The anti-dining trip report that could have been a disaster but ended up being Yacht-some!! April 2021 at The Yacht Club! Complete 11/5!

APRIL 15, 2021


My mom and Ava finally arrived while Allie and I were on TSM.
Ava wanted to go on AS2, so we headed over there to meet them.

They were already through the line and getting ready to ride,
so we just stood nearby and waited for them.

Some of you asked which main road they ended up on.
I think what she did was when she got to the bridge near the Swan/Dolphin,
instead of turning left to go towards the Boardwalk, she turned right.
This brought her out to the road where they are building the new hotel…
whose name escapes me at the moment, but it's like a major construction zone
I was happy they made it there safely
and I learned my lesson to never leave her on her own!

We were just happy to see them back in TSL.


I don't think I mentioned that Rise was down when Allie and I went to ride this morning,
so we all ended up going back there together to ride.



This was Ava's first time on it, and while she didn't hate it, she definitely preferred AS2!

We had time for one more ride before our lunch ADR at Sci-Fi, and all agreed on MMRR.




Our adventure on Runamuck railroad had us all hungry
and excited to sit in the dark watching old movies...

APRIL 15, 2021


And now, one of my favorite meals of the whole trip.
I don't know if I was just getting my appetite back so everything tasted good,
but I don't think so because we all loved our lunch here,
though the pictures in the dark leave a lot to be desired.







Ava posed her Minnie and Mickey nuimos so cute on the dashboard...


Allie and Ava both got chicken nuggies, Allie's with onion rings and Ava's with fries.


And my mom and I both got the turkey sandwich which was surprisingly good.
The turkey had a nice seasoning and it was like real turkey, as opposed to some turkey roll.


Allie also got a milkshake...




All in all, a yummy meal.
Walt even made an appearance


After lunch we headed back to Ava's favorite place in ALL of Walt Disney World…the pool!
I don't think we were there long when there was thunder in the area
so Allie and I went back to the room and my mom and Ava waited it out by the pool.

We just relaxed that night, packing up because we had to check out the next day

Next up, our last day…EPCOT and more pool time!

You're right! I couldn't get it for December, but maybe I'll keep trying! I think I ended up making Mama Melrose which we love also!

Now that's not something you hear very often... but it sure makes sense for the age bracket. Which is why I never want Disney to remove the "kiddie" rides, even if I don't ride them, myself.

We had time for one more ride before our lunch ADR at Sci-Fi, and all agreed on MMRR.

Surprising! I've eaten there a few times and never had more than an "okay" meal there. Maybe they upped their game. It's been several years since I was there last.

Surprising! I've eaten there a few times and never had more than an "okay" meal there. Maybe they upped their game. It's been several years since I was there last.

Well, keep in mind that I hadn't eaten much in days, AND that I'm no foodie But I do love a good sandwich!

Sadly, I don't think the pool ever did reopen. They ended up getting Ava her favorite hotdog and coming back shortly after that.

These past few trips, I find myself enjoying afternoon pool time more and more. The one problem is that I get lazy and don't feel like going back out after!

ONE FINAL EPCOT STROLL


We had a very relaxing morning...


but sadly, it was time to say good-bye to our room at The Yacht Club

I feel like our typical last day is usually at MK, but being so close to EP
it just made sense to go back here for the day.


It wasn't even 11 yet…official park opening…and we were Soarin' round the world...


We got off and immediately went to learn how to live with the land...


and say good-bye to dame Judy.


We had gotten all that done by noon and were feeling hungry,
so we headed to the WS for some more Flower and Garden booths.


I had to get the vegetables again,
and was more careful to not tip my plate and lose my carrot this time!


I also tried the street corn…this was good, but not as good as the veggies.


Allie was is always in the mood for something chocolate,
so we headed into the tent...




I have no clue what my mom and Ava ate, if anything,
because I have no pictures of their food.
They are both so fussy,
I imagine they went in search of a hotdog or doughnut or something

We strolled around the WS a bit more, admiring the topiaries….

ONE FINAL EPCOT STROLL, PART 2
IS THAT MOLLY??!!


This is one of my favorite topiaries, and it's tucked away where people may not see it...






I wanted another orange slush,
and was happy to learn I could get it without the sipper cup since I already had one...


As we were making our way around the WS near Mexico, Allie goes, "is that Molly?"
I was like, OMG! I know it's super geeky of me, but I was so excited to see her!

I yelled, "hi!" and she was sweet enough to not only NOT run away,
but she let me take a pic with her!

Thank you, Allie for being so observant!

Side story…when Mike and I were in EPCOT just a couple weeks ago,
HE spotted her! I think I'm walking around completely oblivious!

We continued our stroll, taking more pictures of our favorite topiaries
and finished up the Spike the Bee challenge, which was super fun.






We almost went on Frozen, and actually got in line for it,
but Ava was beat and didn't want to wait...


We zipped back to the Yacht Club for…you guessed it…more pool time!

What a lovely day of riding and snacking along. Love the picture of Ava with the butterfly topiary--she's such a doll!

APRIL 16, 2021
IT'S BURGER O'CLOCK!


Back at The YC, we changed into our bathing suits and in no time at all,
we were relaxing pool side.




Allie ordered herself some nuggies from the poolside server,


and I ordered something I had been thinking about all week,
ever since Allie and I had eaten at the Ale & Compass Lounge...


It's hard to believe considering how awful my stomach was when this trip started,
but this may have been the best burger I had ever eaten!!

This came from the Ale & Compass restaurant as a mobile order
and I was hesitant about getting it, but also very sure that's what I wanted.
It did not disappoint and I ate the whole thing!

Allie had picked up this brownie somewhere…maybe at the Market??


Ava and Gram ate later because Ava was refusing to get out of the pool,
and she was not happy when we made her...

but I think she also got nuggies...


It was almost 7 and we had to catch the DME soon,
but Ava went in for one last hurrah before we did...


We finally bribed her with ice cream to get her out...




Everyone but me enjoyed their last Mickey bars…
I didn't want to push my luck considering I was just starting to eat real food again!

Soon it was time to say good-bye to The YC and our AWESOME vacation,
and board our DME

We were heading home, but not until the following day!
We had booked a room at The Hyatt for our last night
so we could have a "relaxing' morning,
but it turned out to be anything but relaxing!

Awwww, that was SUCH a fun day!! Ariana and I were with Jenny and Joe, and I remember being like, "who's yelling my name?" It was so wonderful to finally meet all of you in person.
