Whew - finally caught up from last Friday!!! I just am having the hardest time keeping up with work and baby planning! I can't comment on everything, but I really do love it all!!!

The donald duck is just amazing.
All the BIG GIVE outfits are incredible - I wish I was talented, fast and not busy enough to help out! But I send thanks and  to everyone involved!

The new puppy is adorable!! Actually everyones dogs are just so cute. I have two of my own - a giant yorkie (really purebred and 17lbs - and NOT FAT) and a black lab. They are both great and puppies are so cute, but I don't think we could handle another!! :scared1:

You all are so wonderful and such an inspiration. I can't wait until I can find some time to site down and make some more clothes! I have so much fabric laying around. My husband tells me that our little girl (due in 6 weeks!) has enough clothes already - but really can a girl have too many clothes?? I think not!!

Keep up the good work everyone and have a safe, fun weekend!

Jess

I think there is some tutorials for the math in the bookmarks. I'm not 100% sure, I could be wrong.

Someone PLEASE tell me 7 year olds get better!

I have been informed that 7 year olds:
1) KNOW everything
2)Can make mean faces at Mommy
3)Know MORE than grownups
4)Don't need to listen
5)Should be able to do what they want

Oh AND the Mommy of the 7 year old should do what the 7 year old wants ALL the time! :confused3

It gets better right?:scared1:

I've heard it's DEFINITELY over by the time they turn 27.

:moped:

Kristine, I don't know that a "pattern" would make it any simpler. But I don't know for sure, have you checked the tutorial in the bookmarks? I am the most mathmatically challenged person I know and I am being for real...I use my fingers a lot, the 9 year old usually figures it out first, and even I figured out a patchwork twirl skirt. Oh, yeah, wait, the example she used in the tutorial was close to my DD's size so it was a little easy to figure out...HEY, with any luck your DD is the same size as the example in the tute, and VOILE you have a pattern, you'd better go check it out...

1.)I had a big 'ol multi-quote with thoughts of doing lots of :rotfl2: and  . Then, Tessa came over and hugged me and said "Why do you like being on the internet instead of playing with me? So, of course, now I have to get offline!!

2.)For all of you that think you're too cool for a tiara, you're just fooling yourselves! :rotfl2:
1.)I love that Tessa girl!!
2.) :rotfl2:

Nope can't live without AC! It will be 100 here today! I grew up in a house without AC and I remeber the day when I was 18 that my mom had had enough! She went and bought an AC! We laid in the floor directly under it for at least an hour! I always had to walk from the bus stop to my house (about a mile!) and in NC spring is terrible...it will be COLD in the morning and blazing hot in the afternoon. So the short of it...must have AC!!!!!
I know what you mean, my parents didn't get A/C until the summer I got married! Then it was just a little window thing. I think they got central air not long after that. I've never lived with A/C, although I do dream about it!! Today it's 90 degrees, but the wind is blowing, so it's not so bad. Actually, it could get bad, we are under a tornado watch. Let's just hope it blows over though!! :rotfl2:

Ok, this is a horrible pic, but it's the best one I have of me. We had a princess party at church to help the teens raise money for a project. And yes, I DID wear mine for pretty much the entire day even after I got home. You know, I think it helped with the sewing I did that afternoon.

Love it!!! You go girl!!! You are now an Official Member of the Tiara Posse!

Nope, 7 year olds dont' get better! But, by the time they are 15 or so, you get so use to it it doesn't bother you anymore!

I love this soooo much!!! Its a shame Hope's too ickle for a petti!!
I didn't know for sure what ickle meant, so I had to go look it up!

You know, they make very very small pettis! They are so cute! Just something for you to think about!

We just found out that we are going to be adding a new baby to our family. Our little finches have an egg in their nest. We are so excited, because we are going to be able to see how they take care of a baby.:cool1:

Oh, how cool!!!

Oh thank you for that laugh. Crazy day here and I needed a good laugh! I will try to scan a wedding photo tonight..or take a dress up photo :rotfl:
Glad I could help!!!
Love all the new outfits!! My husband is loading the suitcases in the van, we are off to Disney World for 10 days, check in the 8th, my birthday. I know I will have a lot of catching up to do when I get back.

Have fun!! We will be on a new thread by then, but I'm sure you will find us! :thumbsup2
Hey has anyone used the sewboutique for dolly patterns for the Fisher Price "sweet as me" dolls? I've checked their website and can't get the dimensions. They are the dolls little has. And I'm going to make my MIL make her some matching doll outfits. My in-laws used to have a doll shop and make ooak's, my father in law even sculpted some of them, but needless to say she is a pro at making doll clothes so I don't have to :thumbsup2

...t.

That is so cool that your in laws made dolls! Do you have any pictures of them?

Okay...here is Kristine's "newbie" question of the day ;) If I was to purchase a pattern for a patchwork twirl skirt...would it help me with the math for figuring out how many squares I need? OR would I have to figure that out by myself (I'm a social worker...not a mathematician :rotfl: )

I think there is some tutorials for the math in the bookmarks. I'm not 100% sure, I could be wrong.
Yep, there are! :thumbsup2 I believe it's under dresses/skirts then twirl skirts

OK I hope you all don't mind my little :offtopic: trip report. Since my WDW vacation is 515 days away, we need to do a little improvising here. Heather, feel free to join in...wearing a tiara of course.. :rotfl2:

So last night we went to "Magic Kingdom" (AKA Ocean City Boardwalk). Here we are next to the beach renovation...

IMGP5650.jpg

Our first ride was Dumbo:
IMGP5635.jpg

Then we trecked 20 feet to Buzz Lightyear! I think DH won! ::yes::

IMGP5637.jpg

We came back to Fantasyland via the Walt Disney World Train:

IMGP5638.jpg

It was super crowded by now! Here are the little ones waiting for the Big Ones to get off the swings.

IMGP5641.jpg

We had lots of fun on Cinderella's Golden Carrousel!

IMGP5646.jpg

IMGP5647.jpg

IMGP5648.jpg

And then we stumbled upon a character meet and greet! It kinda looks like a mouse :confused3 :rotfl2:

IMGP5645.jpg

Finally we got adventuresome and went on Splash Mountain. They let little ones on there and DD3 wanted to go. Ok off we go!

IMGP5654.jpg

Our final ride were Teacups! Count me out

IMGP5657.jpg

By now we were starving and didnt want to be late for our ADR's at Tony's Townsquare Pizza. Here we are: :bitelip:

IMGP5658.jpg

We missed Wishes cause we were still eating. They lasted 5 minutes :faint: so here's our final pic. Just imagine fireworks going off behind us! ;)

IMGP5652.jpg

It was a wonderful trip! The only bad thing was poor DD4 tripped and skinned both knees. (see pic above...she's on the left)We sought immediate first aid (two bandaids and lots of hugs and kisses). I am a really big croc fan...but I have to say it is very easy to trip in those things! :worried:

Thanks for coming along with me....and don't feel the need to quote this huge post! popcorn::

Sorry - my poor grasp of the english language. 'Ickle' has stuck as 'little' in our house ever since my sister was about 6. She had to sing a big solo in the school christmas concert, it was just too bad she had her braces fitted the day before. Is anyone familiar with that old Christmas class 'ickle gongkey'!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK so here's my last BIG GIVE top. I hope they will be suitable for Florida in August. I forget what real sunshine looks like living in grey ole' england!!!

Picture001-1.jpg

Sorry for the huge shadow - yep it's me!!!!

OMG, they are so cute...and so happy to be at the beach. Looks like we might finally get some beach whether up here this weekend.

Cathy! I love your Trip Report!!! Tooo cute!!!

Cute!!!

And

Very cute top!!! I love the hidden mickey dot!

Clare - I LOVE that you dotted the 'I' with a Mickey. Too cute!

Ok, I need a second (or 3rd & 4th) opinion. I grabbed these 2 fabrics out of my stash & then I wasn't sure I liked them together. The more I look at them, the more I like them, but still another opinion never hurts.

I can't take the credit - DH came up with the idea and made the template for me!!

I think it depends what you are going to use it for - the green is a little bit busy for me but if this is being used as an accent to the yummy yummy looking fabric, I think it would work well.

I'm planning on using M5568, top B & then shorts.
M5568.jpg

Green for the yoke & the shorts & ice cream for the main part of the top & possibly swiping an cone or two to add to the shorts.

I'm also planning on a criss-cross backed top & shorts for my younger dd.

The trick is, firm boundaries and quick consistent consequences for poor attitudes and disrespectful faces and comments. I swear it works. Just let them know that being seven does NOT mean they get to start disrespecting mom and dad. If they want respect they need to give it. At this age they do get that. (I had this EXACT conversation with a student this afternoon...and yep, she was seven...she had a much better afternoon after our chat!)

just one social worker's opinion!:goodvibes

I wanted to show you all a photo of my new Christmas tree skirt. The girls always have their own Christmas tree in their room, so I wanted to do a Fab 5 tree this year. Last year was Cinderella.
