What is the stay and play? Something I'm assuming 2 adults can't use
Called and had a big whopping 10% off room-only Didn't book anything.
CM told me that September is a very popular and busy time to go so I needed to book soon or they will fill up Everything we have looked at says September is one of the lowest times.
THat's what the online CM told me yesterday! That rooms fill so fast in September, I better book now. I kinda thought that was crazy! I was there in 2010 and the place was pretty empty!
I don't know... in 2010 we ended up arriving a day early (we drive and we got to leave a day earlier than planned). We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just outside of the DTD entrance. The rooms were HUGE. Ridiculously huge. And the pool was nice. And it was walking distance to tons of food choices. My hubby's company gets a discount with them, we could stay there for $82/night and get free breakfast every day and have all that space in that big room. SOmetimes I think that is our best bet. I just don't know. Disney better offer me something soon or we just might go that route.
No I live in GA...

Wow! That makes me want to call and see if I have a FD PIN!
QUESTION for anyone:
I get emails from disney.com and sometimes do get PINS sent to me .... would the PIN "attached to my name" automatically be emailed to me as well or would I still have to call to find out?
Julie, we will be there the same time (we go Sept 13-21). Even though we have been before i to feel that the planning and counting down takes over. Too much excitement to look forward too.
This is our thinking as well. I know we'll spend more than $200 on food but certainly not even close to what Disney "gives" you for free dining. Meanwhile, you are paying rack rates on rooms. I'd much rather have a discount on the room or the stay and play.
Right, kids stay and get tickets for free.

I have heard other Dis'rs say that they never knew they had a pin attached to their name until they called, so if you are concerned about it, it would be better to call than wait.
i'm glad im not the only one who dosn't want free dining and wants a different type of promo. free dining is not as great as most people think it is, and alot of people waste food because of it. now if you could convert some of those desert's that come with meals into snack credits i'd be much more likley to consider it.
We can eat for much less on our own and would love a good room-only discount.
I'm hoping for ANY discount
When I called today to see if I had a pin, the CM said I had one that expired. I told her that I never knew about it and she said it definitely would have been emailed to me or sent in the snail mail. I never received one that way And now I have a current pin but I never received it either. Only knew I had it by calling.

What scares me about paying for food is #1- my husband likes 1 sit-down meal a day. He's kind of a food-snob and doesn't like "quicky meals". #2- We're bringing our 2 boys (age 15 & 20) and you know how males that age can eat!
Since I have the time (no PINS out yet) I should just try calculating a rough estimate on what we'd likely spend in food. Then it would be more clear which was the better option- FD or RO discount.
