WDWKook ~ Thanks for sharing the pics!! Did you see anything that looked like a cabana?

Any idea if there are cabanas at the new pool and if they can be booked yet?

I am also anxiously awaiting news on the cabanas - TIkiman commented on my question on his FB page before he had to stop commenting - his comment led me to believe that they will not be open for a while for booking. I'd love to grab one for our July vacation and I have IPO watching for me - but I'm also keeping my mind open to the fact that they might not bring them back. :-(

The Poly is really starting to shape up! It is looking really awesome; Can't wait to experience it....for the first time! Going to my daughters for Easter Dinner and we are going to start planning our ADR's and FP+ picks! So Excited!

I'm a little confused about pool hours at Poly. I usually stay at Pop Century and there are lots of people in the pool well into the night, with no lifeguards on duty. Is this enforced more at one resort than another? I like to swim at night after returning from the parks, I don't care how late it is.

The pool at the Poly is now fenced in to discourage pool hoppers and to enforce pool hours when a lifeguard is on duty. Apparently there have been some after official hours pool accidents/fatalities at some WDW resorts so fences/hours the response. Pool hours have already changed from 10am-8pm to 9-10; many expect the hours to be expanded even further during peak summer months, tho that remains to be seen.

In January at WL my dd and were disappointed that the pool was closed when we wanted a swim at 8:30pm. With the new fencing you can't swim after lifeguards leave.

We just walked over to the dvc pool instead.

At most of the resorts the secondary pools are not locked. At poly people COULD have used the smaller pool but it will close soon for its refurbishment.

I think with warmer weather the deluxe will expand the hours as weather gets warmer but for us northerners, we like to swim at night even in January!!!

I am so sad that Tikiman can't give us information anymore :(

Agreed! I was hoping I'd get an idea of how the East Pool was doing prior to October; I haven't heard of people past September getting notices from Disney, so maybe it will open sooner than spring!

We have a res in December and received a notice from Disney that the east pool will probably be under construction when we are there.

Thank you! We're happy either way - my husband likes construction so he will be happier if anything! :)

We are headed there the second week in August. Received our letter in the mail that the east pool will be down, have been following the "unofficial" I guess you could say construction updates. We are going to make the best of it, are not bent out of shape about the East pool. It's are first time staying here, and we plan to enjoy it and go with the flow.

Now, Pirates of Caribbean being shut down, I am more bummed about that!

We will also be going in July -- can't imagine a Poly trip without a cabana! It's a huge part of our staying at Poly. Last July we booked a cabana for our pool days and it was worth every penny to have our own space, or should I say just to have some space lol. I was so used to going to both SAB and Poly pool and feeling lucky if we could have 1 chair to split among the 4 of us....the cabana changes that and I really wish SAB had some cabanas!!

This is the new "Sprayground" called KIKI TIKIS which sits between the pool and Trader Sam's. I suspect the use limitations will be the same as the new WL splash pad which is 48". There isn't an age restriction. I stood on a CC's chair to take some photos, but a manager started to walk toward me from TSGG so I had to relocate to lower ground. A couple of days ago it appeared they had quite a bit more work to do before it opens.

Just read on Tikiman's FB page that cabanas will not be rented for the foreseeable future :(

A few more LAVA POOL shots that wouldn't post from my phone the other day.

NEW BATHROOMS AND POOL BAR. LOTS OF SEATING, BUT NOT MUCH SHADE. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY LOCATION THAT SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD SUPPORT CABANAS, BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY OFFICIAL INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR STATUS.

NEW DVC BBQ AREA BETWEEN MOOREA AND PAGO PAGO.THE NEW MAP IDENTIFIES THE AREA ONLY AS "BBQ AREA." WILL THE REHAB OF THE QUIET POOL, NOW LABELED AS "OASIS POOL," BECOME THE DVC STUDIO POOL? THERE IS ALSO AN "OASIS BAR AND GRILL" LABELED ON THE MAP.
