Tower of Terror 10 Miler 2014

We were supposed to fly out at 5:20 from DFW but some wicked storms rolled through and now it's looking like 9:00. I'm gonna make that race if I have to run all the way there haha!

I can't find what I need with searching but I know others have discussed transportation and I need help.

We are staying at AKL, so no race transportation there. We have a car. I am running the race and my husband and kiddos will be coming to the villains bash.

We are having Earl of sandwich for dinner at DTD with some friends at 5:30-6ish. Then my husband can take me to WWoS to get the shuttle before 8 but my question is what is the best thing for him and the kids (9&10) to do for 2 hours? I mean, they could go back to DTD... But if they were going to stay at DTD is there a better way for me to get to ESPN?

What time will the villains bash shuttles start running since the race info says the runner shuttles will stop running at 8:15pm? Can they come to the race start with me? I don't think so...

They can go to the race start with you just not into your corral.

Your kids will probably enjoy the big dance party that goes on outside the corrals. In years past there have also been food trucks.

I was disappointed that the dragon was not on the runner shirt too. I was also surprised to see the official they brought to the expo not last very long yesterday

Just curious...we have an extra ticket to the villains bash after the race. Can we sell that to someone? I see it's sold out now and Ive seen people selling race bibs if something comes up and they can't make it. Not sure how the party ticket works since it's attached to the individual like a park ticket. TIA!

I've read all 109 pages since I decided I was going to start training for the 2015 TOT run (I've never run before and have a lot of weight to lose but I'm do inspired to do it) and I just wanted to say good luck to everyone running it this year. Have a great time

I'm staying at AS Sportsand I've had problems with the boards too. Its 9:29, I'm in my corral. Weather is perfect. I'm amazed at this experience but wanted to say good luck to everyone.

The dragon was shown on the shirts for purchase; they can't have them be the same as the included shirts or no one will buy them. The design of the jacket DH and DS bought me last year was different than the included shirt, and thank goodness. Last year's shirt was awful IMO.

I knew going into this I was under trained but man last night was brutal for me.

My gps watch didn't ever link so I had to rely on the foot pod. Well the foot pod was way off (about half a mile off) so I thought I was doing 14 min miles out that gate. Nope I was doing 16 min miles. That coupled with two long bathroom breaks and my feet giving out on me made for a very very rough night. I honestly believe had I been in the last corral I would have been swept.

I go crazy when my GPS doesn't link, so I feel for you! But--- you DID finish! Congrats! I'm planning on doing this race next year but I think a night race will be really tough, because it's not something alot of us do.

I had a great time!! Couldn't have asked for better weather...we started in corral D and had no problems with congestion, it got crowded but not unmanageable in the narrow parts of the course. We finished in around 2 hours and 5 minutes...stopped for every character/photo stop except for the witch, the queen of hearts, and Lotso towards the end. My pictures didn't come out great but I loved the spooky effects on the horse, and Hades talking to people from the DHS sign. The party felt kind of crowded and we were tired at that point, so we rode a few rides, met a few characters, and headed out.

Overall, what an awesome weekend!

Loved the race, finished at about 2 hrs 19 min, was hoping for better but overall I can't complain, I quit smoking 5 weeks ago Friday so being able to finish and have fun doing it to me is amazing. Afterwards rode a few rides and went back to the hotel, I feel bad for the others but felt better seeing other people limping and not just me lol
