Unsafe ride at Seaworld Orlando evacuated today

Growing up and living near Cedar Point - it doesn't even phase us when roller coasters stop and have to be evacuated anymore. It happens so often there. A friend of mine was stuck on the windseeker swings for almost an hour - swings up 300 feet in the air! That one would do me in for sure! My DD always laughs that I'm not allowed to ride with that particular friend because she goes very often and has been stuck on and evacuated from coasters numerous times.

We have been evacuated off a number of rides at WDW, DL and US and don't get me started about the Monorail:crazy2:.

The worst ride breakdown I’ve ever heard about was It’s A Small World. The boat got stuck for about 15 minutes while those cutesy dolls became creepy singing the theme song over and over and over.

Enough to traumatize anyone for life. :scared1:
We were stuck on there for 30 minutes one time. After about 10 minutes they shut off the music and turned on the lights. All the dolls kept moving however. An employee in waders was in the water moving the boats to the nearest exit to get off. The exit for us was behind us so we had to wait for the boats behind us to be evacuated before our boat was backed up to the exit. It was interesting. The only other ride I’ve been evacuated from was toon town spin in Disneyland. When the lights were on it was all just painted plywood, we were escorted out by a staff member to make sure we wouldn’t take pictures.

We were on the Mummy ride at Universal when it stopped underneath the part where there is fire above. They kept the fire on while we were stuck for 20 or so minutes until finally the lights came on and we started getting evacuated. Oh the memories.

Last time we was at Seaworld my husband said he didn’t feel safe on the rides, I dismissed this and said to him something along the lines of of course they are safe or they wouldn’t be allowed to run the rides. And then this morning when we are at the park we see one of the rides (the ride called “mako”) being evacuated!! Surely that’s not normal for it to be evacuated?
I was evacuated from Small World. So by your logic, it's an unsafe ride?
Same for Haunted Mansion. Also unsafe?
I mean, sure, the Small World song can make you crazy but seriously, unsafe?
I think your logic is seriously flawed

Try 45 min. Yes. 45 min before the shut it down and we got evactuated.

Sea World just announced a standing coaster! Every other park I’ve been to makes you sit on roller coasters. What are they thinking?!? So unsafe.
I’ve been on a standing coaster before and it was horribly uncomfortable the way you are harnessed in, same for the ones where you ride in a Superman flying position.

I have been going to WDW multiple times per year since they opened and I have yet to be evacuated from a ride. Stopped? Yes, I have sat in a ride vehicle 20-30 minutes many times, but never evacuated. I have always wondered how I personally would evacuate in either HM or SSE during the parts where the car is moving downhill backwards, but so far nothing. The longest I have been stranded was 30 minutes in SSE, right by the burning of Rome smell. :crazy2:
That is the exact part where DGD was when she was evacuated from HM, slope going backwards. We were further behind because I'd waited back and loaded with my mom in her ECV, she was with friends further ahead. We were at the hall with the cool chill blowing down our back, they were leaning backwards. So they went out the end of the ride, we were walked out the front. The cool chill was not a fun spot, let me tell you. It had just rained on us prior to loading.

Don't they just pull another monorail along side the one that broke down?
Not when the whole system fails and there is no power to the rails. We have been stuck on it a few times before but nothing major until the time when we were stuck on it from 1am to 5am (back when there was PM EMH). No AC and the windows do not open and your locked in there with stale air, not to mention being standing room only with everyone sweating. They started removing people via a firetruck ladder, but before the firetruck made it to our "RED" monorail they finally had a piece of equipment that was able to push us to the TTC. To this day my oldest DD still is a little leery about getting on the RED monorail. LOL It's one of those memories that you now laugh about.
We enjoyed evacuating from BTMRR and getting to walk through the employee areas on the way out. We enjoyed Kali River Rapids and seeing them drain all the water so everyone could walk off their rafts. Also, Spider-man at US, again got to see the behind the scenes areas:)

Very few stand up coasters exist anymore. Most parks got rid of theirs years ago.

Stand up coasters are SOOOO 1985. Almost all of them suck anyway. Supposedly this new Sea World one will have a better, more comfortable restraint system. We shall see.

If parks want to go retro, bring back GOOD suspended coasters like The Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
