctantly, we decided to go out and dance.

I am SO glad that she convinced us, because we had an absolute blast! We only stopped a few times for refills on our cocktails and a few minutes to sit and rest our feet, but otherwise, we danced the night away! All of our guests looked like they were having the time of their lives!

At 9:30, we stopped to do the bouquet toss. I loved how excited all of the girls got to catch it. One of Miguel’s coworkers ended up being the lucky one!

590abac8.png

Around 10:45, the DJ played the last set of songs, which was probably one of my favorite moments of the night. By that point it was really only our closest friends and family left on the dance floor, and the excitement of the night had really hit us all and we were having such an amazing time.

Eventually though, the music had to end and it was time to get ready for our exit! Miguel and I lagged behind while the guests went out the venue’s courtyard to grab their rose petals. When I had my final meeting with my DJ, he asked me what song I wanted for our exit. I hadn’t even thought about an exit song! He asked me where we were going on our honeymoon, and I told him Disney. Well, it just so happens that he is a Disney lover and he suggested “When you Wish Upon a Star”, that this is what we walked out to! It was so much fun to be showered with petals and hear everyone cheering for us one last time!

We climbed up into our car and everyone waved goodbye to us. My grandparents, mom and dad all had to come over and give us a hug one last time before we took off. Finally, the door was closed and off we went! We were married!

Next up: It’s time to go to Disney!!!! TR link coming soon!

WOW!! It all looked perfect... it's lovely to see all the things you planned come together :goodvibes

Love the table crystals! :cutie: I have most of ours gathered up in a bag after the reception - think I might put them in a glass vase?
At one point during the wedding meal, one of DH's young cousins (aged 4!) was picking up every single crystal off the top table while her Dad spoke to DFiL  - but he noticed and made her scatter them back, hehe ;)

It really looked like you two had the perfect day.. thank you for sharing :bride: :lovestruc

Emma princess: xx

Sounds like an absolutely WONDERFUL day/night!!!!
I am not a big dancer either, but I always find myself dancing all night at weddings! LOL

I am SO Happy for you both!!! I can not wait to hear all about the Disneymoon :)

Courtney, I can't even seem to find words aside from ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Stunning! You should go into the Wedding Planning business. While I LOVED the room our reception was held in, if I had a choice between my location or yours-I'd pick yours! I went for simple elegance as well but I definitely didn't plan out the details as closely as you did. I'd post some pictures of my room but I don't want to take away your thunder! :)

You and Miguel look absolutely in love, I know I said that before but I like to think I'm pretty good at gauging if a couple is meant to be together or not and I'd definitely say you guys are a great fit! :)

So excited for the TR to start!

When will we see a new ticker?! Come in October when I'll be there.
