Well, they've found the missing Argentinian submarine. It went missing about a year ago and has now been located and seems to have literally imploded. She surfaced initially to report an electrical short and was instructed to return to port. On the way back, she transmitted that she was alive and well. Then there was a "noise" and she disappeared.
Lost with 40 sailors on board
I remember going through the throws of the Kursk, it comes to mind. We were on holiday and she went down with a massive explosion on board. The Russians lied through their teeth, saying oxygen supplies had been set up and that the crew were alive and well. In fact, even though some crew survived the explosion, they died pretty soon after leaving on letters to their loved ones - which I gather Russia confiscated when Norwegian divers opened the hatches in a matter of hours, something that the Russians had failed to do in over a week. And of course even then, they refused further help in the interests of "military secrets".
So, so sad.
