~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

Glad your package has arrived but I want to wait and see everything together. And I am not sure how but I forgot to comment on the GH bag. Perfect but such a bummer about the wallet. So many fun details on that bag, love the ric rac.

Hope the a/c is covered!! Hope you have a nice week off.

What kind of dealership tells their customers to call themselves?? I worked at a dealership for 13 years. We ALWAYS called the company for them. That is, if we didn't know the answer...if they sold you the contract, they should know what is covered!

But anyway....don't worry about the AC. It has been cold, rainy and dreary for days here with no end in sight. I for one will be ready for some heat :) I promise to wear deoderant! Lol

Sooo... I just knew I would cave... I cannot keep a secret from you all for long - especially when it's this good...

I am sure most of you remember our themes from last trip right?

I was Donald... Alli was Up... V was Goofy...

Well - we are doing themes again this time around... but we've changed it up a bit...

I am going with Toy Story... Alli is staying with Up... V is going Monster's Inc.

So, I contacted someone who belongs to a few of my customs groups... She makes headbands... Rediculously FUN headbands... And sometimes she makes Ears... So, a few months ago, I commissioned her to create some great customs for our trip, and she was super excited for our themes... YAY!!!!

Well - today - our first installment came... And O.M.Geeeee! Like - Now I know what people feel like when they get my bags... The anticipation is crazy - but so worth the wait! These are so awesome, so addicting, and so one of a kind... Super - duper elated!!!

Rather than make you all wait... I decided to be nice, and officially reveal our themes for this trip...

With out further ado... Our treats from Princess Pie Bowtique...

Victoria's 100% original Monster's Inc. Ears:

And her modeling them... sort of... :confused3

IMG_0242.jpg

Then... Her rediculously Ahhhhhh-mazing OTT (Over The Top) Sulley headband... We are all soooo in love with this one!

IMG_0244.jpg

IMG_0245.jpg

And then... My cute little shabby chic Toy Story headband... I love this... Jenny hand stitched the hat to make it more "Jessie-esque"... And it's hard to see - but there is rope there, and little bandana ruffles and little cow ruffles.... Soooo cool!

As I said... This is the first installment... There is more coming... :woohoo: And possibly more after that... :cool1: I CANNOT wait!!!

D~ <--- who thinks there may be a serious problem here...

I love Jen's stuff I need to contact her about some baby headbands.

They are just so awesome! It must feel great to know you will be the only one there wearing these! Just like me with my bags :)

And they look so much more comfortable than the Disney ones!

Ahhhhhh!!!!! I am having the BEST time reading this PTR!!!!! I am all subscribed and ready to read! LOL! You all are going to WDW over Myca Mouse's bday! Ill have to have you send her a pic of AK....she LOVES AK and we haven't been there in our last 2 trips! Crazy!

Dorine, aren't girls only trips just something so special? Casey went to WDW with us once in 2007 and that was enough for him for awhile...he enjoyed it but his idea of vaca isnt walking 10 miles a day and waiting in lines! LOL! So Myca Mouse and I started taking solo trips and wow....what special memories.... I will never ever forget those nights of holding her hand and strolling world showcase and chatting and laughing, or taking a 1am ride on the Speedway and singing "It's A Small WOrld" at the top of our lungs.... You know....Disney truly is magic.... I think back to these moments that Disney have given us and I just smile.... I will cherish them for my lifetime and beyond.

PS- I am SO happy you LOVE your hair gear! I think I may be even more excited than you for the rest of it! I am just exploding inside to get going on the latest designs!

I agree that the Chucks make my PF act up more than any other shoe, but I still wear them to ball games. The inserts do help - I can at least get through the entire game. Soon I'll switch to flip flops though.

I wish I could stand them that long.. They are so cute and so fun!

I meant to add last night that I Love ASICs shoes! I have a pair of ahem"running" shoes that I wear a lot - my feet do get tired in them if I wear them too long though.

I just purchased my first pair of Asics in a very long time. I remember having a pair before Josh and I were married - I am not sure why, but I switched to Nikes... But those Asics were the most comfortable shoes ever... Glad I switched back now... I just love my new pair. I haven't worn them enough yet to find out if they make my feet tired.

I broke down and opened the box and took out the instructions before we left for the game last night. I read through everything and now I am chomping at the bit to get started! Too bad I'm not going to even get home until after 9 tonight....

Have a great day!

Yay! I hope you got to look at it a little more yesterday.

Edit: Not sure why you couldn't see the picture, it's the second one on my FB page. Kat update: She's on her way home! Currently in Okinawa, where she was held up briefly. The hospital sent an update to her Dad, who is still on his way home too.

Thanks for the update, so glad she is on her way home.

I went back to your FB page - and it's not there. Do you have it uploaded so that only certain people can see?

1 WEEK!!!! 7 days!!!!

Until the weekend get away and shoe shopping adventure!!!

Whoot - SOooooo excited! Cannot wait!

[can you tell i am excited... Work your fingers to the bone!!!! Once we get there you are NOT allowed to work! just play!!!

Yay for no work - I need a break!

[I foresee a lot of silliness too:
Like: Who can talk more like a whale.. maybe texting each other all weekend will not be able to understand each other very well??

That could potentially be a REAL problem... :scratchin

[I know everyone is very excited to see D~ new bags, SORRY SUZI and I ARE MAKING HER HAVE A WEEKEND OF FUN!!!!

:rotfl2:

$2000 to get your air condition fixed is a lot of money. I hope you can get it on your insurance.

I hope Alli get well soon. It's no fun being sick.

Thanks - Me too! Alli is headed back to school today.

WooHoo for a weekend of fun! No one deserves it more than D~ (and maybe you guys as well!)

Have fun....and can't wait to hear all about it!

Nini

Awww... Thanks Nini! :lovestruc Looking forward to some time off.

YES!!!! we all are in need of some down time! Very excited. we have also made a pact only approved pictures will be posted!

Yes - only approved pictures.

Oh I hope the ac is covered. We are on our second ford and they were great when the alternator went after 3 months. They even sent a tow truck

Me too... But I've owned it for 2 years already... So I don't think I will get that lucky?

Now you have me very curious.

D, that is just mean.

Sorry. :stir:

OK - then don't read that post please. :rotfl2: Thanks for the compliments on the bag. I hope the A/C is covered too...

The service guy said that they could call - but in order to get any answers, they would have to have the car there... I didn't want to drive it the 20 miles to the dealership, only to have them hook it up to the diagnostic machine, then to be charged $130 if my warranty didn't cover it. So, the service guy said that I might have better luck if I called the warranty company myself... So, that's what I did - with out any luck. :confused3 So, I will be bringing my car in - and making sure they call the warranty company BEFORE they do any diagnostics.

you forgot to write spoiler alert!!!

Sorry I didn't write spoiler alert... I love them too - I am soooo excited to have them!

Thanks! Yes - the girls were so surprised when they tried the headbands on and they didn't hurt their heads at all... We :lovestruc them!

Crazy!

Welcome Jenny - glad to have you here! :lovestruc Seriously - you haven't been to AK in 2 trips... it's our favorite park - we could never go to WDW with out a trip to AK... LOL - one of the reasons our trips have to be as long as they are. :rotfl2:

Dorine, aren't girls only trips just something so special?

Yes!!! This is one thing I am so happy that we did together... We had the BEST time - I wish we would have started doing them sooner.

Casey went to WDW with us once in 2007 and that was enough for him for awhile...he enjoyed it but his idea of vaca isnt walking 10 miles a day and waiting in lines! LOL!

Exactly! Josh can't stand the crowds... He was in Iraq and suffers from a bit of PTSD - so the crowds there (or anywhere) really aren't good for him. I decided that if I ever wanted to go back - with out a crabby DH - the girls and I would have to go it alone... And we did! And we love it! I dunno what I am going to do when they graduate in a few years??? :confused3 I may have to bust them out of college to go to WDW. :faint:

So Myca Mouse and I started taking solo trips and wow....what special memories.... I will never ever forget those nights of holding her hand and strolling world showcase and chatting and laughing, or taking a 1am ride on the Speedway and singing "It's A Small WOrld" at the top of our lungs.... You know....Disney truly is magic.... I think back to these moments that Disney have given us and I just smile.... I will cherish them for my lifetime and beyond.

I know! I get chills reading this - because I feel the exact same way! These moments have been just the most magical, and they mean the world to me... I am so lucky to have the relationship I have with my girls, and to throw this magic on top of it - well... it's amazing!

PS- I am SO happy you LOVE your hair gear! I think I may be even more excited than you for the rest of it! I am just exploding inside to get going on the latest designs!

How could anyone NOT love your hair gear... It's just the best - so unique and so original! I am thrilled beyond belief! :beach: I am SUPER excited to get the rest of it too! Seriously - it is going to be EPIC!!!

**********************************************************

So, yesterday I was hard at work in my sewing room most of the morning - I was able to get a lot accomplished - so happy about it!

Then the mailman rang the doorbell - and well - it was all over from that point. ::yes:: Had to play with our new head gear! WHOOT!!! Super excited about it - still. LOL

Oh... And then - I actually laid out on the deck for a little while - the sun was out, there was a breeze, and it just felt so good. I really need to take more days to just do that occasionally.

Right before dinner last night... V got a phone call... And she was screaming and laughing and screaming again... We couldn't figure out what was going on. :confused3 So, we all just stood there and watched her... :scratchin She hung up the phone and she was laughing hysterically... Remember her Ipod? The one she lost at the farm last August? They found it yesterday... It was under the seat on the mule (a tracked 4 wheeler) - we thought is was toast after being out in a field all fall/winter/spring... Since it was under the seat - there is a possibility that it may still work. Victoria is so excited - and to be honest, so are we. I knew it would turn up eventually... I just figured they'd find it mangled in some sort of farming equipment. ::yes:: They charged it last night, and hopefully it works. If not - at least we know what happened to it. So, that was kind of a cool phone call to get.

Then we went to bed...

Today is... GROCERY SHOPPING DAY!!! Whoot!

My list is really sucky... I've been couponing after dinner every night for the last 3 nights, in the hopes of saving this shopping trip - but well... we will see. Again - my family has nothing to offer for any of the meals - and I am tired of planning them all the time... So we are back to the age old question at 4pm every day... "what should I make for dinner tonight??" And it drives me crazy! I loved having a plan for meals - but I hated planning them with out any input. Sigh.

Alrighty... Must get a move on... You all know I like to get my shopping done early... Maybe I can come home and work on some FUN projects?

Prayers to everyone... thanks for all the updates! Have a great day!

D~

You should try planning meals at MY house! I have an almost 13 year old who has become so picky I can't imagine how she is getting enough to eat...she is thinking of becoming vegetarian. Puts a big crimp on our meat and potatoes family! But we made it through both times her older sister did this, so we will make it through this one as well!

She was bullied pretty bad last year at school and she is very conscious of her weight now... so she has decided that NOTHING I make is what she wants to eat...I use to solve this by making her cook...now she makes bird food when she cooks! (oh...as far as her weight goes...she is a PREFECT size 6!)

Love Love LOVE your new head wear! Isn't her stuff the absolute best?!?!! Can't wait to see the rest!

Just a very brief post before I head out the door for work. Just found out that Kat is not in Okinawa - she never left Guam. Apparently, as they were loading her onto the plane, she suffered a setback from the underlying medical problem. She had a significant blood loss. She can't be moved on the medevac route until she is stable, so her Dad is in contact with the higher ups to see if they can move her on an emergency flight. The hospital in Guam, while good, does not have the neurological program that she needs. Prayers please! And again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is one special young lady!

:confused3 I may have to bust them out of college to go to WDW. :faint:

My DD is 28 and we've been going, just the two of us, since she was in middle school. So many good memories!! College was tough! Luckily we live close enough so long weekend trips are possible. Now that she's off on her own it's even harder to find times when we can get away, but we manage a few trips each year. We've taken her boyfriend and his 4 year old a few times, and those trips are fun, but our girl trips are still my favorite!

I loved having a plan for meals - but I hated planning them with out any input. Sigh.

Tell them no one can get up from the table without planning at least one meal for the next week ;)

I have 2 picky eaters. My girl eats almost nothing. Generally 3 bites and she is done. She still wears a kids size 10 on the bottom. Tops are a little difficult now that she is developing and I have yet to find a decent bra.

Oh T I'm sorry for the setbacks and the disappointment of course she has continued prayers I am glad you told us :grouphug:

D' Better plan longer time in every park you go to; you and the girls are going to be stopped every few minutes with questions about those wonderful headbands :) The characters are going to LOVE these you'll get some awesome pictures with their reactions

I just wanted to share about the new flip-flops I bought at walmart yesterday. I'm not one to buy shoes at walmart generally because of my foot problems, but these shoes intrigued me! They are by Okabashi and were only $12. They have an arch support, are waterproof, are made in the USA, and are 100% recyclable.

I checked out their website okabashi dot com and was a bit impressed with their claims. I'm wearing them now, so we will see how that goes. Might be a less expensive option than other brands. The prices on line were a bit more than what I paid at walmart, but still not expensive.

This morning when I woke up I was excited to go to work! Why??? because I was hoping to have a special delivery today (or that it was already here as I was in St. Louis yesterday)
It was here:cheer2::banana::cool1::thumbsup2
LOVE IT, looks even better in person:goodvibes

I have been searching back thru this PTR for the photo with the felt danglers, finally found it on page 212. I would love to have some made to go on my bags! Was wondering if you could let me know who sells them?

Thanks again D~

I can't wait to see what you have in the making for the upcoming auction:wizard:

PS: hope the AC on your car is covered by insurance!!!

LOVE the big reveal...very cute.

I remember those days of trying to plan meals...UGH!

It is so much easier now that it is just the two of us (Andy is very seldom home at dinenr time). We have pizza one night, hot dogs on another, spaghetti one night and either grilled cheese or BLT sandwiches on the other. Our grocery shopping night (which is usually Thursday) we treat ourselves to Steak & Shake or Wendy's. I cook on the weekends when Mark doesn't have baseball.

Have a great holiday weekend.

I have some kind of fish on Mondays, something easy and fast to make on Tuesdays, some sort of soup on Wednesday (it can be fish soup or sausage soup, Thursday is fish again and Friday is pasta of some sort, Saturday I have different things every week and Sunday is meat.

So with that list as a base it's a little bit easier to find out what exactly I want to have for dinner.

The headbands of Toystory and Monster Inc looks is lovely :lovestruc I can understand why you are so excited.

I hope your grocery shopping goes well :)

OK just had to check in to say LOVE LOVe LOVE those accessories! How cute! Wish I had something like them for my solo trip next week. Great conversation starters I'm sure.
