You think we’ll see Tinkerbell’s beard?

Just that sentence made me lol! Thanks, Lisa, for making me laugh when nothing else can! The comment about your family "desserting, then deserting" you really cracked me up, too! :-)

Hi Lisa! Great update! I love Wishes fireworks! They are the best fireworks I've ever seen! I too can never get any good firework pictures! I even have a fireworks setting on my camera & they still turn out horrible! Glad you enjoyed the dessert party! I don't think I would enjoy it because I am not a sweet eater at all!! My husband, however, would probably eat $90 worth to himself!! :rotfl: Well, can't wait for your next update!!

Started my new job 9 days ago, and so far I'm at 81 hours with no end in sight. Trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible, but hopefully the hours will calm down sometime. So, that's my excuse for being so far behind on the Disboards once again. Quick recap:

John back to work: :cheer2:

Spinning Teacups: :crazy2:

Opening day for 7DMT: :crowded:

OMG!! We were there for opening day, too. Our fastpasses started right as yours ended. This is killing me! (in a good way) Our paths kept almost crossing, but not quite! That's almost even more fun than setting up an official meet. Almost!

Look at you Ms. Popular!!! How cool to meet some fellow DISers and in that short of time!

I know my DH would love the dessert party- He has the sweetest, sweet tooth that you ever did see!

Those deserts look great! I have to add the Desert Party to my list of things to try someday!

Yay for all the Dismeets. That's so fun!

And I also just recently heard that sometimes Tink is a man. Something about being heavy enough to fly on the line? I have no idea.

Anyway, I started my TR last night! Only got intros done, but here is the link!

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Cosmic Rays when you went years ago...it is one of our favorites.

Lisa, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Wishes Dessert Party! I have yet to be able to snag an ADR for it. If you had just asked me, I could have told you that Tinkerbelle is a female and she has to be a certain height and a certain weight (we learned this during the Keys to the Kingdom Tour) for insurance purposes.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: for several DIS meets while at the party. :sad1: no photographic proof.

The dessert party looked very nice! Lots of goodies to choose from, and a nice location for viewing the fireworks. Sweet!

Darla, it was a great location and the desserts were good too!

Would you say the dessert party is a good idea for a surprise for an anniversary? My boyfriend and I will be there for our 10-year anniversary as a couple and I want to surprise him with something awesome! I am doing all the planning so I can easily slip things by him. We've been going out since we were 16 (well he was just 17 haha)!

Absolutely! I think that it would make a great surprise for him.

your pictures came out great, some of them are really fantastic! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

So glad you had good seats.. how were your 'neighbors' sitting around you?

Everybody was very considerate of others. There were guests who went to the railing and that's actually encouraged. It was nice to see everybody making room for others to see.

YAY for Dis meets. but since there are no pictures... it didn't happen... :rolleyes1

Crap! Three Dis Meets didn't happen at all? Bob & Farrah, nice "not seein'" ya. :rotfl:

Loved the dessert party..

We did!

The desserts look wonderful. I may have to do that one day. It would be nice to just sit back & enjoy the show.

It was very nice not having to find a place to sit and wait on the show to begin.

:thumbsup2 I love it when a plan comes together.

Me too!

Wow, you were racking them up!

I know!

:faint:

Looks like a great spot to watch the show!

It was a great place to sit and watch the show. Years ago, when the kids were younger, we'd have a counter service meal there and watch the fireworks. Of course, Disney had to catch on.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Well, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

And I had to go!

Especially when compared to joining the stampede out the gates!

Amen!

Great photos of the fireworks :thumbsup2 I cant wait to do the dessert party. To me it would way worth if we didnt have to scope out a spot an hour early and fight with the crowds. The desserts would be an added bonus !

Thank you! As you said, the desserts were a bonus in comparison to not having to fight the crowds to find a spot to watch.

Great update! And I'm not saying that just because I got mentioned. I'm so glad you enjoyed the party, we did too. We had a great location right by the railing, we didn't have to stand up when Wishes started. I thought it was totally worth it and would do it again. I didn't get any pictures of the buffet either, crowded but not bad crowded and trying to get my little kids settled, it just didn't happen. We thought all the desserts were good except one, it was something coffee flavored. I was wanted to stay and sit and let the crowd move out like y'all did but 2 of my kids had to go to the potty. I looked back and saw y'all standing at the rail hanging out.

I'm glad to hear that you did, indeed, enjoy the party too. I am not a fan of coffee flavored desserts either.

So happy John s back at work. I tried to post something a few days ago but my internet was acting crazy. Can't wait to hear more.

We are happy too! It's nice to have a steady income again and get back to a normal routine.

So happy that the party worked out for you! I was slightly nervous that something might go wrong and then I will feel to blame. Not sure why I was going to feel that way but I was.

Stacy, I would NOT have blamed you if something had gone wrong. Thankfully, it didn't!

Although....I have to say that I guess you didn't see the small print when I agreed to let you grab the reservation was that I wanted loads of dessert pictures. :lmao:

I can't believe that I didn't take more pictures than I did. I'll be sure to next time. :rotfl:

Glad you had such a great night. It is definitely on our list for next time.

I forgot to see if you have a ticker. Do you have a trip planned?

Well, hellllooooo humans!! AAAARRRGGGGG!!!! Ok, I just had to do that. Finally I'm getting around to being caught up with your report as we just got back 6 days ago and I'm still coming down from my vacation high! Just a couple of things I had to mention. First I was sorry to read about John's temporary unemployment. Good thing it only lasted a month and 3 days. You must have been in panic mode! I have the answer to teens being in the bathroom --- THEY BRING THEIR PHONES!!!! Alot of the times I'll ask Victoria if she's almost done in the bathroom and I get "I just have to finish this text" HUH??? I would certainly not hang around a bathroom to text. Now, taking pictures is a whole other issue.....:rolleyes1 I am very happy that Lacey, Jesse and extended family will be joining you this next time. That's exciting to help plan and gather info! Absolutely LOVED the hurling pics! Again, as everyone else, I am soooo very happy that John is back to work!! I'll try to keep up now! :yay:

I can't wait to see the rest of your report! Stupid Edgar!

Yep, the teenagers are always taking their phones with them everywhere they go. I could care less if I have my phone with me.

We are super excited that Lacey and Jesse and possibly extended family will be with us next trip.

John was so happy when they called him back to work. It was certainly a load off our shoulders.

Dessert looks so good. I still have that on my list to do as well. I have heard from many there is like 3 Tinks and 1 is a man. I don't know if it's true or not. There are some die hards who say yes and some who say no way.

That's the same thing that I had heard. Kathy posted that there were only females (that's what they were told during the Keys tour)

Just that sentence made me lol! Thanks, Lisa, for making me laugh when nothing else can! The comment about your family "desserting, then deserting" you really cracked me up, too! :-)

Awww, April, I'm so glad that I made you laugh!

I love Wishes! I have that same setting on my camera and still the majority of my pictures are crappy!

If ya'll like sweets, then the dessert party would be right up your hubby's alley.

Opening day for 7DMT: :crowded:

The line was crazy ridiculous!

OMG!! We were there for opening day, too. Our fastpasses started right as yours ended. This is killing me! (in a good way) Our paths kept almost crossing, but not quite! That's almost even more fun than setting up an official meet. Almost!

It's crazy that we were either right behind one another or close to one another the entire time.

Look at you Ms. Popular!!! How cool to meet some fellow DISers and in that short of time!

I know my DH would love the dessert party- He has the sweetest, sweet tooth that you ever did see!

May 28th was THE day for Dis meets!

If your husband likes sweets, then the dessert party would be great for him.:thumbsup2

I like being able to sample some of everything.

I heard the same thing about Tinkerman...I mean, Tinkerbell.

Hello there, Mrs. I Am In Nickiland!

That's two things that you were told on the Keys tour that we didn't hear about.

Congratulations -- I'm so excited for you all that he's back to work. What a relief!!!

It was a big relief for sure!

You can ring my bell! Ring my bell! You are soooo gonna be in trouble!

After our very nice chat with a wonderful castmember, the crowds had thinned out significantly. It looked like the perfect time to cross Main Street and head towards our next Fastpass attraction. As we were walking, John said that he’d like to call Mama and tell her about the dessert party since he knew that she was probably wondering how he liked it. We walked past Casey’s Corner and stopped on the pathway that lead to the bathrooms and child care center. While John was talking to Mama, the castle show began again and we had a great viewing spot even if there were construction walls up:

I know you can’t believe this and it will be really hard to imagine but Hunter and I were acting silly and dancing to the music :

I love the castle show! It’s just so neat to see the images projected onto the castle.

**Continued in next post

The phone was passed around so that we could all talk with Mama and tell her what we had done that day. Once the conversation was done, we moved on towards Liberty Square and came upon the replica of The Liberty Bell:

Years ago, Hunter wanted his picture taken in front of the bell and I thought that it would be nice to recreate it now that he was older and much much taller:

I was looking at the camera to see if the pictures had taken and when I turned this was happening :p:

Hunter was pretending that he was sneaky and was going to ring the bell.

John, on the other hand, really did ring the bell! You are soooo gonna be in trouble!

He didn’t haul off and pull the clapper waaaaay back so the ring wasn’t loud but you could still hear it. I was worried that Disney security would come-a-runnin’ and haul him off to Disney jail. Then, I’d have to use the bail money to get him out and all hope of running another “find the new Caribbean Beach Resort rooms” mission would fall to the wayside. :rolleyes2 My eyes darted back and forth but didn’t see anybody running towards us so I guess all was good. John said that if they didn’t want anybody ringing it, they would have put something around the clapper dinger-donger thingamajig (my words, not John’s) to keep it from moving. I guess I could see the logic in that especially if it meant that he’d use that argument if confronted by the Disney Police and it meant that my bail money was still safe. ::yes::

Our last remaining Fastpass of the evening was for The Haunted Mansion and it was way past time that we could use it. As a matter of fact, the hour window to use it was almost up so that’s where we went next. I’ve never been able to get good pictures in the stretch room but two came out good enough to post:

Because it was nearing 11:00 p.m., there weren’t a lot of people in the stretch room meaning when they opened the doors, there was no stampede to form the single line needed to get to your doom buggy. :crowded: Gotta love the perks of being in the park late at night.

I attempted pictures as the ride began and, as always, none of them were great especially this first one but I thought it was cool looking:

A few more:

The Haunted Mansion is not one of John’s favorite attractions because of the cattle prodding process that you must go through after exiting the stretch room.:scared: Even he admitted that this time around it was a much more pleasant experience.

**Up next: Yank it like you mean it! Put some muscle behind it!

Sounds like you guys were just having too much fun again! Glad to hear that the Disney Police didn't haul John away for ringing the bell.

OM GOSH I am dying with laughter!! HE DID IT!!!!
No Disney police! WTG!!!!! :worship: Phew your bail Money is safe still!

Love your pictures of the projection show!!! it is one of the best shows isn't it? :cloud9:

Hunter really has some fantastic Dance moves!!!

You gotta love the fact that you can let loose at Disney and nobody will haul you off to Disney jail. ;)

The bail money was safe! Meaning, more seek out the new rooms mission.

I love love love the castle show! Hunter was doing the Carlton.

Yank it like you mean it! Put some muscle behind it!

When we exited The Haunted Mansion, we went to our left into the new Fantasyland area and I stopped to take a picture of Rapunzel’s tower:

And of two of the posters in the area:

It was getting pretty late and we had done all that we wanted to do that evening so we started walking towards the front of the park. But, wait! :hyper: There was something else that we needed to do! We needed to try our luck at pulling the sword in the stone. First, Hunter gave it a try:

John was next:

John, seriously? Yank it like you mean it! Put some muscle behind it!

Neither one of the guys had any luck so I gave it a try. I was going to pull that sucker out if it was the last thing that I did!

Well, apparently, it was the last thing that I was gonna do because it didn’t budge. :lmao: Darn it! I took a picture of the backside of the castle:

Because of the parade, we knew that we wouldn’t be able to walk right down the middle of Main Street. So, we took a right at the castle pathway and walked down the sidewalks and right smackdab into the crowds. Fortunately for us, we knew that you could enter the stores at Casey’s Corner and go all the way down and come out at the fire station. :thumbsup2 The castmembers stopped us when we got to the sidewalk and I snapped this picture:

Once the float had passed, we were allowed to cross and out the gates we went. Before leaving the park all together, I wanted to stop at Guest Relations and ask about the Keys to the Kingdom Tour that we were scheduled to do later on in the trip. The line was virtually non-existent:

Except for that one family who stayed there forever and one million days. They were asking all sorts of questions regarding their tickets and even though the castmember had provided the answer, they’d bring the question back up. I could tell that it was frustrating for the castmembers and for the family. After a while, the family left and I was able to confirm where we were supposed to check in for the tour, what time, etc. For the record, I had all of the correct information but I wanted to ask just to be on the safe side.

By the time I was done, the parade was over and the guests were spilling out of the park. Not wanting to join them, we plopped ourselves down on the benches and people watched. Boy were the people watching good that evening! I can’t recall any one person or instance that made it so much fun but it was.

In addition to people watching, I took a couple of pictures ‘cause, well, that’s what you do when you are getting a little bored.

**Up next: Come on in! The key’s under the mat!

First, to confirm what Kathy said, I was also told on my KTTK tour that Tinkerbell is a female and has to be under a certain height and weight!

I'm glad no body came and took John away for ringing the bell! :rotfl2:

I've ridden HM a couple of times when the stretch room was not full and it is certainly more pleasant to walk out without being shoved all around!

Love all of the sword pull attempt pictures! :lmao:

People watching is great, but especially so at Disney!

I love Magic Kingdom at night :lovestruc If you remember me telling you we were there this same night. We probably walked right by each other some where :rotfl: Right before the parade we managed to get back to Big Thunder and Splash. The lines were pretty much a walk on.
