Hi! And welcome to my third Trip Report here on the DIS. Links for the first two I wrote are in my signature line if you are interested. Unfortunately I messed up the pictures on the Tiger Lady one when I reorganized my Photobucket account. I’m slowly fixing them but it’s going to take a while before I get it back to normal.

For those of you who are new, let me introduce myself. My name is Ariana, I’m 40 years old and live outside of Atlanta, GA. My love for Disney started almost 37 years ago when my Great Aunt and Uncle took me to WDW at the age of 2 ½. This last trip was my 11th to WDW. I haven’t made it to any of the other Disney parks but Disneyland is definitely going to happen in the next five years.

Joining me on this trip was my husband, Jim, who is not a Disney Fan. The last time he was at WDW was for our honeymoon 15 years ago. I wrote a mini TR about our Honeymoon trip in the PTR for this trip. It’s located here if you want to read it:

Celebrate Good Times, Come On! An Oct 2013 PTR

This trip was meant to celebrate both my 40th birthday which was in August and our 15th wedding anniversary which was the week before we left for the trip.

We don’t have any kids, just three of the furry variety.

Sierra, she’s a 3 year old Schnauzer and the love of Jim’s life.

Alex, he’s 7 and a Schnauzer mix. His Mom was a pure bred Schnauzer and Daddy was unknown. He’s definitely a mama’s boy and is almost always in the same room I am in.

And last but certainly not least, my baby Eddie. He is 12 years old and also a Schnauzer. I have the worse time getting pictures of him because of his coloring so this picture is a bit old. You will notice he only has one eye in the picture. Well about a year ago he lost the other one (both had to be removed due to Glaucoma) so he is now completely blind.

In the PTR I wrote the following about each of us:

Me:

1. Favorite Character: Pluto, Pluto and Pluto! I have loved Pluto since before I can actually remember. I have an entire room in my house dedicated to him.

2. Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom all the way. I could sit down on a park bench on Main Street and never move for the rest of my life. Well, I might have to go visit some rides and shows once in a while.

3. Favorite Ride: I am a ride lover at heart. I’d rather be on a ride at Disney than any other place. I’m not much into character greets or parades. Pirates of the Caribbean, Soarin’, Expedition Everest, and Toy Story Mania are probably my favorite at each park. But it tends to change.

4. Favorite Restaurant: A tie between Coral Reef and Rose & Crown Pub. Be Our Guest has now been added to the mix.

5. Favorite Disney Movie: This one is hard for me as I love pretty much all of the Disney Movies. If forced to pick one, I would say Lion King but I love all of the ones from that era, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Lion King.

Jim’s Favorites (these are going to be mostly guesses on my part):

1. Favorite Character: Donald Duck. He also likes Ariel, Kida (bonus points to anyone who can name that movie without looking it up) and Remy from Ratatouille.

2. Favorite Park: No idea. Since he is not much of a Disney fan, I’m not sure he really loves any of the parks.

3. Favorite Ride: If I asked him, he would probably say the Hall of Presidents. He is not a thrill ride junky like me so I’m not sure what I will get him on this trip. Definitely not TOT and I think he’s going to take one look at EE and run the other way.

4. Favorite Restaurant: He only had one restaurant from our Honeymoon that he remembers and wants to eat at again. That was 50’s Prime Time. So I guess that’s his favorite for purposes of this TR.

5. Favorite Disney Movie: Ratatouille. Not sure why he loves it so much but he watched it three times when I was home visiting my Mom in July.

So were my guesses right for Jim? Stay tuned to find out!

A few more details about the trip before I get the ball rolling:

Dates: October 19th – 26th, 2013
Resort: Coronado Springs
Dining: Free! Regular Dining

Oh and one more thing, the trip title. I think that will become self explanatory as the TR progresses.

I don’t have my Photopass CD yet for the trip and probably won’t for a little bit because there were some photos missing. I’m waiting to hear back but the e-mail I got said it could take up to five days. I didn’t want to delay too long getting this started since my next trip is so close. I’ll just have to do a catch up when the CD finally comes.

I had planned on getting up on our departure day at 6 am so we could be out the door by 8 am. But Jim said that would be too early and we didn’t need to leave till 9 am. He turned out to be right, I always tend to leave way too early for stuff because I don’t like to be late.

I set my alarm for 7 am and actually fell asleep pretty quickly. Jim though decided to get up at 5 am so he could be out of my way. Usually I have no problem falling back to sleep after his alarm goes off but this morning was different. I was going to Disney!! I tried to sleep but finally gave up and got up somewhere around 6:15 am.

We ended up leaving the house at:

Much later than I wanted but a little earlier than Jim wanted.

Our first stop was to drop the babies off at our vet’s office where they stay in an extra large luxury suite with a TV and we also pay for extra play time for them. Yep, they are spoiled rotten for sure! Our vet is only 5 minutes from our house so it was a short ride for the doggies.

Alex was super excited, he loves going anywhere in the car and is one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet.

Sierra is the complete opposite, she hates everyone but her family and hates riding in the car because she gets car sick. She was shaking like a leaf the second we turned onto the road the vet is on.

Eddie, well, he was just wondering where the heck he was.

They definitely like to stick their heads out the window.

Jim was pretending to be excited (and the Devil’s Horns begin).

When we got to the vets we realized we forgot the leashes for the dogs. Luckily that was the only thing that either of us forgot on this trip. We borrowed some to take the babies in and got them settled. We were back on the road to the airport a few minutes after 9 am.

We got to the offsite parking lot that we use at 9:45 am and stood shivering till a bus came to pick us up. It was chilly that morning in Atlanta and I was looking forward to the Florida heat. There was no line to check our bags or go through security so we were at our gate by 10:30 am. That was when I got the “told you so” from Jim. Our flight wasn’t till 1 pm so we were still super early even though we left the house 45 minutes later than I was planning on.

That was fine with me thought because I was hungry and our dinner ADR was a long way off. We found a TGI Friday’s near our gate and sat down for some lunch at about 11 am. I got Jim prepared for all of the food picture taking by going ahead and taking pictures during lunch. He was a little annoyed by it but I told him to live with it, my friends needed their food porn. I ended up going with my old standard, Chicken Tenders and Fries:

Jim got a Cheeseburger and side salad:

Our flight took off right on time and was uneventful. We landed at 2:20 pm as scheduled and headed straight to the Magical Express. I could not believe the number of Magic Bands I saw as we walked. We got to use ours for the first time when we arrived at the DME. You don’t need to dig out the DME packet any more for them to scan. Jim was fascinated by the whole Magic Band thing and practically pushed me out of the way so he could be the one to do the scanning. We were then directed to line #7.

As you can see they have changed the signs too. I was a bit nervous that we had gotten in the right line since there were no resorts listed on the sign. Luckily at the end of the line we saw this.

We must have just missed a bus because we were first in line. We didn’t have to wait too long for the next bus and being first in line meant we got the front seat! They scanned our MB for a second time before we headed out to the bus. We were on a regular DME bus, the one on the far left in this picture.

Jim once again pretended to be excited about being on the trip.

Love seeing these screens!!

And being in the front seat, I was able to get some great shots of the welcome sign.

Purple signs, yea!!

Coronado Springs was the first stop.

Since we were at the front of the bus, I told Jim to get my bag and I headed straight into the lobby and got in the online check in line before everyone else. I had requested Cabanas and near transportation, so did I get what I wanted? Yes! We ended up in Cabanas 8A which is the closest Cabanas building to the bus stop. Our room was ready so we headed out to find our home away from home for the next week.

Up Next: I Think I Can Shower and Use the Toilet at the Same Time!

I'm here...be back in a bit to read the intros.

***Okay, I'm back. I loved your intros.

And your furbabies are just too adorable for words.

Mark is like you...must be at the airport forever before our flight. I'm with Jim...an hour beforehand is more than enough time for me.

Yay for an ontime arrival, quick loading of ME and getting to Coronado (I still love that resort). And your room is ready! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Man, you people are FAST!!!! Whew...made it, now I have to go back and read!

OMGoodness, Jim is cracking me up with his pretent excitement. :rotfl2: He DOES like those devil horns, doesn't he? :lmao: This is going to be a riot, I can already tell! :disrocks: and so does JIM!!!!

So Mr. Cool cut you off to get to scan the Magic Bands, huh? :smokin: Yeah, there was nothing exciting about this trip for HIM! :3dglasses

Sooo, I didn't get to share this with you, but last Friday night I went to drop the girls off for an event. When I got home guess what my two GUYS were watching... :scratchin

CINDERELLA on Disney Jr!!!

Yep, my guys have definitely drank the Koolaid! And when I mentioned at dinner that they could change the channel if they wanted to....Brian says "well, don't YOU want to watch this?" Of course, I should have known it was all about what I wanted to watch! ::yes:: :rotfl:

Hahaha!!!! Great introductions Ariana!!!

LOVE Jim's devil's horns - I agree with Oopsi - I think Jim will be a riot on this trip and I also think that he (secretly) LOVES Disney!!! At least, I hope so...

Loved seeing photos of the puppies... They were so cute on their way to their own vacation.

So happy you got your room request... Coronado looks like a fun resort to stay at.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

D~

:goodvibes Yeah here we go !! This is going to be an awesome report I felt badly it didn't work out for the See You Real Soon send off too but hey February isn't that far off :goodvibes

We were at MNSSHP on 10/24, having dinner at Tony's Town Square on the patio. I remember seeing your Chef costumes and saying to my husband what a great idea!

I'm here!

Great introduction, your dogs are adorable!!

Sounds like a great start to your trip. I'm like you, I'd rather get to the airport early than risk bring late! I'm usually there at least 2 hours early and then have to wait a while for my flight. And yay for getting the area you wanted at CSR!

Yay! Im finally here!! Looks like a pretty good start to a trip!! Hope the photopass issues get resolved!!

I got two e-mails last night from Photopass. They found all of my missing pictures!! I was able to order the CD last night so hopefully it will get her soon so I'm not too far behind on posting those pictures.

I'm in. Looking forward to a great report! :)

:welcome: Glad you have joined in!

I'm here...be back in a bit to read the intros.

Glad you liked the intros and the pictures of the babies!

I'm a little paranoid about getting to the airport because last summer when I went home to PA, the line for security was over an hour and I had to run to get on my plane.

It was a smooth arrival. The rest of the evening had a few glitches but I'll get to that in the next update or two.

Man, you people are FAST!!!! Whew...made it, now I have to go back and read!

He was quite humorous on the trip there. I was bouncing with excitement and he was somewhat upset after leaving Sierra behind. He did put on a good face for me though in the pictures!

So Mr. Cool cut you off to get to scan the Magic Bands, huh? :smokin: Yeah, there was nothing exciting about this trip for HIM! :3dglasses

Well, I think it was more of a childish desire rather than excitment about Disney. Sort of like fighting over who's going to push the elevator button.

Sooo, I didn't get to share this with you, but last Friday night I went to drop the girls off for an event. When I got home guess what my two GUYS were watching... :scratchin

So awesome that they wanted to watch Cinderella. Jim actually did volunteer to watch a Disney movie the weekend before we went. He said he wanted to get in the mood for the trip. I ended up picking Tangled because he hadn't seen that one yet.

Following along! :)

:welcome: Glad you are here!

Jim was definitely a riot on the trip! There were a lot of fun moments I can't wait to talk about.

I was very excited to get our room request! But whether or not I liked the location once we got there will have to wait till the next update.

:goodvibes Yeah here we go !! This is going to be an awesome report I felt badly it didn't work out for the See You Real Soon send off too but hey February isn't that far off :goodvibes

I was bummed we didn't get to say See You Real Soon but I totally understood why you didn't make it! And you are right February is only a little bit away.

We were at MNSSHP on 10/24, having dinner at Tony's Town Square on the patio. I remember seeing your Chef costumes and saying to my husband what a great idea!

I bet you did see us! We met Ruthie (Luvchefmic on the DIS) right in front of Tony's and that was the night we went. Thanks on the costumes but they were actually Jim's idea. They were super easy to put together too.

I'm here!

Great introduction, your dogs are adorable!!

Sounds like a great start to your trip. I'm like you, I'd rather get to the airport early than risk bring late! I'm usually there at least 2 hours early and then have to wait a while for my flight. And yay for getting the area you wanted at CSR!

I agree! I'd much rather get through security and have some time to relax at the gate rather than have to worry about making it on time!

Yay! Im finally here!! Looks like a pretty good start to a trip!! Hope the photopass issues get resolved!!

The issues did get resolved as I posted above! I was very happy that they came through so quickly!

Okay so i'm way too excited for this! I'm gonna be scoping out all ypour pics to see if my mom n nephew are in the area LOL

I have so much I want to say but will just sit on my hands here so I don't ruin anything ;) BUT when I get to our meeting point in MY report all bets are off :rotfl:....carry on......:surfweb:

Yay! So glad you got all your pictures recovered!!!! Now on with the show.... :surfweb:

Patience my friend! :rotfl2: I'm getting there on the next installment. Hopefully it will be later this afternoon but tomorrow for sure. :thumbsup2

Okay so i'm way too excited for this! I'm gonna be scoping out all ypour pics to see if my mom n nephew are in the area LOL

Since I took over 1300 pictures, that is a pretty good possibility!!

Awe, you can say whatever you want here (well as long as it's nice things about me :lmao:). I'm looking forward to reading about our meet from your perspective.

FANTASTIC intro! I loved seeing your fur babies! Everyone gets a vacation! :cool1:

Nice score on front seats!!!

Jim is your main character isn't he???

bring on the fun! excited to walk Disney with you and Jim who secretly LOVES Disney but will NEVER tell you...

Yes Jim is definitely a character!! I was pleased that he got into the trip and just went with everything. Some of the stuff that came out of his mouth on this trip made me :rotfl: and other stuff made me

Happy Halloween
