:confused3 So we shouldn't all be calling her with special requests??

How did I know it would be YOU who'd come up with something smart-add?? :rotfl:
Lemme guess....you were kicked out of the all-girls Catholic school, too....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: But then, if you were, you probably did THAT on purpose.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Don't need to hit this gal upside the head with a 2 by 4......well, maybe you do :rolleyes1

Nope you don't cause you're wicked smaht! :teacher:

I will let you know how they work....

I will be the one touring Cartagena looking like a walking Maxi-Pad :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Needed a liquid warning!!! :lmao:

You should have saved that for the next pirate run. It would have cleared all the swabbies out!

And on that note...good night!

Aw poor Mike surrounded by Wenches. You better be prepared for the cruise! ;)

Hi Paula

Yes, I am soooo done, and feeling great :thumbsup2 . No tests or Dr's until September. Although I am having some funky, weird foot issues I may have to have checked out this week. I think it is chemo related.

Thank You for asking!!!!

Aw I'm sorry to hear that Mary Ann! I hope it's nothing!

Ever since the captives were rescued in Colombia, I've been waiting for more people to be worried about THAT port. Even that doesn't scare me...I'm REALLY looking forward to Cartegena.

Oh believe me everytime that story shows up on the news, you can hear DH audibly sigh! He's already said, "Nothing like a lot of PO'd rebels just looking to get back at us Americans! I just know it's going to be me you hear about that has gone missing in Columbia!" Yep he's such an optimist! Always expecting the best!

Julie...Can I ask a stupid question? I am new to this board, and this will be our first cruise with Disney. We would like to participate in "ALL" of the fun. Don't really know if that is possible...but one can try.

Back to my question...is it too late to sign up to participate with the fish extenders? And, if not...how do we go about doing so?

Thanks, Carol

Welcome!!! :flower3:

I find it ironic that you feel this way about Philly and others love it - can't comment as I've never been there but I feel the same way about the England.

Most people rave about England, about the history and the quaint villages etc, etc

I see England as dirty, cold, wet, grey, council estates with lifts that smell like urine etc, etc. Oh and its very expensive too... after seeing how my remaining family in the UK live, I'm very, very grateful that my parents decided to immigrate to New Zealand.

Also - I'd just like to say that I mean no disrespect to anyone that lives in the UK and likes it. Its just simply my opinion :)

Oh that is all my DD (14) talks about...moving to England! She tells me that as soon as she finishes school, she's moving there & getting a "flat". She tells me she loves everything English. Mind you, she's never been there!

I am off to get the last reminent of my surgery in March worked on. There is still a extra bump of skin where they did the repair. They have now realized it is not going away on its own so now I go for the 4th procedure or surgery.
They are going to do dermabrasion to get it down. In lay terms, they are going to sand it down. This does not sound like a fun way to spend a couple of hours. :)
Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Hope it all goes well!

Hi, Carol -- sorry I just checked the thread now -- it's not too late! Take Mike and Tom's advice and fluff a few posts and then PM me with the info (cabin number, others in cabin, etc.). Cheryl's advice is a little off :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: love you, Cheryl!   spelling of Bellelinus and number of posts required to PM are both correct in Mike's . . .:lmao:

Not noted for my great typing either!!:lmao: :lmao: I really thoguht the post had to be 25??:confused3

...but I'm special princess:

No comment!!:flower3:

Thanks Lisa. I've talked with "her" in the past, and I KNOW she'll appreciate not having her name out there quite so much:thumbsup2
It's a miserable job that she has, and the less people contacting her, the better.

I know any of us who have ever tried to organize dining for our groups can attest to what a PITA it can be!!

PITA does not describe the job even a little.:rolleyes1 All I know is we are glad it is over with.:headache: :headache:

From the very beginning dh has told me that we (at least him & the kids) are NOT getting off in Columbia. I still haven't decided...... I did book us a shore excursion but, I am thinking that I should just go ahead and cancel it now....
I can totally understand his feelings -- we have always made it our policy that as long as we are resposible for minor children we won't go anywhere that is questionable and we won't ride motercylcles. ;)

I just hope...and I mean this sincerely, and not snippy (honest) that the ship is close enough that anyone who stays onboard can still at least get a good look at the historic old city & get some good pictures.

It's a personal choice to make and I'm definitely not going to try to talk anyone out of their decision.
But I really do hope that whoever stays onboard can at least see some of it from the ship. The old buildings look fascinating.

And maybe those of us who DO go should leave our personal info with you.....in case our loved ones back home need to be notified.
Okay...that was only semi-kidding!

You mean like this? My DS10 reading every word of the monument. When we went to England, all he wanted to do was visit WWII sites.

0327thomasreading.jpg

Wow look at that concentration! That is amazing how interested he is. Definitely going to be a history major I take it?

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great 4th weekend! We did another short road trip to visit El Malpais, El Morro (really neat!), Petrified Forest, Canyon de Chelly, and Window Rock. Had a great time!

I'm surprised you didn't close the thread while I was gone!

That sounds like a blast! Glad you had a great time!

Need some prayers...

Just got word from my Uncle...my cousin was taken to the hospital under the impression it was her appendix that burst...it wasn't... it was an overy....so both were removed...she was sent home and the meds she was on caused her to get violently ill...she is back in the hospital on new meds and iv's....Last year the lost their wife/mother to cancer (it was very bad) now this...please keep them on your prayer list...

Thank you:hug:

Chrissie

Aw Chrissie I am so sorry! A prayer has been said!

Must be having a blonde moment..I don't get it!?!

Chrissie

You would had to see Mary Ann's previous image of the cooling pads made for migraines that she is going to wear around Columbia to keep her cool! Should be quite the sight to behold! :lmao:

...but I'm special princess:

No I'm special! :rolleyes1

:sad1: What's going on this week? Just got a call from my mom. One of my childhood friends passed away this weekend. He's been battling lukemia for the past year or so. He's leaving behind a wife and 6yr old son.

It's going to be difficult telling DS tonight. He hung out with this family quite a bit since they still live in the same neighborhood as my parents.

Oh my that is terrible! I hope DS handles it okay!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Laurie, not to be a downer here, but I know from the Med group that was very close prior to our cruise last summer, it is never the same after the cruise -- you mean to stay close, but the people on the thread just drift away after a while . . . we should appreciate the closeness now (and don't worry, the cruise will be all you anticipate, and more!) because, like so many good things in life, it won't last forever.

Waaaaaaah!!!! :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

Sigh....

So many comments.....
So many images.....
So many people to get offended by my commentary....

Ah such restraint! Not very piratey though! pirate: ;)

I know (by experience too) that it is good to wear a t-shirt while snorkeling so that you don't get burnt to a crisp, but has anyone tried those special "swim shirts"? Are they any better then wearing a regular t-shirt?

Here is a link: http://www.alexandme.com/Mens_UV_Swim_Shirts_s/9.htm in case you don't know what I'm talking about. Just curious.

My kids use them all summer, they seem to work

Ds12 started French in school this past year and that is how he talks about France now. "France is the greatest, blah, blah, blah." He loves to speak French around us, knowing full well we have no idea what he's talking about. I took Spanish many moons ago, and dh took Latin. :)

We think of snorkeling as our second job. My son is the only one who's worn anything other than a plain old t-shirt while snorkeling. Actually, he trades off and wears both. The rest of us just wear t-shirts....and we ALWAYS do. We've learned the hard way.
Anyway....in our experience, a plain old t-shirt is just as good, and my son is as white as white can be. He burns way too easily.
Save your money, take old shirts that you can toss at the end of the cruise.

I just spent a ton of money. I got my newest Magellan's catalog and was only going to order new liners for my Splash Caddy. Ha!

I got packing cubes to organize my clothes better, another packing thing to keep my tops from being wrinkled ....I have some for my guys' shirts and they work great, but the one I bought for me is deeper. I might even be able to fit a dress or two in it.
Finally got a travel alarm clock with a face that stays lit all night.....
I really went to town!

Hi Andrew, I hope Susan is better and the kids enjoy their camps.

What you said at the end is something I have to constantly remind myself -- and my girls -- that while it is so much fun to have something to look forward to, we have to be cautious not to spend so much time living in the future that we fail to appreciate the present.:thumbsup2
Yes ,I wish it was cruise time now, but donot want to waste 5 weeks. Its so close now, I can 'feel' my tickets coming in the post.
Andrew DEREK UK

Just picked my DS up from scout camp Sunday, he had a great time
, maybe they could exchange scout patches?
Hope your DW feels better soon, it's getting close to when we Really start getting excited.

jack
I will ask DS Stephen to ask tonight at Scouts.
:sad2: :sad2: He was sooooooo funny!!:rotfl2:

I hope DW is feeling better!!!:flower3:
For one of the first times in my life.....I am wishing to grow old faster so I can get on the ship!!!:lmao: :lmao:
:
Thank you she is a lot better now.

Will this be the first and last time Cartagena welcomes DCL? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I think they will be back, its a nice port, and we will enjoy it, I did last time I was there, and its location is good for Panama Canal.
Am trying to catch up on my Disney Podcasts... and one of them mentioned a refurb Orange Stinger is coming (this is a DCA attraction) but they made no mention of when the refurb will happen.

Disney.com does not show it as being closed when we will be there.

Any of our left coasters heard about this?
I read it was being changed and upgraded, with a new theme to fit in with the Pixar theme of DCL now.
I see England as dirty, cold, wet, grey, council estates with lifts that smell like urine etc, etc. Oh and its very expensive too... after seeing how my remaining family in the UK live, I'm very, very grateful that my parents decided to immigrate to New Zealand.

Being from England so sorry you feel like that and know there are places all over the world that do not reflect the true beauty of the country. We all have our own preferences be it towns villages, mountains or the seaside.
There is still a lot of beauty to be found and certainly love our heritage and would miss that if I left. It is possible to be here in Kent with its stately homes such as Leeds Castle and Ightham Mote and be within reasonable driving distance of Cornwall, The Lake District and Scotland with the variety of beauty to be found in each of these.

Brenda

I have to partly disagree, whilst we do have issues and are not perfect, there is a lot of nice things in England and London is a wonderful city, I see a lot going on for the Olympics, and the rail links to Europe.

As you say places like Leeds castle Lake district and Scotland have beauty, we have a great country, but a few nasty people!

Attention!!!!

I was just looking at the catalog as well and was wondering about the Splash Caddy. I take it you like it since you ordered more liners. What size Splash Caddy do you have?

Penny
