Is it generally available to the parking garage?

Needing to deal with luggage and getting to a bus may be difficult for some. Having a rental car would help with getting luggage help at the resort. I am getting concerned about my girlfriends meets!

Is she traveling with someone to the airport or able to get a ride and be dropped off? Some airports do curbside check-in. I’ve not heard of assistance to the parking garage but you can always call and ask.

If she has her own wheelchair there are ways to attach luggage. I usually travel very light so all my luggage fits on my chair even when on a bus.

Thank you.
I think I have to talk to her about travel light.
Being dropped off, and curbside checking would help. I hadn’t thought of that.
I will be heading to MCO before my friends do. I will ask about the wheelchair to the parking garage. She does not have her own.

To the garage as in a personal vehicle parked in the garage or picking up a rental (and, if the later, take-and-go or wait at the rental counter line?

I‘d remember to tip generously, especially if waiting for luggage as well.

For the trip to WDW. DSis will rent a car and has decided to then drive to the baggage claim area to get our friends.

For the trip back to airport….I suppose it’s best if she drops those of us with mobility issues on the level where ticketing is.

I guess I don’t have to worry about getting a wheelchair to the rental car, as long as DSis will rent the car. She is able to walk distances.

So, the airline we are traveling on has changed our up coming flight from non stop to 3 stops both ways!! I will need a wheel chair to get me from gate to gate...some of the stops are in Denver and Dallas where gates can be far apart. Also, when we check in to our out going airline. Does anyone know how to go about setting this up please?

SORRY ABOUT THE DOUBLE POST>>>>>>>>>>>>>So, the airline we are traveling on has changed our up coming flight from non stop to 3 stops both ways!! Call your airline. Let them know that you require wheelchair assist through each stop. When you arrive to start your travels (hopefully someone will be accompanying you), if you can make it to your airline counter, there will be a wheelchair assist area it is well marked. If not right inside airport you will find a white courtesy phone, just lift phone and let them know you need a wheelchair. (Allow extra time at airport, if you must wait at the courtesy phone. At the start, an airport employee (usually company named Prospect), will take you through security ( you can request restroom break, or food), all the way to your gate. When airline starts boarding, an employee will wheel you up to the door of the plane. (If you cannot walk the aisle make sure when you call airline you note that you will need an aisle chair). Sometimes you will board before all other passengers. However, in 2020 and 2021, I've been boarded based on my assigned seat. Airlines board back of plane first to avoid close contact.

When you are ready to deplane, remain seated - you will be one of the last ones off the plane. A wheelchair will be waiting for you right outside doorway. If you need an aisle chair it will be brought directly to your seat. Once again, an employee (I've only seen Prospect as a company name, but there might be others) will wheel you to the next gate. Again, don't hesitate to ask for restroom or to stop and purchase drink.

Then you repeat for your final change of plane. When you arrive at MCO, they will take you to baggage claim, grab your luggage and escort you to Magic Express or other means of transportation.

When leaving MCO, if you are using MCO. If you have someone accompanying you, ask them to request assistance with any employee they see. There is no assistance at Magical Express drop off and does required time. (I still don't understand why), but once you get someone, you just repeat as above.

I've been fortunate to travel 9 times with Delta to MCO, and other than allowing yourself extra time (I request a Magical Express earlier pick up - instead of 3 hours, I ask at the resort for 4). With needing to wait for wheelchair assist and a pat down at TSA at MCO, that hour is used quickly.

While it is at your discretion, I do tip when I arrive at the gate. Depending on stops, etc is my tip based on.

Make sure that you will have adequate layover time at each airport in-between; there is nothing more miserable than a short layover, and hurrying through an airport!

Oh - and please remember to tip your "helpers" at each airport as well. 🙂 They really do work hard, often pushing folks around all day long.

Call the airline and have them book you on a flight that is non stop!
You are allowed to make this change without a charge.

Not everyone has that luxury. There's no way for me to get from here to WDW without changing planes. If I wanted a non-stop, the closest airport that offers one is 250 miles from here. I've had to wait for over 20 minutes for my requested wheelchair to come get me, so I'd love a non-stop. But I'm not willing to drive 250 miles for it. Consider yourself very fortunate if you've got one close by.

It’s really unusual to have that many stops/change of planes, especially on a change from an original nonstop flight.

You do have the right to ask what alternative flights are available (and, if desired, a refund of purchase price under certain circumstances).

Without getting too personal, can you share your airline, originating airport and preferred travel dates so that someone reading the thread can provide a more customized response with potential alternatives for you?

The original poster said the airline changed the flight to multiple stops

On one trip I had a short layover at a huge airport, and they put us on one of those electric carts and drove us right to our gate. Not gonna lie, it was pretty fun.
