Heyyyy Ya'll!! We just returned a few days ago from our annual trip to Disney World, and had an amazing time! I'm going to try to wrap this trip report up fairly rapidly, since I am starting school again in a week. Oh yay... :rolleyes2

So, I guess I'll start with introductions:

14081962911_4a84b47f79_z.jpg

This is me, Brittney. I am 25, and a Disney Addict. I have been to the 'World' 37 times now, and don't plan on stopping yet! I attend Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!!) for History. I plan on going to Law school when I graduate (hopefully this December!).

Up next, is my Dad:

My dad works as a Maintenance Tech for a big oil company. He loves Pirates of the Caribbean, and collecting electric guitars.

My Mom:

Mom is a high school English/ESL teacher. She is currently expanding her Spanish vocabulary, and enjoys going on vacations. Disney isn't always her top choice, but she plays along! She is probably the most patient person in the entire world, and I have no idea how she puts up with my dad and I!

Since we were going to Disney for Christmas, we picked up my grandma a few days before we left and had Christmas early. We finished packing the night before and tried to go to bed as early as possible.

The next morning, we woke up around 3:30 am and headed to the New Orleans airport. While at the airport, dad got some coffee and I ordered a smoothie from Smoothie King. A few hours later, we were on our way to see MICKEY!!

16006571507_d6ff4ebe79_z.jpg

While on the plane, we checked out Sky Mall. For those of you unfamiliar with Sky Mall, it is a magazine that sells some interesting items. Things like this:

16006298209_5ba7f382a9_z.jpg

Which really makes me believe that they are promoting cannibalism. Just saying.

Anyways, so we landed and it took A MILLION years to get off of the plane!! Seriously people, why do you take so long?! I'm trying to see MICKEY!!! I don't have time for you to gather up your carry ons. Get out of the way!! haha.

Had to ride the Fake-O-Rail first... more obstacles in my way from Mickey!

We elected to allow Magical Express to collect our bags, so we headed down to Level One and were placed in a line for a bus. After a short wait, we were on our way to WDW!

To Be continued...

Heyyy, I’m back for my non-existent readers! Haha. Hopefully someone comes and reads this soon!! Well, anyways when I last left off we had just gotten onto the Magical Express bus.

The driver announced when we were approaching the Welcome sign, so of course I HAD to snap some pics.

Once on Disney property, the bus made its first stop at the Yacht and Beach Club to drop off 4 people. I understand that they have to save gas, and trips… but honestly the entire bus except for those 4 people were waiting to get to Caribbean Beach and we passed it to go to the Yacht Club! Made absolutely no sense, but whatever.

Once we made it to Caribbean Beach, we went to the Custom House to check-in. I had already checked us in online, so it took all of maybe 5 minutes. While waiting, I snapped a quick picture of the tree.

It wasn’t the 3 pm check-in time yet, but our room was ready. We didn’t have our bags yet, and everyone was starving so we headed to Old Port Royale first. Now let me just interject at this point about my obsession with taking selfies. I take them allllll the time, anywhere I can. Bathrooms, on rides, bus stops, lines, grocery stores… it doesn’t matter where I’m at, if I’m looking cute I’ll take one!

So, here is the first selfie after a longgggg morning of traveling…

After my photoshoot, we went to explore OPR.

Another Christmas Tree:

We all went to order lunch, and decided not to start using our meal plan quite yet. So, I ordered a chili dog and fries. It was just okay, by the way… nothing special.

16191552422_d0480b0c3a_z.jpg

Mom ordered the Jerk Chicken sandwich and fries (which was delicious!!).

16192348635_76731ecede_z.jpg

Dad apparently wanted to wait until we went to eat dinner at his favorite counter service in all of WDW (to be disclosed shortly). So instead of ordering lunch, he got a coconut brownie… (yuck).

After lunch, we went to our room to drop off our carry-ons. We were located in South Trinidad in a pirate room… I unfortunately did not snap any pictures due to the sheer excitement that I was in DISNEY!!!

Here are some pics from google:

Anyhow, after checking out the room we went to the bus stop to head to our first park—Magic Kingdom!

16192347015_bd71a3d669.jpg

We walked a little bit through Main Street, when everyone decided that ice cream would be a good idea. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we finally had some amazing Disney snacks in hand! Mom and I both got single scoops, while dad ordered the All American Sundae. After eating our snacks, it was time to go use our first FastPasses!

Soooo we walked over it Frontierland to ride one of my favorite rides of all time:
Splash Mountain ☺

16192342115_cdf20cbbb3.jpg

After Splash, we walked over to Pirates of the Caribbean. The wait time was posted as 30 minutes, so we jumped in line and the funniest thing ever happened. Behind us was a family with a boy who was maybe 8 or 9 years old.

While waiting in line, the boy walked up to my dad without looking and started resting against him. He must have realized that it wasn’t his dad and sheer panic spread across his face as he returned to his family. Poor thing, I would have been sooooo embarrassed.

Dad was pretty cool about it, and no one made a huge deal of it. I couldn’t get that great of pictures on Pirates with my cell phone, so here are a couple I have from our trip in January.

After Pirates, it was about time to go ride the Jungle Cruise. Our guide was just okay, nothing special.

14062276269_a9052d1c1a.jpg

We took our time to walk over to Space Mountain, as we still had a little time to kill before our last FastPass picks of the day.

16166507046_710a00ea83.jpg

After Space Mountain, we decided to walk through New Fantasyland to go to our dinner destination for the night. On the way, we discovered that the Little

Mermaid ride had a minimal wait. After walking through the LONG queue, we hopped on our clamshell rides to go Under the Sea.

After the ride, we went to go eat dinner at Columbia Harbor House. Everyone ordered the tuna sandwiches, which were just okay… nothing special.

16166497606_24853af331.jpg

For dessert, dad got the cobbler and I ordered the seasonal chocolate cake. I was so full, I put the cake in my booksack for a snack at the hotel later.

16006259829_8f88249531.jpg

We were all pretty exhausted, so we decided to go back to the Caribbean Beach to go to bed.

16004874748_a39ae14c2f.jpg

While waiting for the bus, we watched the start of Wishes as the perfect ending to our first night.

Up next: The best food I’ve ever eaten!

Subbing ! Seems like a fun holiday trip ^o^. Haha that poor boy in the pirates line but kudos to your dad for playing it cool. That holiday cake looked so good !

Haha. Thanks for joining me! The cake was pretty good, just had soooo much icing!

Hey, a new TR! And it looks like you're in the same update funk I'm in with my May '14 TR!

However, in your case, this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. We're staying at CBR this year (what?), and I need as many CBR details and reviews as possible! You can worry about schoolwork anytime. This TR is what's REALLY important.

I'm in! We're close to booking CBR for this December, so I can't wait to hear more!

I'm coming back to keep updating I promise!! I had to start back working full time while being a full time LSU student. I'm pretty much ready to pull my hair out!! I'm going to finish though! haha

I'm coming back to keep updating I promise!!

I'm racing you now. I'm sitting on a big update that I've have typed out in Notepad for at least 3 weeks and just needs posting, so you'd better hurry!

Looking forward to hearing all about CBR. We're excited to make the switch this year, but still skeptical about it topping Coronado.

I’m backkkk!! Wow, it has been a crazy semester at school! I apologize for not being able to keep coming back and updating regularly, but I’m definitely ready to keep this party going.

Real life update first before we continue…
1. School has been crazy hard this semester, but I only have 6 classes left before I get my BA in History!!

2. I got my class ring from LSU a few weekends ago, it’s beautiful and I am beyond excited about it.

3. Work sucks, and I’m ready to go back to Disney.

Okay, enough about adult stuff… When I left off, we had just finished the 1st day at Disney. On to DAY 2!

After catching up on my beauty sleep (I was exhausted from traveling, and walking so much), we woke up a little later and headed to the bus stop at South Trinidad.

We waited for quite a long time until the bus for Hollywood Studios finally showed up. Once we arrived to MGM (yes, I still call it this), we headed directly to The Great Movie Ride.

16544772685_3cb04f9ec8_z.jpg

There was not a very long wait for the Great Movie Ride, but we ended up getting stuck in the Wizard of Oz segment. I’m not going to lie… it was torture.

16357277560_b06028c741_z.jpg

Once we escaped the Yellow Brick Road, we decided we were ready to grab something to eat. Dad suggested we walk towards the Tower of Terror to find something. So, off we went.

16357276370_aa7f32c529_z.jpg

After reviewing our options, mom and I definitely agreed to not let dad choose lunch options anymore. We decided to go to the Backlot Express for chicken sandwiches instead of grabbing burgers. (It turned out to be a much better choice).

Once we arrived at the Backlot Express, there was no table in sight at all. Mom and Dad went to order, and I decided to stand around waiting for a table. Eventually, I found several families who were finished eating their lunches, and decided to just stand there. I guess they all got uncomfortable, and three tables immediately opened up. J

16543040381_45a89a0132_z.jpg

After lunch, we had a few fastpasses to use. First we went to ride Star Tours, it started to sprinkle a little bit outside so mom went and found a covered area to wait until we finished the ride.

After saving the rebel spy, the three of us went to use our FastPasses for Toy Story Midway Mania. Obviously I was the winner, like always. Hahaha.

Luckily, I planned our FastPasses so well that we had minimal wait times in between each time slot. After dad got a cup of coffee, we went to Lights, Motor, Action!

I can never time this right…

16357270740_0719039391_z.jpg

Once the show was over, we walked around to view the Osbourne lights.

16357058548_d36826edd4_z.jpg

After our day at MGM, we decided to head back to the hotel to get freshened up for dinner. On our way out of the park, we walked through some shops and bought a few souvenirs.

We arrived back to the hotel, and then the princess of the family spent hours getting ready for dinner… (okay so that’s me… but beauty takes time, duh).

Finally I was ready!

16358843577_54599f9aac_z.jpg

Once everyone was dressed nicely, we got on the bus to go to the Magic Kingdom. After a longggggggg bus ride, we arrived and boarded the monorail towards the Contemporary.

16358444479_785c9e952b_z.jpg

The Contemporary had the most adorable Frozen Gingerbread display in the lobby area…

16358413969_d99402036c_z.jpg

Around 9pm, it was time for dinner! We hadn’t eaten at the California Grill in several years, as the last few times we just didn’t care for it anymore. However, we decided to give it a second chance, and I am elated that we did! It was by far the best meal of the trip!

Our waiter brought out some bread and butter… complete with our own fern branch. I normally do not care for ferns in my butter, but no doubt this one was an amazing addition. Completely changed the taste of the butter, okay so I’m kidding. It was weird.

16358442529_3205aeec68_z.jpg

When it was time to order, there were several items I was contemplating over… like the steak, or the steak… ummmm or steak. I went with my first choice and chose the steak. It came complete with a tomato risotto, which was AMAZING. Coming from a person who absolutely detests tomato, this should be a sign that it was life changing.

16358441149_43746b5192_z.jpg

Dad got the Tuna steak, which he definitely enjoyed as well.

16358439789_907e875378_z.jpg

Mom ordered the chicken, and mashed potatoes.

16358834167_5a0a46f7a4_z.jpg

Before we ate dessert, it was time to watch Wishes. I was completely elated to be at the California Grill for the viewing, until we went to walk outside and a monsoon took place. So we settled to watch it indoors.

16518717986_e3392cc382_z.jpg

For dessert, dad and I both got the sundae sampler. It came with a trio of sundaes, with the reverse root beer float being my favorite (vanilla soda with root beer ice cream… genius).

16543636252_794c04a98a_z.jpg

Mom ordered the No sugar added dessert, Panacotta. She did not care for it, and said it was like something they just threw together at the last minute.

16543019581_58d946437f_z.jpg

Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals. After paying our bill, we went back to the bus stop and waited for the Caribbean Beach bus.

16358425229_a977be7b2a_z.jpg

Up Next: Day 3, Christmas!!

Who stole your mom's apple off her dessert plate?

Reverse root beer float? Sounds amazing. I want it. Now. But not before I get the Oompa Loompa and goose who lays golden eggs for Easter.

CG looks great! We've considered it, but never took the plunge. After not taking your advice on the entrée at San Angel last year, I SHOULD listen to you more often, but oh well :)

Glad to see you picked the TR back up, and looking forward to hearing more about CBR. We leave in less than a month!

Thanks for joining ya'll!!

wiscbugs--it's okay you don't like LSU, everyone is entitled to their own opinions! lol. But still, GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

nilla--I have no idea where that apple went! She probably would have enjoyed that better than her panacotta. You guys definitely should try CG, it was pretty amazing. I still have to pick back up reading your TR!! Can't wait to read the new one from the CBR stay!!
