Over it.
I've never been to the UK but I really look forward to going - I expect to like the English countryside especially well.

One Foot in the GRAVE
I am definitely there as well, but also in the home stretch of raising my daughters—oldest is 21 and youngest is 14. When my girls were young my parents helped me with my kids, now my kids help me with my parents. “Role Reversal”Parenting my parents.
You are what's officially known as the "sandwich generation". Been there; bless you.I am definitely there as well, but also in the home stretch of raising my daughters—oldest is 21 and youngest is 14. I just wanted to expand on this a bit. I’m done raising my children; my youngest just graduated from college. Our parents all live in other states near our siblings, so needing to actively care for them some day probably won’t happen for us. I’m almost finished with total knee replacements (it was a year long ordeal with an infection and multiple hospitalizations, but the end is in sight), which I did so I can maintain an active lifestyle as I age. I’m working on losing another 40 pounds to make that active lifestyle even easier. I probably have to teach school for another 10 years at least. But I want to enjoy these next 10+ years and my retirement years and have one hell of a good time! This quote from Hunter S. Thompson comes to mind:Empty Nester or Second Act
