World of Color Superthread

***disclaimer*** this is what i observed last night (6/15) in no way is this official. hopefully it helps give some an idea.

black line- this is where i waited at 7:00 with my yellow fastpass from picnic meal. around 7:05-7:10 they let a first wave of people into the general viewing area. colored dots represent viewing area colors. in front of each color section are cast members that check your fastpass. after passing "black line" we waited in line at yellow for approx 15-20 min before we were let into our final viewing area. yellow had 3 tiers. bottom (wet zone) 2nd tier then 3rd tire where i was. behind my section there was a row of benches where it seemed wheel chair guests were able to sit. to my left, (3rd tier yellow section) there was a roped off section. i believe this was also wheelchair viewing.

Thank you for posting this pic. So helpful!!

Thank you allen2003! This is exactly what I was wanting to see. Even if they end up changing the colors around, now I know how far the sections extend and how it looks compared to the rest of the surrounding area.

Excellent, thank you. If I look at the AG location I would assume the outdoor seating would have a great view. Is that not the case?

Is the black line where EVERYONE should line up? We are doing the WOC dinner pkg and will need HA seating.

Great map!

This is my experience from tonight. My friend and I had a pre-order picnic meal. We arrived around 530 and ate our food. We were given yellow fast passes for the 9pm show. We lined up around where the Ariel ride will be at 7. They started letting people in a few minutes after. We got in on the first phase and got in line at the yellow section. After maybe 20 min they started letting people into the yellow viewing areas. Most rushed to the bottom but then people began filling up the front row of the upper areas. We were lucky and got a front row on the 3rd tier. Being close didn't matter to us. Our priority was being the first in our row so nobody would be blocking us. The show itself was amazing. We had a great time. We watched the 1115 show from the back side. Not as good but it was very cool seeing all the jets going off. Hope this helps someone. Sorry for any typos...I'm writing this in bed on my phone.

Welcome to DIS!

Thanks for sharing your experience as your 1st post!

not really sure sorry. i did picnic so i basically got a color fastpass. the other 2 dining options receive a fastpass that says "Preferred dining." i have read that you go to the blue section but don’t know. i'm sure someone here can give you a definite answer.

Thanks for the picture. I'll circle the area on the map that I have so that I know where to go. It's been a real help!

OK, I have a question related to WOC but I'm not sure where to put it.

For families with toddler(s), if you are to wait for 2hrs from the time they let you in what do you do to occupy your babies?
I would like to get a good viewing spot but the thought of keeping DD busy for 2hrs without being able to walk around is daunting. Plus what about if we need to change her diaper. Would we even be able to get out and get back in without getting dirty looks? I don't think people would want to see diaper changing action right in front of them... :lmao:

Thanks!

No. They close the outdoor seating area for Ariel's at 7:30pm and only serve inside after that. The patio is right on the water and gets pretty wet, plus the viewing angle for the show is all wrong.

However, the woman next to us at WOC on Saturday said the bar at Ariel's, which is on the upper level and has a decent side view, is letting people watch from there for a $10 cover charge. :confused3

Yes. They open up the barrier in 2 places around the middle when they begin to let you line up for your section.

Jack, take a look at this link you can see the pier off of AG in it. At least from this spot it looks alright. I would be a little worried about the roof obstucting the view and the flat angle looking at some of the features that are placed forward on the stage. But basically not too bad.

I was at Disneyland on Monday and Disney California Adventure yesterday, and the line for the World of Color Fastpasses was SO long! I was in line for at least an hour and 15 minutes, but I got the blue section for the 10:15 show and stood front and center. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be, most awesome view and I didn't get that wet. But I guess there were so many people lined up to see it by the time they ran out of Fastpasses that they added a THIRD show after the 10:15 one.

Not likely. Today (Tuesday) is not blocked for AP holders and will be really crowded. :sad1:
I was there on Tuesday. Yes, it was verrry crowded, but not unmanageable if you went in with the right mindset. Regarding WOC, I entered the FP queue at 11:50am and picked up my FP at 12:27pm. It was for the 2nd show at 10:15pm. Considering how busy it was, I thought they might already be distributing FPs for the 3rd (just announced/added) show.

Note: I did get the RED section, which is towards the Golden Zephyr. I made sure to get to our waiting section early, in order to have an opportunity to get closer to the "center" as possible. While the view of the front, center water projection screen is less-than-ideal from this section, overall, the show was still impressive and amazing to watch. You don't need to be in the center sections to appreciate all the fountains and effects. It was pretty, pretty awesome! :thumbsup2

So if they are doing WOC FPs until 12:27+ does that mean no GRR FPs until after? Like when? Anyone know?
