The Golf Cart Thread

Yea I was hoping to pay less after I sold 2 of them. But I probably need to wait at least until I get a bigger truck or toy hauler. If I got it now I would have no way to haul both my camper and the cart.

Take it from Lonestar and myself, don't give up your pup just to apease your golf cart fetish lol. Lonestar and I are co-authors of a soon to be released book titled "How to spend thousands of dollars to bring a cart to the fort". As much as I like having my cart, it takes a lot of money to bring it thanks to having the wrong type hauler.

Yes but the toy hauler gives you much more space. I will have the cart in the back of the truck and my pop up (once two very nice guys help me fix it) in tow. But the 6 of us in a pop up is TIGHT!!!!!!

Buy you a 1 ton diesel truck with a long bed. That way the cart goes in the bed of the truck and you can keep the pop up. You will never notice you are hauling either. Plus when you decide to get a toy hauler no problem because you already have the truck.

Maybe the book will reimburse us.:lmao:
Have you figured out how to haul your cart now that its lifted. Besides changing the wheels and tires.

...I can't let Rog outshine me.

Whats wrong with the cart??? Is it not running right? Or are you just talking about rattin' it up?

The cart is fine (I think) but my pop up popped a cable, so I high jacked a bud truck and highered Stacktester and Tungpo to help me out.

If Tungpo fixs it like his carts then I should have a lift kit and new paint job by the end of the day. ;)

Yea I hear ya about buying a big truck up front. Which I should do but prob won't. I procrastinate too much. Besides like the cart I only need a regular truck 3 or 4 times a year. The rest of the time I can get by with compact car. I am seriously considering first a Toyota Tacoma with a 6500 lb tow cap or possibly the bigger Tundra. But I need a crew cab so I will have to get a long bed Tacoma or just the reg Tundra. So I can fit my bike or the cart in the bed and tow the camper too.

Rog the reason I envy you is that you got a hot looking cart and you don't even own a camper. I just want a cart to use at the Fort and while camping during Mardi Gras. Other than that it will sit most of the time. Unless I can get a fast one and then I could ride it to work if it could go about 4 miles on a charge.

The new 09 f-150 when properly equipped can tow up to 11,500 pounds might want to look at one they also say 21 mpg.(if you can believe them) As for the cart, with good batteries they should do around 20 miles per charge. Or a gas cart (which I have and love and drive every other day) can do over a 100 miles on a tank. Oh once you get a truck you will wonder how you ever lived with out it. All I have ever owned are 3/4 and 1ton 4x4's. But if you get a truck get a crew cab the 2 extra doors are nice.

You know, the only problem with the f-150's, if you get the crew cab, the bed is only like 4 and a half foot long :( I looked at em as an alternative to getting a new 250-350, but by the time you equip it out to tow etc, you could pay a couple grand more and get a nice long bed 250....

Nashville Dodge was seized by the State for not paying their sales tax, they have 30 days to pay up or they will auction off their assets. Might be a good time to get a good deal on a Dodge diesel.

They make a bed longer then the 4.5' its around 6' still no 8 footer but better then 4.5'. But I agree the amount of money a 1/2 ton cost you might as well get a 3/4 or 1 ton. But when it comes to trucks I have always thought bigger is better. I wish I had a International CXT

I agree a truck is a great thing to have weather you camp or not. Just around the house you will find uses for it too. I always had a 4x4. First was a bronco, but dad had the F150 and now I drive a 1500 Z71.

I also have to agree that the 4 foot bed on the F150 grew cab SUCKS!!!! that is why I didn't buy one back in 2000 when I got my chevy 1500.

I drive a 2000 Chevy 1500 Z71 3rd door with an 8 foot bed. Best part about the bed is my new toy will fit in it with the tail gate closed!!!!

Okay now you guys are just rubbin it in. This is kinda like going to a porn site when you don't have a girlfriend.

But yes I won't buy a truck unless it has a 6 foot bed. I need the room to fit my Harley in there once in a while and just maybe some day a cart.
