Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Rather than having so many individual sticky threads at the top of the board, there will now be a link to this thread in the Links to WDW Dining FAQs and Information sticky thread.

We have had our reservations booked at CRT breakfast since 180 out!
When we made the reservation we book four people and paid in advance for four people. Just recently we realized that my Mom wasn't going to be able to come due to complications from a knee replacement.

The credit card we used was a Visa Debit Card from Bank of America and we closed that account two months ago. What's going to happen? Should we just chuck our losses since the money can't be refunded to the original card and will check-in still allow us to check-in even though the reservation says four and there are only three of us??????

When I was there in June, a family at the next table paid for an extra person by mistake. They refunded the difference in a Disney gift card.

I was hoping that someone could help me? There used to be a calculator available to help you figure out when to call for Priority Seating ressies. I was wondering if there is something around like that to figure out what the 180 day mark is. I have a general idea but I don't want to miss out on ressies because I messed up the calculations.

Oh yeah we are going May 20, 2007.

Thanks in advance.

Got my CRT lunch ressies this morning for March 14th!! Saves me waking up early the rest of the week.

Yes, it's on wdwinfo.com. Look on their home page for the link.

Thank you very much (and the Beattyfamily too!)! I found the info that I needed!

I am trying for a reservation at CRT for breakfast or lunch anytime between November 25th and 30th. If anyone is going to cancel one, please contact me, so I can try to call CRO to grab it!
Thank you,
Danielle

We just returned from our end of September trip. We had an 8:00pm reservation for CRT. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! We had gotten up at 530am with a 3 and 5 yr old to fly out and they were too excited to take their usual nap. They were already exhausted by the time our reservation time came and of course it was about 45 minutes from our ressie time until we were really seated. (now 845- we usually eat at 6 or so) THE POOR KIDS!! I was all caught up in the idea that this would be the perfect 1st night dinner. THEY WERE MISERABLE (so much so that my 3 yr old went to sleep on the chair- even with all the activity going on around him). My 5yr old was fidgeting, spilling stuff and acting out- again exhaustion- and like a terrible mom we threatened to spank him over it (AT DISNEY NO LESS :( ). It was a great idea but I would recommend that others learn from my foolish mistake.

As far as the food:
My mother and I both had lamb and it was AWESOME. DH had the Prime Rib and it was not so tasty. Desserts were all very good.

I had read that you could see the fireworks from the castle (another reason for the late reservation) but you could not really see them from where we were seated. I asked to be seated by a window if we could but they said it didn't matter (I think you might have seen them a little better).

WOULD I DO IT AGAIN (Yes- if on the DDP- our bill was over $250- but probably not otherwise).

It's been a few years since I did this...anyone have updated link to the best strategy for cinderellas character breakfast? Thanks!

Best Strategy: Get up early and start calling a few minutes before phone lines open up.

No real strategy needed.

I got our reservations for CRT today!!!!! It will be my youngest DD's birthday and she always talks about eating at the castle. Hopefully this will be a nice surprise for her. I did not know this until today - if you are on the DDP your credit card is only used to hold the reservation. It is not charged unless you don't show up for your reservation and do not cancel 24 hours in advance. If it has been posted before I somehow missed that fact. So it was a nice surprise for me since we are on the DDP. I was fully surprised b/c I expected my credit card to get charged. :woohoo:

Just watch your acct. though. I made my ressies in Dec. w/ DDP & my card was charged the full price after the CM said it was a guarantee. This is my ck. acct. luckily I had the money. I was going to call & bring it to their attention but I think I want to pay OOP for it anyway instead of using 2TS credits. Just ck. your card to be sure.

Thanks for the heads up. I will watch. I will know right away if they do charge my account as it is my checking account as well. I will make sure I have enough in the account to cover it. THANKS AGAIN!

Wow! I am reading this in amazement. I had no idea that it was so hard to get these reservations! Last time I was in WDW we walked in and waited about 15 min. to be seated for lunch. That was in June 2000, and from what I understand the meal is different now. We ordered from a menu, and I don't think any of the characters were actually there. My daughters really liked the atmosphere of the castle, but the food was mediocre and overpriced. I wasn't even planning to do it on this trip( July), but I have a 3 year old DD who LOVES Cinderella so I called yesterday afternoon (about 178 days out I think, and was offered B,L or D) I must just pick lucky dates or something. I chose dinner at 6:15 on 7/15 our last night there. Wow, I must have luck on my side. Why does everyone seem to want breakfast the most? It seems pretty pricy to me for preplated eggs etc.. for a few dollars more the L and D seems like a better deal (although there is no question you are paying for ambience not food!)
I wish everyone luck in getting their reservations!princess:

Congrats on getting a ressie for CRT! But, just a word of warning: Cinderella and the princesses are not at the dinner meal. They are only at breakfast and lunch. Dinner has Fairy Godmother and the mice.

Today is 180 days out for me. I tried this a.m. to get CRT ressies but was unsuccessful. :( I tried for 8/6 and 8/10. Should I try again at 180 days out for 8/10 or would that be a waste of a phone call? Any advice would be great.

If you want it, call every morning. If you care less for it, it's up to you :)

It's a gamble. Good luck!
