Scary moment !! We were on TGMR when an announcement was made to the vehicle operators to evacuate the cars immediately ! It was right before the "Oz" scene---- we had to get of and exit near "Casablanca"- the CMs seemed very concerned, and then the entire area was evacuated--- we also saw an officer with a bomb-sniffing dog, but not sure if it related to our incident

I think they bring the dogs if there's anything to investigate...we were at MK before opening one day and they had an officer with a dog checking all the garbage cans (which were empty) and bush areas and stuff. The kids actually thought it was pretty cool!

there was greater security presence at bag check this am and my DH overheard them discussing a specific type of bag they were watching for.

Yikes. I've wondered about bomb/shooting/terrorist threats at Disney. It seems like an obvious target for people who'd want to harm others, but I assume there is a strong security presence. I never really hear much about any problems, and even Googling for info only brings up a few incidents of suspicions and threats, which, given today's world, is pretty reassuring.

Scary as the evacuation is, it's good to know they're on top of things. I wonder if they ever run evacuation and lockdown drills like we do at schools? I guess that wouldn't be cool for the people who've spent a ton of money and are in the midst of enjoying their favorite attraction/entertainment/meal.

We were at Starring Rolls at DHS once and I guess someone had left a bag. We weren't asked to leave but there was security and a dog and they seem to have come out of no where. I think they have eyes and ears every where.

This past May we were told everyone had to evacuate the building at Test Track. Had no idea why and still don't to this day.

I'd never say it can't happen at Disney, because it can. But of all the places in the world where large crowds gather, I'm thinking Disney (inside the parks) is about as safe as it gets.

I heard it could've been related to an unauthorized person in the Munchkin village. I don't know if they ever caught her, but she was described as wearing all black and had a deep green complexion.

Disney is about as American as it gets, so don't be fooled into thinking they aren't a potential target.

Absolutely, Disney is an American icon and probably a much softer target than we'd all like to think. If I want to consider myself pretty safe in a crowd dense American tourist venue I'll guess a Las Vegas casino is probably one of the more secure destinations.
