How to make an easy tutu and hair bows~updated!

these look great! I bought some ribbon a few weeks ago, but haven't gotten up the nerve (or the rest of the supplies) to try one yet! :lmao:

My MIL went to a conference at the Contemporary Resort last week. I donated a complete set of princess bows for a silent auction (to benefit the Immune Deficiency Foundation). She said there were several bids on each, and lots of interest. I hope Disney didn't mind the copyright infringement!

Subscribing...

Still hoping someone can post pics of how to do the knot on the bow and how to attach it to the clip. Those pictures seem to be deleted from the original instruction.

Thanks for all the inspiration!

I thought I posted in this thread before but now can't find it!
I am really interested in making the tutus but want to make an adult size one for....me! (for a costume.)
Can you tell me how long my tulle would need to be when I buy it anyone? I am about 5'5" but don't want it to go to the floor.

Also, any ideas of what I can use for around the waist? Obviously a headband would not fit around an adult waist!

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to thank youfor the tutu directions. I've been thinking of making one since we scheduled our trip months ago, but now, with less than a week to go, decided to finally do it. I think it turned out great!

I'm not daring enough for the hairbows yet!

Thanks for this thread! I love the idea of making tutus for a birthday party favor and may totally try that. :) I've done some hairbows, but not that style and I want to try that, too... with 2 girls I need to get better at all this! ;)

OP - the pictures towards the end of your bow instructions were deleted. can you please update?

thanks!

I just found this as well and I want to try making bows so bad! The pics have been deleted though! :guilty:

To the OP -- THANK YOU! My two DDs want tutus for xmas and I found your original thread last week. I e-mailed a few friends and we are going to have a "girls' night in" making tutus for our little ones for the holidays.

these are AWESOME..thanks...i see the outfits people sew and feel so overwhelmed...now i know with this and a custom t..my sassy girl and our friends daughter can match and disney and look like a million bucks..

THANKS:lovestruc

Can't wait to check out the link for the bows.

My sister is bugging me to make my niece some for school. In her uniform colors of course! She just reminded me the other night that I still have to make her a jumper for school.

Question for everyone -- where's the best place to buy the tulle? I went to Michael's today and they had one roll of pink, and then I went to JoAnn Fabric and they had several colors, but no pink! I want to make a pink one for DD2, a purple for DD4. Maybe both will get purple :)

After making numerous tutu's I have found that the flat tulle is actually easier and cheaper. I think the directions are in post 40 let me know if you have questions. I used the spool tulle in bulk that I ordered off of the internet when I made the tutu's for party favors all in one color. For individual tutu's I always use flat tulle.

Flat tulle can be found at Wal-Mart for $1 a yard. Good Luck!

this is FANTASTIC !!! I can't wait to make the bows and tutu ! Thank you so much for sharing this !!!

Thanks again! This is so helpful. My DDs are a little younger (hence shorter), so I'll need to figure out if I need six yards or maybe try five per tutu. Love the rock n roll tutu in that post!

To the original poster.. Can you re-post the how to make a bow instructions? Your pictures are no longer on the thread!!

THANKS!
