Nick Gollattscheck, Sea Worlds director of public relations said "While we're disappointed a small group of misinformed individuals was able to deny fans what would have been a great concert by Heart at sea world, we respect the bands decision.

If Gollattscheck was my PR director I would fire him. What an arrogant comment, insinuating they are incapable of making an informed decision and are being persuaded by misinformed individuals. Heart should be insulted.

Why? Either they signed a contract they were too stupid to read (you know they were aware where they were to play) or they're too cowardly to honor a commitment. Because he dares to disagree with the "good cause" bullies who post on-line petition and who think only they can possibly be right he should be fired?

Millions of people enjoy Sea World. What gives you the right to decide for them what's ok to see or do? You don't like it, don't go.

Slacktivism via on-line petitions is cheap and easy. Watching a movie produced with a clear agenda and buying it hook, line and sinker is intellectually lazy. I'm not saying that's what you have done, but that's what most who sign these petitions do and who start their "good cause" bullying do. Most entertainers have agents that book their engagements. Heart has stated they were told they were booked for an Orlando show. When it was brought to their attention it was sea world, they cancelled. I do believe sea world's response was cheap and defensive.
Obviously you are not aware of how social change occurs. Petitions, demonstrations, protests etc are tools used to bring attention to causes people feel strongly about. Obviously you love sea world and will continue to go there. Obviously I feel what they are doing to their cetaceans is wrong and will never support them.
I feel I am very well informed about this topic. I have been a strong advocate for cetaceans since a 1970 trip to sea world in aurora, ohio. I didn't need Blackfish to sway me one way or the other. I have researched and kept informed since that day. I feel keeping these magnificent creatures captive in small concrete tanks for the pleasure of human's entertainment is selfish, cruel and abusive. I will never stop being a voice for the minds in the waters that cannot speak for themselves.
As far as others signing petitions against cetacean captivity? Maybe they all just have a heart.

Add Joan Jett to the list. She just delivered a cease and desist order to sea world. She is demanding they stop playing "I Love Rock n Roll" during one of their orca abusement shows. She also informed them they are not permitted to use any Joan Jett and Blackhearts material, ever!

The latest developments are making me very happy. It's keeping "Blackfish" in the news which, I hope, will get even more people to watch it and see that we need to correct the mistakes that were made so many years ago. Stop breeding these animals in captivity and let the ones that are in captivity live out their lives in as natural a way as possible. I saw there was a baby orca born in the last week or two and instead of bing happy, it saddened me to know that poor animal may never know freedom and live the life nature intended it to live. Heck, it will probably be dead in the next few years...

Ugh - I know! There are so many threads on the cruise forum with people talking about how great it is...gross! All of these people who go on and on about how they love dolphins, their goal is to swim with them, etc., and never do the tiniest bit of research about the treatment of "swim with dolphin" animals drives me batty...

i agree - dolphins faces are cursed - they look happy all the time so people want to swim with them.

i have heard that dolphins can be vicious - good!

I certainly wouldn't doubt it. She was probably inseminated with Tilikum's sperm. Is he the only bull orca used for captive breeding right now?

I was a Trisha Yearwood fan until this latest stunt she pulled. She hasn't even seen the movie, she cancelled based on things she heard.

I hope these bands are fined big bucks for breaking their contracts.
