Great job except I believe breakfast is to 10:30. And they have sliced hard boiled eggs for breakfast too.
From 8-10 PM, along with desserts, are after dinner (alcohol) drinks.

I always defer to the pro! I forgot the hard boiled eggs because I think they are new (to us). I remember telling DH that they had them now because he loves hard boiled eggs! I definitely wasn't sure of the times. We always hit the CL Lounge early in the morning because we are always at the park at rope drop!!!

I sure can't wait to get back to the BC CL Lounge. If July would just hurry up . . . .

Thanks Teena - I know I didn't ask the question, but I am delighted to know the timing of these. It will be nice to have at least one relaxing night!

Hi! We stayed BC CL last May and will be there again this May! :goodvibes So excited! Anyway, I can answer some of your questions. No pics., sorry, but our three kids (8, 8, and 6) stayed in the Sandcastle Club for one evening last year while DH and I at at LeCelliar and watched Illuminations--VERY fun! One of the kids went reluctantly--"it will be boring, I won't have fun, blah, blah, blah..." All three LOVED it--they didn't even notice when we came back they were having so much fun! They loved their dinner (nothing special--normal kids meals, but there were several choices) and talked how the ketchup was put on the plates in the shape of Mickey ears. I really think they liked the break from us as much as we liked it from them! They asked to go back later in our trip, but it didn't work out. We would use it again in a heartbeat. It wasn't very full--maybe 3 other kids and they were gone when we came to get ours. We may do it again this trip, but don't have firm plans yet.

As far as balconies go, not all GV CL rooms have them. I thinks Teena posted exactly how many don't a few pages back. Anyway, I have firsthand experience, as last year we had a GV CL room with only a standing balcony. (We did request a full balcony, but didn't get it. I understand there is no guarantee of a request being met.) However, we DID have a good view. We could see the higher fireworks from Illuminations from our room. We also had two windows--the one with the patio doors to the standing balcony and a window at the end of the room overlooking Epcot. Since we are a family of 5 we cannot get a WV CL room and we really needed the daybed, so lack of a balcony did NOT break our trip--we're going back again this year! I did request a full balcony this year, too. Maybe we'll get it, maybe not. If we have the same room as last year, that would be ok, too.

Sorry, can't help on your 3rd question.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for replying!
My DD actually likes going to the kids clubs, she's weird like that :rotfl: so she should hopefully enjoy the Sandcastle Club. It's just me and her this trip, but I figure I can always use a little "Mom alone time" to read a book and have a cocktail while she's there.
As far as the balcony goes, I'll just request a full balcony and keep my fingers crossed ;)

Enjoy your upcoming trip! :hippie:

Thanks Teena! :worship: I'm just going to request a full balcony about 10 days out and keep my fingers crossed!

If it's on your reservation, that's all you need to do. Most reservations start downloading to us about 9-10 days before your arrival date. Some 5 days before. The room assignors read the requests when they start their room assigning (about 3 days out). So it really doesn't matter when make your request as long as it's on the reservation for the room assignors to see.

Teena, we will be there May first where can I find out the movies for May? Will I be able to see the list before we go or do they get posted on the first of the month?

We knew she'd have a ball once she got there. She is somewhat "change resistant," but she always ends up having a great time (or meal, experience, class, fun party, etc.) I think it is just fear of the unknown. She wasn't crying or anything--she's thankfully outgrown that--just not convinced she'd have fun. She actually liked it the best of the three. She had computer games, tv, toys, and almost undivided attention of the CMs. (I think there were 3 of them, I know there were at least 2.) If we asked now if she'd want to go to the kids club on this trip I'm sure she'd jump at the chance--even if it were at a different resort, just because she now knows that they are fun. I'm sure your daughter will have a ball and that you will enjoy your time, too. After all, it is your vacation, too!

Hope you get your full balcony! Have a wonderful trip!

I know this was directed to Teena, but I thought I would repost that website that we found before our last trip for the movies! All the info was correct when we were at BC last month: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com...tdoormovie.php

We (front desk and concierge) usually get the new Recreation Activities Sheet the day before the first of the month.

I just responded to your post on another thread, and then saw this one! Here's the website with the schedule: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/activity-outdoormovie.php

They put up a big screen on the beach and set up chaise lounge chairs facing the screen with the lake behind it. So it's not in the pool area, but really nice setting. Have fun!

Thanks for the web site, bookmarked it. Since we are doing a non-park trip I would say we will be seeing a movie or two.

Is there any difference between the quiet pool at the BC and YC :confused3

Do they both have a deep end?

Both the same size?

Both have shade?

Thanks for any info!

The YC quiet pool has a hot tub and is more like an oplympic pool with little to no shade except umbrellas and plenty of chairs. I think the deepest point is 5-6 foot

I wanted to report back after our quick weekend trip to YC! I met Teena!!! She's even more awesome in person than here (if that's even possible). I think we talked for about an hour on Saturday and had a quick visit on Sunday between lectures (I was at a conference). I will post a picture when I'm home from work and get a free moment.
We LOVED YC. Loved, loved, loved. Everything was wonderful! I think we must have been upgraded because we had a lovely view of a quiet pool. I took some pictures which I will post. The room was lovely. Lots of space and lots of storage. Full balcony was fabulous. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that we were miles from the lobby. We were all the way at the end near Swan/Dolphin. Since it was just DH and me, it was no big deal. With 3 kids in 2 strollers it might have been a little bit of a hassle.
I didn't appreciate how HUGE these resorts are! Seriously!!!
We had a fabulous trip. Everyone was so kind and wonderful. I had done online check-in and we were greeted by a CM as we departed the DME bus. He had our check-in packet and a birthday button for my DH. So sweet! He escorted us to our room and oriented us to the resort. We had a nice lunch at Beaches & Cream. They even dimmed the lights and sang Happy Birthday to my DH and presented him with a balloon (which we dragged around MK for the rest of the afternoon!). Dinner at Yachtsman was delicious!
It was a magical trip where everyone we encountered was fantastic and we appreciated the Disney magic! My DH wasn't sure about a weekend at Disney without the kids and he's totally sold now!!!

Teena, Thanks so much for the info. This will be a great surprise and fun low key way to end the vacation. A little more Disney magic. Thanks for waving that magic wand! Regards, Skip

PS, We'll look for you in the lobby Saturday morning before we leave.

If ordering a counter service breakfast at Beachclub Marketplace, is a side item part of the meal, or just egg-croissant sandwich and 2 drinks?

I assume you mean as part of the dining plan?

I am not sure there are any "sides" exactly. I am thinking no you would get your item and two drinks.

I would also assume if you only have two meals a day ~ I wouldn't use one for breakfast as it is the cheapest meal to pay OOP. Of course JHMO!

So glad to hear you loved the YC:goodvibes How do you think it compares to the Poly? Just curious as I see you stayed there in 2008. We have stayed at Poly and CR. We are leaving for our first trip to YC on Thursday:cheer2: We are looking forward to it but there is so much to do before we leave. ARGHH!

We liked the YC best! The whole Boardwalk area is awesome. There's so much to do and you have so many choices in terms of food. Epcot was a 5 min walk (and we were at the furthest point from Epcot!). One morning we walked over to Boardwalk Bakery, grabbed coffee and croissants, and then strolled over to Epcot for rope drop. SAB is an amazing pool but that wasn't even the biggest selling point for us. Poly seems convenient because of the monorail but you're still dependent on transportation. At YC you have all of these choices within walking distance!!!

I know you didn't direct your question to me, but I thought I'd share as I've stayed at Poly, CR and YC CL's. We've always stayed in August so the crowds were about the same. I'd say that all CL's were great. YC lounge seemed a bit more crowded and hectic--probably bc it is a bit smaller. It was a challenge finding a seat sometimes. The food options at the Poly lounge were a bit more interesting IMO. All CM's were helpful at all three. We chose YC again this year bc of the location (just wanted to be by EPCOT this trip) and pool. If it weren't for those two things it would have been a toss up.

DH really likes CR CL. The view from the lounge is great and it never seemed too crowded. He likes that there is a balcony at CR and doesn't understand why they put the YC CL where they did.

I'm sure you'll have a great time!
