This thread is inspired by the book " The Last Lecture" in which author Randy Pausch gives his three young children a written version of his life lessons.
He also spoke at his university Carnegie Mellon where he was a professor and gave his "last lecture".

So what would your 2 pieces of advice be ( only 2 ). Mine would be:

Be true to yourself and Don't do groceries on Saturday.

Never - ever - settle for less.

Live your dreams.

Always do the right thing, and you'll never have to answer to anyone.

Work hard, play hard.

you can do anything you put your mind to

XXXXXX---this to shall pass

I love this thread!!

What a great thread. I'm going to sit on this question for a few hours and report back. This really gives me a lot to think about. Thanks!!!

Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you wanted. And it can be the most valuable thing you have to offer.

Look for the best in everyone. Don't let a first impression( or third, or fourth) turn you off of someone. We all have a bad days.

I love that speech. What an inspirational guy. I can't wait to read the book.

I'm going with my gut instinct.

My first is my favorite quote:
The past can not be changed, but the future is whatever you want it to be.

My second:
Tread lightly on the planet.

What a great thread!

1. "Anything worth doing, is worth doing well"
2. "God never gives you more than you can handle" (boy, have I mantra'd this to myself over and over and over again in my 41 years) -- but it is so true.

love this thread!:thumbsup2
Keep 'em coming!

Your real character is the person you are when nobody is looking.

Take care of each other; you're all you've got.

oooh, this is a terrific thread.

Here are mine...though I love all of the ones above.

First, stop and think.

and

Everything in life is sweeter if you share.

I loved that lecture...
To my kids I always tell:
1. Be kind to others
2. Friends and health are most important to enjoyable life, take care of both.

trust the Lord, with him you are whole.

Love your family like you love Jesus, with your whole heart.

nice thread

Friends will come and go, but family is forever! You will always have your siblings to rely on no matter what. (as I'm currently experiencing.)

Patience, patience, patience!

Love this thread!

1. Be satisfied with the simple things in life.
2. God first. Everything else will follow.
